INTRODUCTION
Communication skill plays significant role in the life of individuals as it helps in achieving desire goals and objectives
of individuals. This leaflet is based on problems faced by teachers and students in online lectures due to Covid-
19 pandemic.
Barriers to effective communication
The communication barriers which are effecting the teaching method in the college are as follow-
Technical barriers- In online classes it is important to have strong internet connection for effective
understanding and learning. Due to poor connection students miss the few topics of the lesson.
Emotional barriers- The parents are not able to have face to face interaction with the teachers in order to
know the performance of their child. Due to which they feel demotivated and lead of lack of interest in
students.
Physical barrier- Due to online classes students are not present in the classroom and are not able to pay full
attention to the online lectures.
Noise barriers- Due to covid-19 situation classes are conducted online due to which there is lot of noise from
the background of the students.
Effective strategies to overcome communication barriers
Here are various strategies which will help in establishing effective communication while conducting online
classes.
The college must develop their own portal so that less technical problems take place and students are
suggested to use high speed internet connection so that less problems due to internet take place.
Teachers should focus on establishing interaction with the students so that they remain focused and pay full
attention to the lectures.
In order to overcome the noise problem, the teachers have the mute option on their portal so while
explaining the topic they can mute the students so no noise take place. After completion of topic they can
unmute the students so that they would be able to ask their doubts and problems related to the topic
After discussion with the parents one particular day should be decided by the management of the college for
conducting a virtual parent teacher meeting in which they would be effectively discuss the performance of the
students.
Importance of cultural awareness
Cultural awareness is important as it helps in effective understanding of the different beliefs, values and customs in
order to work in team and able to attain the desire goals and objectives. The cultural awareness is important due to following
reasons-
It will help in building strong relationship among the employees so that they would able to understand each other.
As this helps in carrying the work in team in most effective manner so that the objective of the business would be
achieved.
It helps in understanding the behaviour of the client so that organisation would able to make changes in order to
meet the expectation of the potential clients.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it has been concludes that communication is important and business organisations must
take measures to establish effective communication at the workplace.
