The employability skills refer to skills that are transferable by making an individual employed.
The employee outlines the skills set that include subject knowledge and technical understanding
that is employer requirements. The report will aim at developing performance and objectives by
creating necessary recommendations in reference to Travelodge that is determined as the
provider of accommodation services in the UK. The quality of services will be achieved through
motivational techniques for Travelodge customers. Further, the report will explain work-based
problems with their services by explaining the importance of communication in Travelodge by
further explaining time management strategies. Moreover, the study will determine the
significance of team for fulfilling shared goals by analyzing team dynamics and through
suggestions for completing tasks. At last, the report will identify different problems in
Travelodge for solving by tools and appropriate strategies that will evaluate the potential

The employers in organisation display or advertise job vacancies through job specifications that
are essential for employees for identifying skills and abilities according to job requirements by
higher learning level. Focus on abilities aids in developing employee's morale for accepting the
challenges. As an HR manager at Travelodge I have been allotted various duties such as
recruiting, planning, coordinating, interviewing etc (Hampf, et. al., 2018). According to the job
role of HR, I have developed my own responsibilities that consist of:
The job of HR manager requires developing my personal responsibility that needs
investigating my own selection techniques regarding organisational decisions that will
enhance my career chances in Travelodge.
Focusing on strengthening employee relations that aids in extracting quality results from
team members through regular motivation and encouragement from the HR manager.
Adaptable nature is necessary for HR manager that identifies business threats and
weakness by dispensing solutions to deal with hard conditions by setting employees for
adjusting the change and techniques.
The objective of Own Performance
The Travelodge hotel has an HR manager that contains different performance objectives that are
essential for identifying my calibre. My basic objective is to monitoring and setting objectives
of performance from employees that will determine the employee's performance graph based on
selected targets. I must learn different methods of analyzing the work of employees that include
appraisal systems that bring better results through bonuses and promotions (Collet, et.al, 2015).
The quality and performance can also be judged through paired comparison, rankings etc that
help HR to boost their own performance results.

1.2 Evaluate own effectiveness against defined objectives
As Travelodge HR manager, I established objectives of my responsibilities and performance by
preparing according to Travelodge requirements that consist of satisfying employees through
services of speedy Wi-Fi, signature king size bed, free stays of 16-year kids, bumper breakfast
etc that needs the best management between employees and higher authorities. As Travelodge
has variety objectives that are essential to pertain but I must focus on my effectiveness by
minimizing the required objectives for getting higher benefits in the organisation as HR manager
that are discussed below;
Hotel Rules and Regulations – It is important to convey hotel culture and rules to employees
from which they will complete their task (Scott, 2016). As an HR manager, I should explain
working styles and process to employees for providing job satisfaction through their legal laws
and rights against the organisation.
Retaining Employees – I must learn and understand the importance of retaining employees by
using different techniques such as appraisals and promotions that will eliminate high employee
turnover circumstances by constantly increasing service quality and production in Travelodge.
Complying with HR Policies – In Travelodge, the manager runs hotel by inspiring and
motivating a team that maximizes profits and sales by conducting brilliant channels of
communication. Hence, I must focus on understanding HR policies of the organisation that will
make easier for enhancing my job duties by making employees understand the goals and
achieving importance.
Employee Selection – HR manager reassigned to heir suitable candidate for job vacancy by
conducting interviews and professional proceedings that are essential for me to practice by
explaining selection methods to candidates (George, 2015).

1.3 Make recommendations for improvements
Hotel industry requires maintaining attracting plans and strategies for increasing their sales and
customers. In Travelodge, rates strategies have planned accordingly that aids in saving consumer
money by dispensing flexibility in orders through negotiation. The interiors and hotel campus
has been developed for giving priority to business class people under which they have strategies
to provide free breakfast and free stays for 16-year children for attracting numerous customers. It
is essential for understanding a business practice that provides experience and knowledge of the
hotel industry (Cottrell, 2015). While dealing in corporate sector I found my communication
skills weaker through low confidence that hesitates me when the customer arrives. Improvement
of skills is important in my personality for polishing my performance according to job
responsibility by clarifying my thoughts with Travelodge people which are elaborated below.
As a manager, I must prepare myself to improve performances of employees by setting back up a
plan that consists of replacements for unrated employees for getting better market positioning. It
is also necessary for employees that they should be removed from their comfort zones through
motivation and encouragement that will provide chances of achieving higher quality services to
customers by satisfying the best accommodation services. My job role is tough but I must focus
on providing training and development programs to employees according to their skills and
abilities development by guiding through advanced technologies and changing market trends.
The above recommendations must be enhanced by me for developing employee’s contribution in
quality services that will improve my performance too (Taylor, 2016).

Motivational Techniques
The moral of employees can be increased for completing their tasks by initiating techniques that
are essential for motivation which is discussed below:
Financial Motivator – The work is accomplished by money for engaging and encouraging an
individual. It is dispensed to employees in form of salaries, bonuses, wages, profit sharing,
medical reimbursements etc. They are terms that motivate employees in Travelodge for giving
quality services.
Employee Participation – The subordinates in the organisation gets accomplishment and
affiliation feeling from the motivational tool. The process of decision making in business
promotes mental and physical involvement of employees (Vlacsekova and Mura, 2017). It aids
in strengthening employee and organisational relation through faith and trust in dispensing
quality services to global customers reaching Travelodge.

low efficiency and coordination that is required among the employees and management. The
working structure and culture in an organisation are impacted by low employee satisfaction that
minimizes the quality of the product. As HR manager different problems have been rectified in
Travelodge that includes interruptions in online booking, online payment, excess workloads,
unable to reach by calls that disturb the overall functioning of hotel industry (Schein, 2017). The
decision-making process in a firm is affected by the following reasons that are as follows:
Communication barrier is a problem in work-based areas that brings problems in the
results of the organisation. It is essential for the hotel industry for strengthening
interaction channels in firm regarding task explanation and understanding to employees.
Customers are highly irritated in case they are not able to contact or communicate with
hotel receptionists. It is due to an interaction barrier that is essential for a manager to
remove. For example – the hotel Travelodge customers are constantly facing barriers to
booking online hotels that require special assistance for solving the problem by
communicating.
Retention plans for employees in an organisation requires getting strong. It occurs when
the culture of an organisation is highly strict and pressurizes employees to work under
burden and loads that decrease their working interest (Aguenza and Som, 2016). The

The employees in Travelodge are aimed at achieving personal goals that are directly impacting
the low results in achieving organisational goals. Recently the employee turnover is regularly
increasing due to which three employees are given vacancies. For new employees, the manager
has planned to develop employee induction pack for assigning duties and training employees
according to the task that will create deep understanding to employees about working in a team
