Challenges faced by the Business United college are -
Isolation — Students who are attending online lectures in times of Covid — 19 face his
difficulty as they feel isolated.
Limited cognitive ability — Students of Business United face this challenge as online lectures
limits their cognitive and imaginative thinking. Therefore, they are not able to communicate
effectively.
Increased reading — This factor is challenging to students as there is immense amount of only
reading and reading until they lose their interest.
Barriers to effective communication -
Technical barriers — Due to poor Wi-Fi connection and teachers using old laptops the pages
fail to upload creating major barrier to students.
Emotional barriers — Not having one-to-one interaction with teachers, students and their peers
feel isolated resulting to become barrier.
Physical barriers — Students find difficulty in sitting for longer periods while attending lectures
which creates health problems.
Noise barriers — Some students constantly interrupting becomes a noise barrier to other
students.
Cultural Barriers — Students find difficulties in interacting with other students with different
languages which becomes major barrier in effective communication.
Effective strategies to overcome communication barriers –
Effective strategies are as follows –
Don't hesitate to reach out for help — Students should not hesitate to reach out for help. This
will not only increase their grades but also will improve their performance in studies. This will
be an effective strategy for students as well as teachers.
Proper etiquettes — Students should be in proper etiquettes and manners while they attend
online lectures as teachers are able to see their actions while teaching them. Students should pay
attention to their behaviour while attending online lectures (Dhawan, 2020).

Connect with teachers — Students should connect with teachers while attending online class.
This will make the communication more effective and teachers will be able to know the students
wants and requirements concerning subject materials.
Proper language — Students should use proper language while communicating with teachers so
that they are able to understand what teacher is trying to interpret and what they are learning.
This strategy will become helpful when students peruse this for enhancing their knowledge.
Ensure efficient connection — Students should follow this strategy of maintaining efficient
connections so that they are able to access all necessary information which they require for their
studies provided by online lectures.
Importance of Cultural awareness
Cultural awareness is defined as the awareness that different cultures imbibe in their
behaviour that is they perceive a notion of what their culture follows (Stancikas, 2019). This
awareness is necessary for people who strictly follow their culture.
Cultural awareness is very important for prospect that it verifies what a person's culture
is. It becomes an important aspect in the language medium as it helps to know that from which
background or culture the person is representable. Culture awareness helps in knowing the
medium of communication so that it becomes effective and easy to communicate in their
language which different people prefer. Also, it enable in creating a positive culture where staff
work in effective way. Besides, employees get to know about each other culture, ethics, values,
etc.
