Research approach and methodology:
Approach:
One of the most important part of the research work is the research approach and
methodology. This describes the way in which a research has been conducted, the way in which
the information has been gathered in the system and the sources of the information gathered
(Attia & Edge, 2017). The research approach acts as a guide for the researcher such that they can
perform their research is much more organized manner. Primarily there are two approaches in
which research can be conducted, and they are, the inductive approach and the deductive
approach. The first is the inductive approach is the way in which the research is conducted by the
development of new theories (Kumar, 2019). The other one is the deductive approach that begins
with the statement of thesis, and analyze the entire research based on the existing theories and by
surveying the people. The response is used for the purpose of data analysis of the research. For
the purpose of this research we have considered the deductive approach, where the theories
established by the scholars are used for the research.
Research Design:
For the purpose of the evaluation of the research process, the research design guidelines
are used. With the help of the correct research design the data can be collected more accurately
in the system (Mayer, 2017). There are mainly three types of research design that is used for the
purpose of the research and they are, exploratory, explanatory and descriptive research
technology. The explanatory research design is the way in which the individual occurrences of
the research is summarized for an accurate outcome. The exploratory research design is the way
in which the various ideas are analyzed and acknowledged such that a conclusion can be drawn

for the research. The descriptive research design is the way in which suitable information reading
the research is chosen for obtaining the outcome of the research. It is capable of making
decisions with respect to the research (Moeed & Rofe, 2019). For the purpose of this research we
will make use of the descriptive research methodology where we will gather information and
evidences from the scholarly articles.
Research philosophy:
This part of the methodology helps in the process by which the information can be obtained. In
order to get deeper knowledge of the trends in Business Systems Analysis, we need to follow an
appropriate research philosophy (Gordana & Mark, 2019). There are three types of the research
philosophy which includes positivism, interpretivism and lastly, the realism. Positivism is chosen
for the process of this research as it analyses the logical ideas and hidden facts for the reaching
an outcome of the study. The interpretivism is discarded as it makes use of the complex
structures and analyses the data with respect to the global aspect. The realism is discarded as
well as it discusses about the human interactions that are needed for analyzing the outcome of the
research (Kebritchi, McCaslin & Rominger, 2019).

There are two main sources of data that is taken into consideration while conducting the
research. They are the primary sources of data and the secondary sources of data. The primary
data are gathered from the experts and the people with the help of the surveys and interviews.
The validity of these data are much more than that of any other sources of the data. The next is
the secondary sources of data. These are the ones which are gathered form the sources like the

internet and scholarly articles (Quinlan et al., 2019). The validity of the scholarly article is
considered more than the internet blogs and articles that are in use. For the purpose of this
research we will consider scholarly articles as the source of data. With these gathered data we
will conduct quantitative analysis of the data which will help us in reaching a conclusion for the
research that has been undertaken (Gray, 2019).
Detailed description of the identified trends:
All this while, we have calculated and predicted the upcoming of the next year by checking and
analyzing the trend of the year previous. Hence the five recent most trends that have been found
are discussed below.
1. Digital Transformations:
Digital transformation has been recently, the most discussed trend or issue among
all business organizations. Some people could relate them in theoretically while some
cannot even understand or feel the change. But, almost every company across every
nation is undergoing this transformation (Vial, 2019). There are various issues, problems
and difficulties which a company or business organizations have to face daily. These
issues can be mitigated up to certain extent with the benefits of technologies. But
undergoing through such a transformation can be an issue as well, especially if the
workers are unable to cope up with it. That is where the need of a business analyst or a
project manager arises. These people can advise and guide a business organization to get
maximum benefit from this technology in their business, like using of the predictive
analytics and artificial intelligence.

There is a significant commitment needed to make this transformation successful.
The company must consider need of data scientists, artificial intelligence software and
tools and take wise decisions regarding their future. Their wrong decisions can have

2. Business Analysis requirement increase in every team
Business analysts were always needed for agile projects. An agile expert said that
the work delivered without a business analyst is often faulty and not reusable. Hence,
they do not meet market requirement and must be done again until they do (Aithal, 2016).
The new thing about this is that the need for these business analysts in various
organizations is increasing rapidly as they have started to acquire more and more
business analysis techniques and tasks and the benefits of doing so is also high. Every
agile project teams now keep a business analyst for howsoever little their job is for the
better outcomes it produces (Richards et al., 2019).
3. Embracement of product centric perspective over project centric ones
Previously, several project managers developed a project centered idea of doing
work. This was traditionally the way they learned from their seniors before giving them
some kind of authority and even some identity and life of their own. With the agile
systems arriving, this focus on projects has shifted to products. The new business
managers have realized that the customer does not care about the project or the idea
behind it but they care about the product or the end result produced by it. More and more
project managers have become comfortable with this idea, even those who grew up in a
traditional environment (Sanz-Llopis & Ostermann, 2020).

Traditionally, business architecture models were considered useless as it was time

quickly and frequently and also welcomed changes.
But recently, organizations are realizing the need for having a good business
model as it has a lot of benefits. It can help in finding the budget requirement for a
project, can show the relationship of the various processes in a business, especially in a
complicated one (Vial, 2019). It also helps in finding the new features that can be added
to their product in order to make it more useful and valuable and understand what a
business really needs before coming to a conclusion which is not beneficial.
This may not allow for much change to the work or any rework or rebuilding
which were always welcome in a company. But if it can deliver valuable products every
time and understand the priorities of the business, then it is gladly accepted.

of the enterprise
The Centers of Excellence and the Project Management Offices are working
together more often than not in order to take any decision, to supervise, support, develop,
and implement new technologies and tools in a company. This leads to an increase in the
number of business analysts and project managers and even members of the agile project
areas to provide greater support. This helps them to work as a team ensuing constant

The benefits of this combined team is increasing more and more making it more trending
in recent times ensuring its increase in future (Malik, Ahmad & Hussain, 2019).
Impact of the trends on stakeholder requirements:
In a business one of the key component is the stake holders. The stakeholders are the
ones who are directly or indirectly related to the company or the business. The key stakeholder
of the business are the investors, senior management, information technology department,
finance, employees, human resources, marketing, and a few more. These are the major
stakeholders who are affected by the incorporation of the new trends in the organization. Now let
us discuss about the roles played by each of them and how the implementation of the new
technology or techniques in the business analysis is going to affect them.
Senior management: The role played by the senior management is huge in case of the
business sectors. The major decisions in the sectors are taken by the senior management team of
the organization. Thus they are ones who will be affected the most. The tactical and technical
skills of the organization increases and helps in the process of decision making the management
stronger (Bourne, 2016).

model is not possible and the spiral model is very complicated to deal with. Thus the efficiency
of the project management is expected to increase (de Oliveira & Rabechini Jr, 2019).
Analysts: The analysts are the ones who are responsible for taking decisions regarding
the business. They are ones who determines the requirements for the business. They develop
technical solutions for the problems faced by the business. Thus with the implementation of the
above mentions methods in the analysis business system, the job of the analysts becomes easier.
Reflection:
I think that the job of the system analysts is crucial for the business organization. They
are ones who makes the major decisions for the business which is finalized by the management.
They understand the requirements of the functionalities better than the other involved in the
organization (Layton & Ostermiller, 2017). According to me, transforming a business to digital
platform is great as it helps in easing up the process of the business and increases the accuracy
and efficiency of the business. Digital media helps in providing a fast and effective solution.
Hence it is a good choice for the business.
The Agile project management technique is another good choice for the business. In this
ever changing world of business and technology static business methodologies faces a lot of
problems. Change is inevitable and prime necessary for the development of business, hence this
can be considered good for the business process.

the customer barely aware or interested in the projects that are undertaken by the companies.
