Introduction
Employability skills include responsibilities of employees with accurate skill sets in their
respective fields. It also includes skills of problem-solving, handling, strategy planning,
execution and implementation of strategies. This report contains all factors of strategy
implementation which impacts the performance of employees as well as firm. Team dynamics
can be measured on the basis of performance of the team as well as individuals. Problem-solving
strategies used by firms affect all departments of firm in every aspect. Strategy implementation
has positive as well as negative impacts on the performance of firm including financial and non-
financial factors. Roles of people of a team can be classified on the basis of performance factors.

1.1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
My responsibilities and performance objectives at the workplace can be defined as the follows:
ï‚· Team Work: I have analysed that the effectiveness of team performance is much better
when it is compared to individual performance. team performance largely depends upon
some properties like the equal level of employment from all team members and their
contribution towards the achievement of goals. In addition to this, supportive professional
behaviour also helps in increasing the confidence of the entire team.
ï‚· Communication: As per my opinion, effective communication system results in
developing understanding among employees to develop the team performance. In
addition to this, good communication among employees also results in reducing the risk
of conflicts and to improve the quality and suitability level of decisions (Weijerman, et.
al., 2018).
ï‚· Problem Solving: This is the main ability that I think I should possess to bear the
responsibility of a team leader at the workplace. Finding pout solutions and enabling the
employees to understand the same is that the main responsibility of a team leader while
handling a team for the completion of a particular task.
ï‚· Leadership: Effective leadership helps in improving team binding and motivates the
employees to achieve the objectives. I think that becomes an effective and supportive
team leader is one of my main responsibilities.
ï‚· Creativity: This quality of a professional helps in solving issues and problems and
develops an appropriate way to achieve the organizational target and goals. the main
work for which I have been appointed is the observation of the performance of employees
and presenting a report on the basis of my creativity level to develop a standardised
process for the employees. Thus, my main responsibility was to organize a training
session to make the employees understand their job roles and responsibilities (Shields, et.
al., 2015)

1.2 Evaluate own effectiveness against defined objectives
As I have been appointed as a team leader, my prime responsibility is to check the targets and
goals on a regular basis. I have analysed and observed the targets stated by the management was
relevant up to some extent as per the aim of the organization. On the basis of such analysis, I
have also implemented some procedures which may help in improving the efficiency of my team
that are as follows:
Increasing responsibility of team members: As per my creative planning, I have divided the
whole work responsibility among the team members to develop a sense of responsibility in them.
It would result in increasing the efficiency of the entire team.
Developing Knowledge: I have also arranged a training session for employees to improve the
level of knowledge among them. The increased knowledge of employee would result in
increasing the quality of results and would also help in adopting the changes in working with and
ease and flexibility.
Policies and Terms: I have deeply analysed the policies and terms of the organization. I came to
know that policies and terms are covering employment and health of the employees. On the basis
of which, I have demonstrated all conditions and terms to the employees to develop a sense of
taking care of them by the management. It would also help to motivate them towards goals and
targets (Holton, et. al., 2016).
Some internal and external effects of my steps are:
Internal effects:
Strength: The strategy implemented by me helps in improving the efficiency of team members as
they have started working hard on the basis of developed knowledge.
Weakness: The implemented process needs more than 3 months to show its effectiveness. Thus,
it can be considered as a slow process which may also impact the efficiency of the staff members
and other employees.
External effects:

Opportunities: Along with increasing the performance of employees, the improved quality would
also influence the employees to perform in a well-structured manner. It would also act as a
motivational factor at the workplace as employees will be ready to accept the challenges related
to the change in job roles and responsibilities (Zhou, et. al., 2017).
Threats: Time frame is the main threat of my professional and personal development plan. As the
time frame is too long, the organization would have to wait for 4-5 months to get effective and
appropriate output. In addition to this, market competition is also a major threat to the
organization.

On the basis of observation of team members, team leaders have implemented the relevant
strategy to develop and improve leadership, communication, presentation. communication and
other skills in the team members. The team leader has also planned to implement Maslow's
hierarchy theory of needs which mainly includes five factors named as physiological needs,
safety needs, belongings or love, esteem needs and self-actualization needs. Maslow had defined
that these needs are required to be fulfilled in order to motivate the employees to perform well at
the workplace.

2.1 Develop Solutions to work based problems
On the basis of the issue found, the team leaders have defined a number of issues related to
communication, leadership, listening, presentation, planning, professional knowledge, problem-
solving, teamwork, self-management and time management.
After that, team leaders have planned to organize the training sessions and seminars, team-
leading strategy, team meeting, communication and skill development, technological innovation
and group collaboration. All the learning methods are distinguished in three main sections named
as training, coaching and mentoring.
ï‚· Training: The team leader has planned to arrange training sessions on information
technology, professional skills, communication skills and presentations strategy. This will
be done with the help and support of the human resource management team. After
attending training sessions, the employees will be able to manage the tasks in an easy
manner and to communicate with each other without any problem and hesitation (Wise,
2017).
ï‚· Coaching: Coaching sessions will be arranged by team leaders and the HRM team to get
the best efforts of the employees. The coaching session on a regular basis would also help
the employees to develop the level of knowledge and problem-solving capabilities.
ï‚· Mentoring: Team leaders tend to act as a mentor for their team members and other
employees. The experience and skills shared by them increase the knowledge level of
employees. These experiences can help the employees to relate the critical situations and
finding out solutions. This also helps in developing a better employer-employee
relationship.
2.2 Communicate in a variety of styles and appropriate manner at various levels
The team leaders tend to implement dissimilar styles of communication like presentations,
telephonic communication skills, accept and giving criticism, supporting and motivating,
negotiation and persuading verbal communication listening and gathering information.

The telephonic skills help in improving the thinking capability of a professional related to the
expressions and willing of the employee. The employee can use phone class to make their
business point. Under presentation skills, the employees would be able to learn the use of audio
and visual graphics in a structural and logical manner. In addition to this, the employee also
becomes able to rapport with the customers. Thus, the employees can put the question to their
team leaders. The process of negotiation and persuading can help in creating a win-win situation
to the organization as well as to the employees. The accuracy is listening process would help the
employees to perform work with more accuracy (Kang and Sung, 2017).

3.1 Explain the roles people play in a team and how they can work together to achieve

Team and teamwork play an important role in achieving the goals and objectives of any firm or
business. The team involves people group working together for the fulfillment of a single
objective. In teamwork, every member of the team contributes to the success of team, firm or
business etc. Teams are formed in order to get complex tasks fulfilled efficiently by appointing
persons of different skill sets and knowledge for effective performance. Teamwork provides a
facility of dividing a complete task into segments and assigning different tasks to different
people as per their skills. Every individual of the team performs to achieve an overall objective.
For explaining the role of people in team Belbin team theory can be used. This theory provides a
facility to segregate these tasks into various roles including roles based on thoughts, roles based
on people and roles based on action. Roles of people in team include implementers, workers,
specialists, evaluators, coordinators and navigator etc. performance of all these roles helps to
attain an overall goal. Teamwork helps to share responsibilities among different people who are
specialist in their respective fields.
Action based roles include the role of implementer who takes initiatives to fulfill a task. These
people perform efficiently for overall profit and motivate others to work effectively. Action
based roles include people who work in an efficient and systematic way (Yammarino, et. al.,
2015).
Roles based on people include team workers who perform crucial tasks and help to reduce errors
and mistakes from tasks completed by others. These roles help to maintain coordination between
other people of the team and support them in the execution of work.
Thought based roles include knowledgeable and innovative people who help to complete the task
appropriately. These people help to analyze complex situations to find effective alternatives.
These people are specialist of some particular field and ability.
