“Why work for Uber”
Even after so many ethical challenges that the company faced recently, Uber seems to be
a good working environment for the drivers. This essay is to develop an understanding of the
reasons that work as a motivation for drivers to be associated with Uber.
Firstly, the company has easy hiring requirements that are itself a motivational factor to
choose this company. In order to support this argument, this is to state that the company does not
demand high skills from drivers and they may join the company by submitting their driving
license and basic driving experience. In addition to this, the company does not put the language
barrier for drivers and therefore who are not perfect with English can also join the company.
The second motivation for drivers to join Uber is the flexible schedule that this company
offers to them (medium.com, 2015). It means similar to any other regular jobs, shift hours for
drivers in Uber are not fixed. Drivers may pick a ride and can serve on behalf of the company
whenever it is convenient for them. In addition, this, as per the current policies and procedure of
Uber drivers has the liberty to leave the company.
The third reason to work for Uber is the good employment service that this company
offers to drivers. In the matter of workplace culture, salaries, benefits, holidays and other
employment services, Uber has good status. Drivers have another reason to work for this
company as it allows them to work as much they want to do and can earn more money.
In order to conclude this essay, this is to state that drivers may ensure their growth while
working with Uber as the company does not only provide a big platform of hiring but also held
to succeed in maintaining the current workforce.
