This study evaluates the effectiveness of yoga in treating symptoms of depression and anxiety in women registered in a yoga clinic. The experiment involved a convenience sample of female patients who were interested in receiving yoga treatment. The study found that yoga can lessen and treat anxiety, however, it may require a longer therapeutic time period to see any improvements in depression. The results also suggest that yoga can be a potential treatment for other serious mental disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
