1.0 Self-reflection on personal learning and
development, and the transferable skills
1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personal development is a continuous process that aids an individual in
identifying and assessing varied skills which further helps them in making relevant
and positive choices (Imai, Et. Al., 2017). Self -reflection towards my personal
development is very important for me as it helps in gaining various insights about
assessing and analyzing varied skills that I posses. My approach to personal
learning and development is to prepare a plan and work accordingly so as to gain
learning and knowledge from my curriculum activities. Firstly, I would like to measure
my past performance through my report cards and asking from my peers, teachers,
family etc. I will set clear goals and objectives that help me in enhancing my
knowledge in business and management. Then, I assess what things or situations
worked for me well or I would like to analyze my strengths and weaknesses. After
that, I start to give myself some useful and small tasks such as to build my
communication skills better through reading literature and practice interacting with
my friends. In this learning process, I also try to improve my existing skills and
knowledge. I belief to get a deeper insight and put all my resources in delving into
single trait of my character. It helps me developing myself in a slow and continuous
way. I also left some scope of failure as this encourages me to gain a skill in a
desperate way. At the end stage of this plan, I review myself and check my attained
skills and knowledge.
Besides this, I would like to follow various learning and development approach
such as through social, cognitively means and by personal experiences. Social
learning helps me to learn differential things from my own surroundings. It helps me
to retain the learned information that further aids me in developing my character.
Through cognitive approach of learning, I learned to understand the information and
restore it to keep in my mind for a prolonged period. It helps me in developing my
mind by injecting every single piece of information. Experiential learning helps me to
learn by doings things practically and personal experiences. This can be done
through observation or attending some situation. This develops me as it helps me in
doing things effectively by practicing for many times.

can help me in differential job profiles that I seek to perform in future. Varied

encouragement for taking initiatives and empower followers. For being a good
leader, I have learned to listen actively to my peers and professors. I demonstrated
discipline in my character and also inspired others. I asked for more responsibility in
given assignment from my professors so as prove myself as good leader. I also get
involved in sports activities to flaunt my leadership skills. Teamwork skills are
defined as different abilities of several members that work together for a mutual
objective (Sivan, 2017). I had develop my teamwork skills by participating in various
group activities. In these activities, my team have been to asked to present a
marketing model of Tesco and various other assignments were also given to us. I
also learned to contribute my best in attaining team goals. I understand that
teamwork can only be done if every member in group perform their task to best of
their capabilities. Organization skills involves various techniques that aids
