AI Summary
The importance of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is paramount in effective project management. This summary delves into various academic perspectives and practical applications to highlight its role in ensuring project success. The WBS acts as a foundational tool that breaks down projects into manageable sections, facilitating better planning, execution, and control. It aids in assigning responsibilities, allocating resources, and monitoring progress. Studies have shown that effective implementation of WBS can lead to improved risk management and quality assurance (Mir & Pinnington, 2014; Yang, 2008). The analysis includes insights from Pemsel & Wiewiora (2013) on the role of Project Management Offices in acting as knowledge brokers through WBS. Additionally, the work by Siami-Irdemoosa et al. (2015) emphasizes the need for tailored WBS development to address complexities in specific projects like underground construction. Overall, this synthesis underscores that mastering WBS techniques is crucial for any project manager aiming at delivering successful projects.

Project Design for quality management of road resurfacing activities
Introduction
According to Burke (2013), quality management plan is a fundamental component of
project management and execution. This quality plan is a response to the tender request to
rehabilitate (resurface) existing roads at Perth War Cemetery. Specifically, the plan aim at
describing how the project will be implemented throughout its lifecycle, and how the project
team will accomplish, maintain and converse project value procedures. This plan will also
include relevant processes that will be involved in quality planning, assurance, control and
continuous development.
Therefore, the quality plan for the rehabilitation of road networks at Perth War
Cemetery will establish various activities and procedures that will ultimately ensure quality
conclusion of the project. Precisely, the primary purpose of this quality plan will include:
Ensuring quality planning of the project
Giving clear definition of project quality management procedures
Clearly defining various project quality assurance activities
Explaining how quality control activities will influence project conclusions
Examining acceptable project quality ideals
Based on the above purposes, this project quality plan will provide a solid foundation for
efficacious, well-timed and quality execution of project activities. It will form the common
principles that will be applicable throughout the project lifecycles. Moreover, this project
quality plan will provide all activities that will be necessary for attainment of the set project
objectives and ensuring high quality level. The plan take in consideration various operational,
administrative and accounting aspects of the project.
Indeed, facilitating compliance with all pertinent rules and procedures can be a very

successful outcome of the road resurfacing project. Additionally, any possible risks or issues
pertaining to quality are adequately communicated to all project stakeholders.
Summary of project requirements
Our project team will ensure prompt and quality implementation of the project objectives.
Specifically, the project team will be expected to:
Remove and dispose old retractable bollards along Perth War Cemetery road
Grind and dispose road surfacing materials
Reconstruct the identified sections of the base course
Conduct primer sealing and asphalt surfacing
Mount new bollards along the rehabilitated road as shall be directed by the project
manager
Completely restore project site and ensure well-ordered and tidy surroundings
Specifically, the project team will familiarize themselves with these project requirements
and ensure quality output (Kerzner, 2013). As such, a technical review of these requirements
will conducted to ensure compliance with the set quality specifications.
Project quality planning requirements
According to Kuo et al. (2010), quality planning is majorly done to determine the
anticipated quality and how such quality will be quantified. This will entail the identification
of diverse quality requirements for the tendered project and how our project team will exhibit
compliance. The team will establish various project quality standards and will include
creating quality checklists and executing different remediation undertakings.

Our quality assurance team will majorly focus on relevant project processes and
provide confidence to the clients that all quality requirements will be met, and that all project
procedures are effective. In order to boost clients’ confidence on the inherent ability of the
company to produce quality results, an iterative quality process will be established during all
phases of the project lifecycle. This will facilitate an accurate analysis of the process data and
continuous improvements of the project procedures.
For correct identification, access, response, observation and control pf project quality
procedures, all the identified project stakeholders will be incorporated in quality assurance
planning (Meredith and Mantel Jr, 2011). For example, the project manager will schedule
regular meetings to review the outcomes of diverse quality assurance activities. Similarly, all
the processes enhancement efforts will be documented, implemented, and appropriately

Our project quality control will involve monitoring the specific project products to
establish whether they are meeting various performance measurement thresholds that are
defined in the quality plan (Meredith and Mantel Jr, 2011). The quality control program also
ensure ascertaining whether all the standard operating procedures have been met. According
to Burke (2013), project implementation is undoubtedly a very vigorous process that requires
effective project control to ensure that all the stipulated project purposes are duly met.
Our project quality control s majorly focused on ensuring effective project delivery by
monitoring and validating the acceptable quality standards. Specifically, the quality control
processes will involve:
The correct verification, validation and the observation of various project procedures
to ensure that the stipulated project scope and quality are being fulfilled.
The inspection of project deliverables and correct documentation to ensure that the
stakeholders and clients’ quality specifications are being met.
The authentication of diverse client requirements to ensure strict adherence to various
