Report
AI Summary
This report presents a comprehensive network design for Advanced Medicos Limited (AML), a digital health company aiming to upgrade its network to support web-based healthcare services. The report begins by analyzing the existing network infrastructure, including user communities and backbone devices across two headquarters buildings and a branch office. It then outlines the network requirements, proposes a new logical network design, and details the IP addressing scheme for sub-networks. The report also discusses the applications required, such as Microsoft Office, Cisco WebEx, and other software. Finally, it concludes with an overview of the IP allocation process and the benefits of the proposed design. The report successfully addresses the future network requirements of AML, providing a detailed network design, IP allocation, and subnet calculation.

Summary
The report aims to study the network infrastructure requirements of the institute Advanced
Medicos Limited or AML. The report then provides the requirement summary along with
proposing a new network design based on the requirements and mention the benefits
compared to the old design. Then after describing the IP allocation process the report ends
with observations, given in concluding notes.

Introduction
The report begins by discussing about the user communities and backbone devices of
the network of AML (Advanced Medicos Limited). Then, the requirement summary is given
and network design for future requirements is drawn (Sari et al., 2018). After describing the
IP allocation process and subnet calculation, the report ends with observations in the
conclusion section.

In the existing network of AML there exists two wings of the headquarters, wing A
and wing B. These two buildings are connected by an ethernet cable between their routers in
Local Area Connection (LAN) and communicates with each other through their web portal
(Leon, Parra & Bermudez, 2018). Wing A operates software and marketing divisions. Wing
B operates Production and administration divisions and also acts as the sever farm.

After the expansion of AML, both the IP address requirements of both wings of the
headquarters increase significantly for serving additional devices as well as laptops. A
wireless access point is also placed in wing A for serving network access to portable devices
throughout the campus (Popovski et al., 2018). A new branch office is also added 100 km
away from the headquarters which also hosts wireless access points to provide network to
laptops if required. Total IPs required by the branch including the servers is 34, one in each
floor of the building.
Applications
For providing new facilities like WLAN as well as videoconferencing services along
with the regular operations of the company, as also preventing cyber-attacks, several software
applications are required (Zhang, Amin & Westphal, 2017, August). These are Microsoft
Office 2016, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Windows 10 Professional, Tally ERP 9,
Open HRMS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Norton 360, Microsoft IIS, Visual Studio .Net, Cisco
WebEx communication and installable apps and applications for accessing the web portal.
