Disruptive Technology Impact Case Study

This case study assignment requires students to analyze a 21st-century disruptive technology and its potential impact on a fictitious domestic organization's business and technology operations. The study should also explore how this technology might affect the organization's international technology operations, referencing specific sections from Laudon and Laudon's "Management Information Systems." Students are required to use a minimum of three external references, excluding the textbook, and must include references from www.cio.com and www.cioinsight.com. Additional sources from publications like Business Week, Computerworld, and Harvard Business Review are encouraged. The case study should be at least three pages long and focus on practitioner sources from 2014-2016.

- Challenge:
- Choose a 21st century+ disruptive technology, as described generally in Chapter 3 (Laudon and
Laudon): Section 3.1 Disruptive Technologies, that you believe might discernably impact the
business operations and / or the technology operations of a domestic fictitious organization
and discuss the impacts - 80% of Grade; and
- Discuss how this disruptive technology might (or might not) impact the international
technology operations of the organization, as described in Chapter 15 (Laudon and Laudon):
Section 15.3 Challenges Posed by Global Information Systems and Section 15.5 Challenges of
International Networks - 20% of Grade.
