My career as a Teacher
Teaching profession is my career. I have this special love for children and I always
want to be close to them. I choose to pursue a bachelor in education because it happens to be
one of the critical activities in the society today (Valtierra, 2016). Teachers have what it takes
to improve the world. It feels excellent to be part of this executive profession with the hope of
one day becoming a person who the younger generation can look up to (Shiach & Livingston,
2010).
During my education programme, I always chose classes which are in line with my
career. These classes ranged from the third world culture, psychology, and different
disciplines. I also spend a lot of my time observing classroom behaviors and teaching Sunday
school children in my local church (Valtierra, 2016).My love for children, combined with my
experience together with my education helps me to fit in the teaching career. I also acquired a
lot of skills from teachers who taught me. These great teachers were always fair, set high
expectations, used humor, and they were too good at explaining content (Shiach &
Livingston, 2010). They had excellent communication skills and understood well their
subjects. This is the kind of the teacher I also want to become someday
I love my career because it gives me a chance to sit down with youngsters and get to
tell them about a bright future they have a head (Shiach & Livingston, 2010). A good teacher
is not only able to explain content but also inspires other people (Livingston, 2014). A good
teacher can easily convince a student that his goals are achievable. A good teacher does not
leave students with unanswered questions. She has to make everything clear and make sure

that the students understand (Brooks, 2016). She always comes up with better ways to
explain content because students learn by the use of different methods.
In the future, I would want to see children learning in a comfortable and safe
environment meant to boost their self-esteem. High self-esteem will help them pursue their
goals. As a teacher, I want to assist them in their subjects and also in the different area of
their lives (Shiach & Livingston, 2010). I am so privileged to have the chance of shaping the
lives of people (Brooks, 2016). Teaching career will help me to contribute to the society by
impacting the younger generation effectively.
However, teaching career has many challenges. It is not easy to inspire other human
beings or to mold their character (Brooks, 2016). Some students are in school because their
parents forced them and most of them do not like learning (Brooks, 2016). Students learn
each day though some may not be learning what the teacher is teaching. Thus it is also
necessary for the teacher to be teaching about character and morals.
