Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined as business approach which is adopted
by an organisation to achieve sustainable development. This approach assists business entity in
achieving social as well as economic benefit.
It is also considered as the tactics or procedures implemented in order to increase the
positive effect of business operations on society. In other words, the purpose of corporate social
responsibility is to cater needs of people in society and delivers high level of satisfaction to
clients. In today's scenario, it has become important for an organisation to fulfil its social
responsibility. As this strategy or activity will assist business entity in gaining the competitive
advantage as well as increasing sustainability.
