INTRODUCTION
Academic writing is the crucial art in the contexts of academics. It basically means the
writing which helps to deliver the ideas and information in terms of academics. This report will
outline the structure of the academic writing and features of academic writing like structured,
objectivity, precise, concise, balanced etc. Further it will also outline the personal experience of
BA (Hons) Business Studies with Foundation course and how this academic writing helps in
improving in learning of this course.
MAIN BODY
Features of academic writing
Structured: The structure of writing should be precise and clear. It must contain the
introduction, paragraphs and must be ends with a good and understandable conclusion. The
content written in all the parts must be related with each other. The academic writing should be
properly planned so it reduces the ambiguity while making the structure. By creating the
structure, it also creates and develops new ideas regarding every topic contained in that (Vo,
2019). The proper planned writing will lead the well and good final structure of writing. This
structure helps in revising the whole content at the end time. It should be made with the good and
new ideas so the reader must understand that easily. The students should have good skills of
making the structure which could be easy for them to study.
Objectivity: This the hardest feature of the academic writing. This helps in academic
writing by stating the main objective of the writing. It tells that what will happen rather than
making assumptions on that topics (Strobl and et.al., 2019). The introduction written must
contain the objective of the academic writing. This objective determines the conclusion in the
mind of readers. The academic writing should always be objective based as object is must while
writing something. This objective always be in passive voice instead using of active voice. The
writing must make use of the noun and phrases of noun (Windle, 2017). This is based on the
research instead of personal feelings. Pronouns like 'I', 'You' etc should be avoided. For
determine the subject we can use topic as a subject. The writer must focus on the objective of the
academic writing instead of arguments.

Grammatical complexity: This is the most important feature of academic writing. The
writing should be less complex as should be understand by the students. The grammatical
mistakes lead to creates the sentences more complex and hard to understand. The writer should
have good vocabulary for making good structured of the academic writing. The writer must not
use the complex words which are not so familiar because it makes the structured complex. In this
writing, the written structure is more complex than words spoken (KHIRI, 2019). The
grammatical mistakes make the structure unusable as it contains lots of mistakes for the reader.
There should not be repetition of the words or sentences in the content. If the writer is confused
about any word or phrase it can use dictionary or google to remove its confusion. The writer
must write it in a way that could be like he is explaining it to himself so it makes to write him
easily.

words having different meaning with the different sentences. While doing the academic writing
the writer must use the correct words with makes the correct meaning of that sentences. The

attractive for the reader. If the reader could not understand something than the writer can edit the

Personal Experience
As I started the BA (Hons) Business Studies with Foundation course the academic
writing helps me to improve myself in studies. By preparing the academic writing it makes me to
revise the matter of my studies very quickly. I used to make proper structure of the academic
