Diversity in work place
Understanding the basic constituents of workplace has been the major aspects that defines
the diversity of a work place. Workplace diversity is basically focused on the differences in
between the individuals present. The difference in the thought process of the individuals have
been the major concern and hence wise this can be stated that proper analysis of the individuals
are important in understanding the workplace diversity (Guillaume et al, 2017). This
individuality is not only about difference in the thought process of the individuals but also there
is a difference in operational process of the individuals as well. Race, gender, ethnicity, sexual
orientation and citizenship of the individuals are also considered. This is one of the major aspect
that is to be considered for proper diversity maintenance in the business organizations. It has
been noted that with increase in diversity, higher innovation can be incorporated as diverse
thought process is put into action (Barak 2016). Prioritizing the communication process as well
as treating of the employees in a proper manner ensures that the employees will be getting
encouraged and hence wise higher employee retention can be made.
Various kinds of discriminations with example
Different discriminations that are made in terms of age. For example, the employees with
lesser age is considered as a junior and hence they are made to perform some extra duties to
provide benefits to their seniors (Wilson 2014). Pregnancy is another discrimination that is seen.
This discrimination is considered as a positive discrimination. Required benefits are provided to
the pregnant women and this is considered as a positive gesture. Mental or physical disability is
also another issue that is to be considered. In case of physical and mental disability special

treatment and reservation is provided. Ethnicity has also been a discriminative point. For
example language related discrimination takes place.

operational process has been increasing.
