INTRODUCTION
Present report will be based on several topics like globalisation and corporate social
responsibility. In addition, Immigration and law and individual will also be discussed. The
advantages and disadvantages of globalisation will also be described. Furthermore, there is an
insight view of immigration in UK. Lastly this assessment will discuss about law and the
individuals. Additionally, there is an assessment on how effective corporate social responsibility
(CSR) in UK.
Task
Globalisation
The meaning of this term is expanding business all across the world. It can also be said
that it is a process in which various enterprises make investments to increase their business
internationally. It happens with help of different technologies available in marketplace.
Globalisation can be beneficial or profit less for entities depending upon what strategies they
apply for it (Baylis, Smith and Owens, 2017). In case of UK, it is also one of those countries
which faces both pros and cons of globalisation. There are several advantages and flaws of this
process that are given below:
Advantages: UK organisations have seen huge growth due to trading globally. It contributes to
increase employment and wealth to the nation. Because of this, the resources can be allocated
effectively to different productive sectors (Chojnick and Ragot, 2016). It is taking job
opportunities for people to next level which helps to improve living standard of individuals.
Citizens can get employment from extension to international markets. Big enterprises can also
create competitive advantage even if they sell products of normal quality. Furthermore, countries
like UK can be benefited in terms of scaled economy.
Disadvantages: There are various disadvantages of globalisation. Due to this, the job distribution
becomes unequal. Therefore, it is promoting poverty among citizens. Many of the employees of
UK organisations have been lost their jobs because the entities find workers from other countries
on very low salaries (Crane and Matten, 2016). This increases unemployment. Due to lack of
occupational mobility globalisation results in economic drive. It generates imbalance in
payments or can cause late payments. There are also various activities between UK and other
countries that generate imbalance between them.

Corporate social responsibilities
Corporate social responsibility is shortly called CSR which is a term that means efforts
and hard work of an enterprise to make positive changes in society (Harris and et. al. 2014).
They want to improve communities along with their business. These efforts may anything from
helping non profit firms financially or implementing environmental friendly policies at
workplace. It affects society in various aspects.
Advantages: Due to this, enterprises are bound to do business ethically. Through CSR, entities
provide customer satisfaction and benefits in terms of giving products of high quality
in low prices. Along with this, they also attach some social message with the goods that can help
to improve moral values. It also motivates business entities to sell their products not just for their
own profit. It should be healthy and nominal in prices for consumers. In order to do it, they
organise various campaigns to help society in positive way. Furthermore, they can win trust of a
large section of people towards their brand and company which establishes positive market
image of them.
Disadvantages: Instead of being beneficial for public, CSR some drawbacks too. Therefore, at
times it is ineffective for creating moral and ethical values to communities. There are some
reasons of corporate social responsibilities to not implemented properly among people. Entities
often try to sell its products and items that are attaching some health messages with it. But
because of less awareness of people regarding their health and environment, it proves ineffective
in citizens (Maria Kielmas, 2017). Additionally, there are still several small business enterprises
that pay focus only to gain profits from their products even if selling low quality and expired
food items to people. Such enterprises do not think it will negatively impact on people's health.
They only work in direction to expand their business by hook or by crook.
Solution: The organisations that are only there to just earn lots of profits regardless of thinking
their products might harm customers. Government should first conduct surveys to find such
firms and then cancel their licence so that other enterprises also be aware of selling cheap
products with wrong messages associated with it.
Immigration
Immigration means moving permanently towards another country. It can be possible
even for non natives of that country (Hirst, Thompson and Bromley, 2015). Individuals migrate
in foreign countries for various reasons such as better job opportunity, further studies etc. There

is a basic legal procedure for persons who are willing to shift in other country from their native
place. Different countries have several laws and legislations for this. When a person shifts by
following all the legal process it is not a problem. However, at times people use unauthorised
documents to enter a country. Problem occurs when illegal immigration takes place in a country
like UK. Which negatively impacts nation and its citizens as it can be a terrorist activity to enter
and spread terrorism in country. By this, public property can be damaged badly and many people
may die and have severe injuries. So, this is the main issue associated with it that can prove to be
very dangerous and life threatening experience for people. There is another issue that is leaking
confidentiality of country. The unauthorised person who have been entered illegally in nation
can leak confidential information of countries like UK.
The solution for this problem is that UK government should take crucial steps like
applying strict passport and visa policies for foreigners so that illegal activities cannot take place
in the country.
Laws and individuals
There are numerous laws and regulations to protect individual rights in UK that are given
below:
The human rights act: This law was passed in 1998 in UK. It enables individuals to defend his or
her rights in UK courts. Also, it compels public entities like government, local councils and
police (Ruhs and Vargas-Silva, 2014). It has been made to protect all the citizens old or young,
rich as well as poor. People can use it to save their rights to achieve justice for themselves.
CONCLUSION
From this report it can be concluded that the UK economy is growing very fast with time
and utilising globalisation and CSR to achieve robust growth in economy. Furthermore, there are
several issues taking place like illegal immigration of unauthorised people in nation (Ioannou
and Serafeim, 2015). Furthermore, there are also occurrence of practices like breach of law
which is affecting citizens in UK.
