Workplace transformation can be summarized as the set of practises which are taken into
consideration for the purpose of making some favourable changes at workplace in order to hike

There are range of methods, tools, techniques are used in order to install such transformation. In
the present scenario where the world is going through the phase where it has experienced
multiple issues such as drastic natural calamity which came in the form of Covid-19 and
disrupted entire business environment (Olokundun, et al. 2021)
For being competitive and surviving in these predicaments is only possible with
responding to such unforeseen circumstances and the way can be paved with the help of
workplace transformation. Which brings sense of productivity, innovativeness, flexibility, higher
performance etc. to the workforce, and they can grab bigger for the organization as a whole. The
report is intended to scrutinize that how Covid-19 has affected workplace transformation at
Tesla. Tesla is one of the biggest giant organization which is engaged in car manufacturing
business, storage, automotive, energy generation etc. the organization is well-known for the
innovation and workplace transformation it brings. Workplace transformation rate of this
organization is quite higher since it wants to be number one in the market with the better quality
course of actions it extends to its clients. The research report is supposed to present a fully fledge
study on this topic in context to the organization.

Literature review
To determine the impact of covid-19 on the workplace transformation-
As per the view of Meske and Junglas, (2021) Business has been changed due to impact
of pandemic and it has elements and functional unit of the organization in negative manner.
Along with this, in the time of pandemic most of the company has transformed their working
policy as due to COVID- 19 companies was shut down. So in order to continue the business
many firms have adopted for work from home policy in which worker can even work for
company by staying in the remote area. Along with this, as per the view of Guruprasad and
Satyanarayana, (2020) after the pandemic there has been increase in usage of digital technology
like goggle meet, Zoom etc. and it has contributed in enhancing the capabilities of company as
well as maintaining the working facilities of the employees.
Although due to pandemic there has been negative impact on the economies of the
country and due to that there has been decrease in the profitability of the firm. Moreover,
Attaran, Attaran and Kirkland, (2019) has stated that there has been positive impact of COVID –
19 in transforming workplace area as it motivated companies to adopt for digital technology and
make efficient use of it. Thus, it can have been seen that during the time of pandemic E-
commerce was able to sustain well in the competitive market area and contributed in their
productivity. The digital technology has allowed in creating virtual environment for employee
which allowed them to achieve their task effectively (Hur and et.al., 2019).
Although pandemic has motivated company to make use of digital technology as it will
help in improving the workflow management. However, most of the organization has adopted
new hygiene policy and stress environment for giving the employee healthy environment so that
it can work more effectively and efficiently and stay loyal towards their job.
Understanding the positive and negative aspects of the global pandemic-
Meske and Junglas, (2021) supported the views and articulated that Covid-19 has been
one of the biggest challenge for the world but the fact cannot be eliminated that it brought both
positive and negative impacts on the organization. Tesla is one of the most prominent entity in

the international market. The organization is engaged in different areas of serving. The pandemic
came in the form of mix bag bearer. It poured on range of negatives along with some positives.
According to Danivska, (2018) it can be reflected that the pandemic made organizations
to think about making some drastic changes on workplace so can guide their workforce to be
heavily productive. It became handy for them to test something which can bring the productivity
level of their employees back. Earlier there was a predetermined system of the business. They
were just responding to the circumstances so can make changes but after tasting the most bitter
pill in the form of Covid-19 they are striving to dive deeply in order to bring changes at
workplace.
Opposing the above suggested views Ulukan, (2020) said that Covid-19 cannot be
justified it just brought negatives to the organizations. Such instances do not take place on
regular interval. The organization lost their tracks and got derailed. They were earlier making
investments in order to bring workplace transformation in systematic manner but after pandemic
they are not in position to align with the world they are suffering a lot.
On the other hands, Haddud and McAllen, (2018) said that pandemic made the world
innovative in nature. Earlier the organization were not ready to make changes such as in
pandemic Tesla brought hyper form of collaborative tools for communication. So these all forms
of innovations can be seen only after such predicaments. Contrasting the views Mangaroo-Pillay
and Botha, (2020) said that but organizations are losing their strengths to be competitive in the
market they are struggling a lot and are facing such severe calamity which is ultimately affecting
their workplace performance. It was seen that Covid-19 made drastic shifts in the workplace
transformation. Digitalization has been one of such tool behind, it led organizations to practise
digital technologies on the place of traditional way of working.
Measurement of the situations of workplace during and after global pandemic-
Nagel, (2020) supported the view that there are number of methods or measurement tools
which can be used to measure the situations of workplace during and after pandemic. It has been
quite affective and brought severe repercussions to the organization. Tesla is one of the biggest
giant in US market which is expanding its winds in some new markets too. With this regard, it
becomes its prime duty to work on such measurements.
Singh, Kumar and Ahmad (2020) said that the best measurement would be revenue and
some other financial tools used by an organization. It would be highly useful to know that how

the performance is being shifted and what factors are causing it some changes and to which
direction. It covers methods such as net profit, total revenue etc. these can be measured in form
of quantity and can help to decipher the different came in these different points of time.
Opposing the above view Koirala and Acharya, (2020) said that it would not be a fair
treatment since the organization cannot rely on such single set of measurement technique.
Workplace transformation is a bigger phenomenon and definitely these financial elements are
getting affected to the greater level yet the role of some non-financial tools are having their
inevitable usefulness. Some measurements such as employee retention, their performance, their
learning etc. can also be used as a measurement so can reflect better to determine whether the
global pandemic brought significant changes or not.
At the same time, Koirala and Acharya, (2020) said that workplace transformation can be
measured using tools such as mapping some KPIs. Organizations like Tesla who are having their
widely prevailing business cannot rely on a single set of measurements to know the impact or
effects of such events before and after pandemic. With this regard, they may fabricate their own
KPIs which would help them to eradicate the sense of insecurity and to the fullest extend can
contemplate on these elements.

Research philosophy
There are two main research philosophies but for this research Interpretivism had been taken into
consideration because this is the approach which is directly integrated with the reflections of the
research and also assess their opinion through some real based experiences. Which are hugely
supported by some happened events (Kim, 2020)
Research approach
In this research, the focus has been kept on deductive approach. There are two types of research
approaches which are used to carry out certain research but for fulfilment of the aim, deductive
approach had been used. In this approach a relation was being made between the case and some
existing theory. At the same time, it was quite helpful for such researches which are based on
qualitative approach.

Research design
In this project, exploratory design of research was used. The research was qualitative in nature
where qualitative aspects were supposed to get analysed with this regard, it becomes rational
choice to choose the exploratory design which help to gather inner insights of research.
Research methodology
This research was qualitative in approach. At the same time, it was based on survey so
the methodology used in this research was used. Survey is the process of gathering data form the
participants which is used for completion of the project. It is collected by fabrication of
questionnaire (Giorgi, et al. 2020)
Sampling method
In this research simple random technique was used for taking out some samplers. It is not
possible to study entire population. With this regard, it has been considered for this research that
the samples must be taken out on random basis.
Sampling size
For completing the project 30 employees of the organization were taken. They were
selected as per the method intended earlier (Wieland and Kollias, 2020) The all employees were
given equal opportunity to get selected as a sample. They were picked using random method of
sampling. The population of this research was the all employees who were working in Tesla, at
any location, with any number of experience, at any factory. They all were considered for this
research.
Data analysis
The data of this project has been analysed using thematic analysis. The research was descriptive
in nature so in such types of qualitative research the best way for carrying out analysis is
thematic. The data was analysed using different charts, diagrams in order to make it receptive to
the users and reflecting best set of information from the research.

1. Do you think that Tesla has managed its workplace efficiently in the pandemic?
Result: There were 30 employees and out of 30, around 33% accepted that they were strongly
agreed that their organization at the same time 8 of them have nodded in favour. On the other

hands, 12 of them were either disagree or strongly disagree. It suggests that majority of them are
having favourable feelings about work (Dieguez, 2021)
2. Is it possible for Tesla to develop such workplace environment which can support employees
even in Covid-19 like situations.
Result: It was found that again 33.33% participants believe that it was possible to create such
situation for employees to get affective in such predicament. It was also found that around 60%
of them were either agree or disagree with the notions shared above.
3. Do you think that the Covid-19 has been a key driver of such hectic digitalized workplace
environment?

Result: It was found that 16 participants were either agreed or highly agreed when it is about
their belief on the creation of virtual environment in the organization. Around 46.66%
respondents were found disagreed with this notion they had some different belief.
4. What is your take that the pandemic brought negative or positive practises to Tesla?

Result: It was revealed that 19 respondents were agreed or strongly agreed that the pandemic
opened both negative and positive effects on the performance of organization. It has been quite
significant since around 11 participants still believe that it was not the case and some other
factors might be responsible for this all.
5. Do you think that Tesla has used Collaborative tools and applications efficiently in the
pandemic?
Result: 66.66% employees of Tesla believe that their organization was being collaborative in the
time of global pandemic. It supported them to the fullest extend and ensure their better
communication and collaboration so can work with higher efficiency. 6 out of 30 were being
looked disagree with the notion.
6. What are the main measures of figuring out the workplace transformation?

Result: Out of 30 participants 15 had believed that the higher productivity of the organization
can be cited as the biggest measurement. On the other hands, 10 of them found that revenues and
net profits are to be considered.
Research outcomes
Theme-1 Management of workplace environment-
There is strong need of having good strategy and its application for better workplace
transformation. Tesla is engaged in range of activities. The organization is having need to
manage its workplace with making strong contemplation on the workplace environment
management. As it was found in this research that there was a majority who supported the logic
that with better workplace management such issues can be copped up (Thomas and Maine, 2019)
Theme-2 Employee performance oriented workplace environment development-
The organizations are supposed to develop such mechanism which support employee
performance. The participants reflected that it is possible for the organization to develop such
infrastructure which can be supportive for employees in some unforeseen predicament. There is
great belief among employees that such circumstances may be confronted with installation of
better internal environmental practises. It would be in benefit of organization to get ready to fight
with such incidents.

Theme-3 Role of Covid-19 in the digital workplace transformation-
The study revealed that there had been great role-played by Covid-19. It was a sudden attack on
the entire world, but it has played a mammoth role specifically when it comes to organizational
workplace transformation. Earlier they were reluctant to bring some new practises but now after
testing such situations they got used to being with such circumstances so the role of Covid-19
had been great. On the other hands, it also affected organizational performance. It can be
deciphered considering responses of the participants.
Theme-4 Role of Pandemic both in term of negative and positive practises at Tesla-
The role of pandemic was found both negative and positive. The organization is well expanded
and working of realms. It can be reflected form the research that Covid-19 brought both
negatives and positives to the entities specifically when it is about their workplace
transformation. Majority was found supporting that the organization got supported in positive
manner so it would be a fair conclusion to be drowned.
Theme-5 Use of collaborative tools in the organization-
Collaborative tools are the tools which are used for hiking communicational practise of an
organization. It was found though the research that majority of employees working in the
organization found that the collaborative tools were quite useful for them in order to hike
workplace transformation. The workplace transformation of Tesla can be judged on the basis of
its collaborative tools application (Khan, 2021) which is being imparted to the apex level.
Theme-6 Measurement of workplace transformation-
Form this report it can be concluded that there is need to have well-structured measurement
system in the organization to measure its workplace transformation. There are number of
different measures are being used but all of them are perilous to certain extent. The majority of
responded supported productivity and performance level of employees to measure this workplace
transformation. On the other hands, some participants had deviating thoughts on it.

Reflection
Throughout the research I have learned various skills and gain knowledge regarding
impact of pandemic on the workplace area. Moreover, during the study I have improved my
research skill which has helped in collecting the appropriate data for the study and make it
authentic. In addition to this, I have also improved my knowledge regarding the making use of
methodology which has helped doing the research in right manner. Although I will make use of
this research for the future purpose as it will help in completing the task on time and finding the
right job. During the research I have divided my major goal into smaller unit which has helped
in completing the task on time.
Recommendation
It is to be recommended to organization for making use of training and development in
order to teach their staff regarding the use of advance technology. Along with this, if
employees are able to make use of technology effectively then it will be able to keep their
customer satisfied (Attaran, Attaran and Kirkland, 2019).
Moreover, it is too suggested companying that before making transformation in the work
area it should take feedback from the employees and make chances according to it as it
will motivate them to work hard and improve their experience.

employees of Tesla since the study is being carried out on the organization. Then
government, society, potential researchers, educational institutions, Tesla company, its

CONCLUSION
In this research study it has been deeply scrutinized that how the global pandemic which
has been experienced form the year 2019 had brought some drastic impacts on the workplace
transformation. With this regard, the report has deeply analysed how the Covid-19 pandemics
were bringing some drastic changes to the organizations who were striving to be competitive in
the market.
For fulfilment of the research aim Tesla was taken as the organization. The entity was
engaged in automation, energy production, storage type of services and having its great
reputation across the world. The research was segregate in some chapters. The chapter 1 shows
sort of basic information such as basic notion of workplace transformation, aim, objectives etc.
Chapter 2 reveals secondary research in the form of literature review. Chapter 3 has presented
how the data would be collected and what was the research methodology was used. Chapter 4
presented data analysis and its interpretation. At the end, Chapter 5 presented recommendations,
reflections and conclusion of this carried out research in order to suggest some better guidelines
to the researcher.
