Introduction
The skill which can be transferred to the employee as per the demand is identified as the
employability skill. This includes the technical and also the communication skills is the basic
demand to appoint the new person in the environment. Travelodge is the company which provide
hotel accommodation services in the United Kingdom. In this, it also explains the challenges
which are faced by the employee in the workplace. It also explains the time management strategy
which can be related to workplace management. Travelodge hotel has also identified the
strategies to reform the labour turnover.

1.1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
It is necessary to provide the quality of the performance which is provided by the individual in
this competitive environment, and it is the responsibility of the individual to maintain their own
performance activities sheet so they can able to evaluate the quality performance. As a manager,
certain responsibility needs to be fulfilled. As a manager of the tourism sector, there is various
responsibility which needs to be fulfilled. To become a self-maintaining it is necessary for every
person to complete their responsibility and duties in an effective manner. As a manager it is the
duties to identify the need of their patron and also satisfied their requirement, this helps the
Travelodge to maintain the benchmark in the cut-throat market of the tourism sector. As a
manager it needs to prepare some plan for the organization and the employee so that the
employee should work towards achieving the objectives'. As being a part of the Travelodge its a
responsibility of the manager to maintain the quality in the services which they provide to their
customer and also the level of hygiene is also maintained. The main responsibility which is
maintained by every manager in the workplace is that they can ensure that the dishonourable
actions do not exist in the working environment. There are different ways to evaluate the
potential of the manager-
The best way to identifying the development which is needed by the individual is to
evaluate and compare the work of the person with another person in the same entity same
level, it's a responsibility of the manager to motivate the employee to do the work in an
effective manner.
Behaviour is the way to get success in any environment and it is necessary for the
manager to maintain the behaviour which can be suitable with the employee, client and
colleagues (Quendler and Lamb, 2016).
Communication skills help in maintaining the relationship between the employees, and
also help in developing the team performance. Good communication skill is also
improving the decision-making process. It's a responsibility of the Manager to maintain
the two way communication so that the employee feel free to share their views.

For executing the performance of the individual in an effective manner it needs to evaluate the
individual performance. There are various techniques and tools can be used by the manager to
evaluate own strength and weakness. This will help to identify the understandable viewpoint
regarding the action done and also identify the capability of its own such as the knowledge and
skill which it has the potential to do the work in an effective way. Communication behavioural is
very important to maintain a fair relationship with the client and other employees in the entity.
As a manager provide the assistance to the users in the finest way it is necessary to understand
the communication and interpersonal skill of the employee and the problem which they are faces
in the organization. There are some effective way which can be used by the manager to evaluate
its own effectiveness and that's are-
Job performed by the manager maintains the quality in the way which can be accepted
after identifying the need of the patron. The job of the manager is not containing any
unethical points it can be done as per the policy of the organization.
It is necessary by the manager to grab the opportunity which can be beneficial for them
as well as the organization but such grabbing not be done in an illegal way. This
opportunity grabbing is to work as a motivational factor for another employee.
As a manager, it's my strength's to involving the co-workers in the decision making, it brings
some innovative ideas which can be helpful in decision making. It is important and responsible
for the manager to complete the work on the given time frame and it's a strength of my to
complete the work on the given timeframe. It is necessary to adapt the new environments by
giving the proper training to the employee for understanding the changes in the environment and
its a weakness to explain the changes come in the competitive environement. As a manager, i
gained the knowledge which helps me to identify the needs of the customer and it helps in
analysing the performance of employees.

There is always a possibility of improvement and also it helps in stepping into the next position.
It is important to maintain a good relationship with the critiques or constructive with them, it will
help as a manager to improve the skill and level of competency to deal with the client. For the
recommendation for improvement, some initiative has to be taken as manager for improvement-
Involving the coworker- The workplace in which every employee cooperate with each
other with sharing the skills and the knowledge which they have. This type of
collaboration helps in creating the workplace which is exclusive and ground-breaking. It
is necessary to maintain bonding with co-workers.
Evaluation of the opportunity- Idea which is developed by the employee's great
benefits for the entity because it employee know the working criteria of the organization.
Special meeting and seminar are introduced by the mostly every organization nowadays
so that they can motivate the employees and the workers to share their ideas which can
help in enhancing the work and grabbing the new opportunities present in the competitive
environment.
Administration of time- Completion of work is not only important but completed in the
specified time frame is also important to run the project in an economical way.
Adaption- It is not necessary that every employee in the entity is experienced, it is very
important that new learners adapt to the new place of work in a valuable manner.
Feedbacks- By evaluating the performance of the employee of a travel lodge help in
given the feedback on that aspect in the organization which need to be changed to
advance their presentation.
This is the recommendation which can be given as manager to improve the performance as well
as help in reducing the weakness in the competitive environment.

1.4Review how motivational techniques can be used to improve the quality of performance
To increase the performance of the employee in every way, there is some motivational
techniques and approaches which can be followed by the business. These motivational theories
explain the need of the patron is never get satisfied it a long going process which can be always
going continue. The Maslow theory is a motivational theory in which it explains human needs in
five tiers. This theory is to motivate the employee to perform well by fulfilling the basic needs of
the employee. The Herzberg theory of motivation is concentrated on motivation through the core
practice of management. This theory is also considered as the two factor theory, This theory
identifies some context which can be connected with satisfaction in the job and also some which
is not satisfied with the job. The factor, in theory, is the Hygiene factor and second is the
motivational theory. The techniques of motivation are used by the Travelodge for motivating the
employee (Makki, et. al., 2015). There are some monetary benefit and some non-monetary
benefit which can help in fulfilling the financial need of the workers and also the satisfaction of
the worker too. There are some different techniques which can be used by the organization to
improve the quality are-
1. Goal setting which is easily achievable
2. The positive environment of work
3. Motivation by incentive
4. Improve performance by share profit
5. Enrichment professionally

own. It is necessary for the organization to analyse the various stages so that problem and issues
which are faced by the employee during the execution of the work should be reduced. As a
manager of Travelodge hotel is the responsibility to identify the quality assurance and
management risk to taking initiative to solve the problem. Following problem which is faced
Lack of awareness- In the hospitality industry, if any new person enters, it is necessary that it
have a piece of knowledge and awareness regarding this industry. it is very important for the
individual to connect with the industry demand. This industry is suffering because of their lack
of skilled labour available. In the Travelodge, the process of hiring a new person is very bad.
Due to this reason, Human resource manager faced the trouble of hiring an appropriate aspirant
due to which the quality of service dismisses. For solving the problem proper analysis has been
done to identify the need of the industry and also the candidate selection can be done according
to the requirement of the industry only. some test can also be imposed on the aspirant to evaluate
their capability for the job (Chen, et. al., 2018).
The barrier in the communication- Communication is the key factor of any organization to
achieve the success but there is some barrier which can be made difficult in the organization to
communicate with each other. To solve that problem it is necessary that both employee and
manager are taking training to communicate with each other effectively. For reducing the barrier
it I important that entity should plan the group decision and also given the freedom to the
employee to communicate freely without any fear.

It needs to utilized technology and human assistance such as digital promotion/marketing, media
forecasting, advertisements, etc. The problem which is faced by the organization is that they have
laked of skill chefs, Lacking in maintaining the hygiene, Charges is higher than the expectation,
