2PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Introduction
The project plan is based on installation of a wind turbine for the community energy
scheme. The installation work of the wind turbine is being taken place between April as well as
September next year (Fera et al. 2014). The plan is based on management of the installation
work of wind turbine so that the installation project work is completed on scheduled timeframe.
The plan is included purchasing, logistics, installing, connecting as well as commissioning of the
wind turbine for the local community. The project is succeed when the project is competed on
estimated price as well as scheduled time before the winter weather (Gatzert and Kosub 2016).
The project manager is responsible to perform all the project activities as well as identify project
risks. The estimated budget for the project is £600K.
The report is consisted of a project context so that the reader can understand the
installation plan activities such that the entire project related work are performed efficiently. A
project rationale is also provided such that there is familiar with the purpose of this project as
well as reasons behind installation of the wind turbine. The project management tools are used
into the project plan such as PESTLE analysis, Work breakdown structure for analyzing the
project components, Gantt chart for analyzing the project schedule. There is also discussing of
Risk analysis to identify the project risks, RACI matrix and Stakeholder management strategy for
the key stakeholders so that the project can get success and familiar with all the project phases
required to complete the installation work.
2. Project context
In most of the cases, it is seen that income from the generation of wind comes from the
incentives of government plus electricity as a while into the national grid. The project plan is

based on installation of a wind turbine for the community energy scheme. The project is
benefited with engagement as well as sharing of the local community to implement successful
projects so that the commercial developers can create various developmental models (Anderson
2008). The possible challenges into the installation work are local opposition to the wind energy,
connection issues of the generation technology to grid, finding the funding sources and secure
rights to use land. Those challenges cause delay and prevent the project plan to be completed on
scheduled time (Kerzner 2017). The vision of the project is to undertake the wind development
project so that it can reduce the environmental drivers in order to reduce the emissions of carbon.
The project manager takes advice from the top level management team to help as well as guide
the project team members.
In order to make sure that about the best outcome of this project is to establish of
communication plan with local community so that all the stakeholders can identify the site where
the installation work is performed (PMI 2008). This project plan benefits by helping to keep
more energy dollars into the local economy, add the technical skills to the community, reduce
dependence on the fossil fuels as well as help to connect consumption. The initial scope of this
project is to identify a site consideration of the commercial viability of this project so that it can
start at scheduled time (Hillson and Simon 2007). Development of this project generated an
estimated payback to make this project plan possible. It determines that the project can support to
the community energy scheme.
3. Rationale for proposed plan
The sustainable energy requirements and global climatic changes are the issues which can
challenge the community. The project plan is proposed to address the economical

competitiveness as well as protection of the environment. The proposed plan is required as the
wind technology is being changing quickly as it requires model to adapt and reflect on the
implementation of wind turbine. In this particular project plan, the project management tools are
included so that the project work is performed well based on the project needs (Webb 2003). All
the tools help the project manager to perform their work in organized way such that the project
team members can efficiently collaborate with each others.
The plan is proposed so that the project manager can identify the external factors which
provide a huge effect on the project work. Work breakdown structure and Gantt chart is analyzed
into the project plan so that the project team member can follow the project schedule so that the
work will be completed in scheduled time (Martin and Spolander 2012). It helps to track the
project progress as well as project status. The risk management plan is proposed into this report
so that all possible risks are identified as well as mitigated such that the project manager can
provide a better organizational performance (Anthony et al. 2006). The stakeholder management
plan is also provided such that the project stakeholders can engage with each others for purpose
of communicating with each others.

10. Conclusion
It is concluded that the project is performed based on the project needs to install a wind
turbine. In order to complete the project plan, the project manager prepares a project schedule so
that the team members can work according to the dates which are mentioned in the plan. A Gantt
chart is provided such that it can document activities of the project and timeline. A stakeholder
management plan is prepared so that key project team members can engage into the project work
so that they can communicate the project related issues and problems with each other. In the
meeting, the problems are resolved. A risk management plan is also prepared such that on time
before the project will get completed, the project team member should plan to identify the risks
and implement strategies to overcome with project problems. In order to perform the project
plan, the project should complete in scheduled time between April to September and the project

1. PESTLE Analysis
The power of wind is fastest growing form of the generation of electricity in UK with
larger share of the renewable electricity generation capacity into the country as per the energy
associations. Among all the aspects of the PESTLE analysis, political factor is the main aspect
which is caused because of governmental incentives for the renewable sources of energy, access
to the electricity grid plus sales. Following table analysis the six factors in order to determine the
external environment of the wind energy association:
Factors Details
Political In UK, there is clean energy plan as well as creating an environmental
protection agency which are approved as well as implemented under the
guidance of the energy. It will enhance the measures of the federal
administration plus states on the wind energy (Fera et al. 2014).
Economical The installation work of power capacity of wind was over 35,000 megawatts
to make the world a leader of wind energy. Sharing of the wind energy into
the electrical mix is increasing to 6 percent by the year 2020 as compared to
3.3% in the year 2015 as per the Energy Administration (Gatzert and Kosub
2016).
Social As per the survey, it is analyzed that the Americans are supporting the wind
energy in the theory while the communities are opposed to the wind energy

due to various reasons. The sound provides impacts on the wildlife into the
global warming plus security of energy. The wind energy plans is creating
300,000 jobs to bring the employees to around 800,000. The wind turbines
are affected the community as mostly they are complaining about the sound
plus vibration of the wind turbines (Fera et al. 2014). The sound is at
minimal, while it is disturbing the inhabitants to some extent.
Technological The wind turbines are operated in the country by means of energy digital.
The UK government is continued to promote the technological development
throughout bids. The company has more than 23,000 turbines for electricity
production from the wind energy.
Legal With prior approval from the government, the installation work of the wind
turbine is being performed.
Environmental The installation work of the turbine is occurred in such a way that it
provides impacts on the environment due to the wastage of the raw
materials as well as other equipments. It will affect the environmental
friendly environment so that all the rivers, plants and surroundings are being
affected.
2. Work Breakdown Structure
WBS is a method to get complex as well as multi-step project to be done. It is a method
to divide the larger projects into smaller elements so that the project can conduct faster as well as
effectively. WBS is shown in two forms such as in table form as well as hierarchical tree

9PROJECT MANAGEMENT
structure which can outline the project activities plus break into manageable elements. The goal
of WBS is to create larger project into manageable form to lead the production of project team
members plus easier project management (Aucoin 2007). In the following WBS structure, there
are five phases such as Phase 1: Installation of wind turbine, Phase 2: Assessment of the sites,
Phase 3: Evaluation of the project plan, Phase 4: Development of the project plan and Phase 5:
Project closure. Under each of these five phases, there are sub-phases. Each of the main phases is
divided into sub-phases so that the user can able to understand the elements with respect to each
project activities (Keeling 2000). All the project phases are fundamental to plan, organize plus
evaluate this project to install wind turbine for energy scheme. Following table shows the
activities of the work breakdown structure in tabular form and hierarchical structure of WBS is
shown as:
