Introduction
The Hewlett-Packard company commonly known as the HP is a
well-known multinational IT Company in American. It offers a variety of
solutions on both software and hardware to the customers in small and
medium-sized business [3]. It is the leading global provider of the
products, and its headquarters is situated in Palo Alto in California. It
offers to span the personal computing, printing and imaging, access
devices, IT framework, and the international services. The merger of the
company and the Compaq Computer Corporation in 2002 forged
powerful employment for more than 140,000 employees serving
customers in more than 170 countries [12]. It was ever the largest tech
merger experienced in the world. This report will highlight the working
of the Zachman Framework Enterprises Architecture and the strategic
map for the Hewlett-Packard Company.
Identification
The need for the business to increases the efficiency and impact
of business lines are as a result of the desire to raise the value of the
shareholders. On the other hand, an increase in the size of the business
leads to the complexity of the geographically isolated operations. This
challenge is what exactly was faced by the Compaq and the HP
Companies when they merged. Having successfully attained its best,
the HP is, however, enlightened to consolidate the business of both
firms to diminish the cost of business IT systems and complexity,
achieving large scale economies and enhance the overall consumer

experience in technology. Its integration includes the people and
facilities, Compaq resources, the physical blend of HP and the
reputation consolidation as a unified and highly performing company
[6].
Analyze
Both the Hewlett-Packard and the Compaq Company have
functioning industries in Oslo in Norway with an approximation of 450
employees between them. HP merged directly after the restructure of
the management processes and functions to assist the HP Way, a brief
description of the core values of the company [4]. With more than forty-
five years in operation, the standards have therefore played a crucial
part in its success in the growth of the whole company while always
neglecting its responsibilities to the customers, employees and all the
other stakeholders. Moreover, the executives in HP Norway emphasized
the current employees' behavior by delivering an integrated HP vision to
help the firm control its marketplace. The actual challenge of
convergence was associated with the merging of the people and the
resources of HP into a new joint framework.
To ensure the consolidation of the company was not shaken at
any time during the relocation, the HP Norway had to search for
assistant from Accenture. The Accenture was chosen due to its ability in
identifying and leveraging ways that improve the overall performance of
an organization. The successful execution of project records by the

Accenture also played a crucial part in the decision making for the
company. To integrate successfully, the HP Norway should persist in
serving their customers while upholding an effectual outer focus. Up to
this end, the Accenture could form a group aimed at assisting the
company to design, implement and also manage various events.
Later, both the Hewlett-Packard and the Accenture created and
launched a system for all the workers to unveil attitudes towards
integration, differences between the former Compaq and HP
employees, potential areas of risk and the cultural identity [8]. The
Enterprise Architecture, therefore, combined the IT environments for
the HP special units with the objective of the allotment of regular
strategies for enhancing administration, arrangement advancement,
reuse of IT accessible resources and also programming improvements
over the association. In the end, the hypothesis is that the Enterprise
Architecture will make the IT highly responsive, more vital and less
expensive.

Zachman Framework
The framework provides a structural and formal way of viewing and
defining architecture. It is a two dimensional with first dimension as
primitive interrogatives; Why, How, When, Who, and Why and the
second one is the contextual, conceptual, logical, physical, as built and
function. Bellow is the framework.

Enterprise Functioning Evaluation
The enterprise architecture plan; the Zachman Certified
framework enables the Hewlett-Packard expert to enlarge both
theoretical and the technical skills vital for the success of the 21st-
century businesses. This plan has a unique component, "theoretical and
work experience combination" or "learning based on reality" [2]. The
HP is looking for the employees or the experts who can show command
and the result across various forms of business platforms. The Zachman
Certification course design is very practical and offers the Enterprise
Architecture of Hewlett-Packard a chance to broaden and comprehend
the trends in the industry while enhancing their skills.
Moreover, it is a special tool for the HP company to improve
market position, set recruitment standards and improve measurement
standards in both internal and external performance. Other disciplines
also represent some artifacts utilized for the scoping and
implementation motives. The traditional views labeled as the
implementers and planners are incorporated on displayed frame

enterprise. The products range from UNIX, software, storage, and the
pre-sales consultancy.
Internal process views
The company internally compete with the other companies in
the market producing similar products such as the Toshiba, Apple and
the Lenovo. To ensure the company wins in the highly competitive
market, it ensures the products are of high quality and meets the
customers' needs. This competition on the other hand help in

strengthening the control task and the quality assurance of the
company. One of the practices that improve products promotion and
increases awareness among the customers is through the technology
displays. For an instant, the HP Adventure activities in America and
Europe which are held twice a year [9]. The Adventure activities include
the designed directions for multiple industries. The company however
faced challenges in its operations such as the assumptions, risks, and
uncertainties. It also faced several disruptions from the
macroeconomics, geopolitical ideologies and the competitive pressure
impacts which require the implementation of the third-party supplier
management. In addition to the aforementioned calculation of
production, the company encompasses other functions; investment in
other products and security roles.
Learning and growth views
Reorganization practices such as funding and the dismissal of
the workers and staffs' finances and benefits were implemented to
eliminate the duplication of facilities [10]. Some of the expenses
incurred by the company are the aromatization of intangible resources
which include the impairment charges as a result of personal data
center withdrawals, and the acquisition cost. The incorporation process
between the HP Norway and the Accenture helped at identifying the
areas of confrontation. The company was, therefore, able to maintain
its market momentum during its move after finishing most of the
flourishing relocations in the history.

Evaluate or justification
The logical configuration of the HP Enterprise Architecture
Framework is vital in organizing and categorizing the Hewlett-Packard
descriptive representation for manual systems, automation system,
enterprise system and the enterprise management [5]. The modern
enterprise favors most of the Zachman framework. Due to its excellent
standards in designing Enterprise Architecture, the Zachman is
therefore widely accepted in the modern world of technology. Another
favor to the HP company is that the business model design "know-how"
is not only conveyed to the developers and the EA only but to multiple
stakeholders. This engages all the stakeholders in the enterprise,
therefore, improving the professional exchange within the information
framework. Additionally, the company has achieved outstanding
economic benefits as a result of maintaining the consistency of
customers profile and improving the workers' satisfaction. The HP states
that the integral portal has successfully reduced the time spent by each
employee in the HP's internal process by 20% hours [7].
Conclusion
Zachman framework is an Enterprise Architecture which gives
both the formal and the structured view of a business. The framework
provides a clear intersection of various categories of history in business
that have been in practice for many years. It also aims at shaping the
methodological, technical and the complex choices and the problem
within the Company. These issues are of great significance to the

technical and the general management of the organization. For the
Company to develop and implement a strategy, it has to integrate
various approaches including the analysis, planning, and
implementation. The applications of the Enterprise Architecture employ
both the practice and the principles to guide the Hewlett-Packard
through the process, data and the changes in technology vital in the
execution of the strategy. To ensure that the Hp serves as a guide to the
entire development process of the enterprise architecture, it should,
therefore, adopt the Zachman framework
