INTRODUCTION
Induction and onboarding process help a company to let other know about the company’s
working and their job profile. This assist employees to know about company’s culture and
policies. Thus, the study will shed a light upon different induction system and process that help
to know about company’s working style. For that, the report will describe the meaning of
induction and onboarding process and different system of induction that is mostly used by the
company. Further, it describe the value and importance for new employees and organization so
that employee will be known about their culture.
INDUCTION
Induction is the process through which company welcome new recruited employees and
supporting them so that they can easily adjust their roles in new work profile. However, starting
new job can be a stressful experience for an employee but induction assist them to settle in the
workplace (Friedrich, 2019). Whereas, onboarding is all about those process in which new
joiners can integrated into an organization, so that they can learn about company’s culture, vision
and mission.
Induction systems
There are different induction systems used by the company which are as mentioned
below:
Induction pack: It is the first thing which is to be provided to new employee after an interview
in which HR provide an introduction to an employee regarding the workplace, their job roles etc.
Induction tour: There are different tours provided by the company in order to improve the
learning of individual in which general induction programme, specific orientation program is
used.
Induction training events: It is also included in the induction where company provide an
information pertaining to system and procedure, company strategy and service so that individual
come to know about company (Alexander, 2021).
Coaching: It is also a system of induction where coach remove the fear of an individual so that
they can focus upon their performance and improve the system accordingly.

Mentoring: With the help of mentoring, individual groom up and improve their pedagogical
skills that helps to provide quality products to the customers. With the help of mentoring,
individual can communicate best way to their individual so that performance can be improving.
Buddying: With the help of buddying a new member can act as a first point of contact for a new
starter in order to settle into their role (Ivana, 2020). This makes individual comfortable within a
new workplace so that they can adjust within a workplace.
Induction process
There are some elements which need to be included in the induction process which are as
mentioned below:
Physical orientation: In this, employee come to familiar with the place of work so that
they will feel comfortable within a workplace.
Health and safety: In this, HR provide information pertaining to health and safety
procedure so that they confirm the organization is safe to work.
Company’s history: In this, employee come to know about the company’s background
and its history which include vision, mission, objectives (Bharth Vajan, Rajeshkumar and
Kavitha, 2021).
Job requirement: In this, HR mainly tell about the roles and responsibilities that provide
information regarding the job profile. In this, term and condition is also included if any.
Training and development: Company also provide training session to the employees that
helps to improve employee’s performance and assist them to use in their near future.
Company benefits: During induction, it is essential to let people know about the benefits
offered by the company to employees so that employees work longer and manage the
work accordingly.
The role of line manager during an onboarding process is leader because they are middle
managerial role and also connect directly with the employees in order to make them
understand about the company’s need. In the onboarding journey, company’s line manager
actually make individual aware about the process of a company so that they can work
accordingly (Papen and et.al., 2019). Also, line manager boost their morale and get them
familiar with the new company’s rule that assist them to make comfortable. That is why,

Value and importance for new employee
The induction program mainly helps employees to understand about their own job role
and this in turn assist to make them fit for the organization. New employees also better
understand about the company’s process and policies so that they are work accordingly. Further,
the value of induction program for new employee is such that they receive necessary information
regarding the organizational structure, culture and standard of behavior that help to make
comfortable within a business (Importance of induction, 2020). This in turn assist the employee
to establish a good communication with manager and new staff that create a better outcome and
make efforts to meet the company’s goals.
Further, a good induction program is important for a new staff member because he/she is
completely unaware with the policies of the company and that is why, to get them familiar with
the company is essential so that they can enjoy the working. Also, it can be stated that through an
effective induction program, employees will come to know about company’s performance and
then determine whether working in this firm will be beneficial for their near future or not.
Value and importance for organization
Through an induction program, not only new employee will be benefitted but an
organization also befitted. Such that when employee will put their extra efforts into the company
working culture, then it assists them to complete the defined work in the workplace. Also, it help
to save the employer time and money so that they can improve the online learning modules
(OPARINDE and BAMIRE, 2021). Apart from this, through induction, the employees can
compliance with company policies and procedure so that they can perform their best in order to
meet the defined aim. This in turn enhance the company reputation by creating the professional
impression and generate a better outcome.
Apart from this, with the help of induction program, company also get benefitted by
increasing the productivity because employees have a full understanding pertaining to company
and their role so that business operations can be run in effectual manner. Therefore, it can be

retain them that assist to reduce the employee turnover and also save the recruitment so that
employees feel welcome and valued within a business. That is why, there is a need to provide
induction program so that they can perform the best outcome and increase the goals.
Consequences of lack of induction in workplace
There are different consequences faced by the company when there is a lack of induction
process within a workplace such that employee will not understand about the company’s culture
and this in turn lead t unhappy the employees and raise high employee turnover. Apart from this,
if the employee is not understand about the actual culture then it will be not easy to put extra
efforts into the business (Masoud and Tariq, 2020). Therefore, the production rate of the
company will be decreases and this in turn shows that the company’s performance will be
affected negatively. In addition to this, it can be stated that without an induction, employee do
not know about the actual condition of a company and do not know what are their roles and
responsibilities towards a firm. Hence, it can be stated that without induction, company is not
able to improve the generate a better outcome and will be lack behind in the competition.

Summary
From the above report it has been concluded that induction and onboarding process are
considered some of the main key aspect for the company to meet the success criteria. That is
why, there are different companies who uses range of new induction systems that helps to
improve the overall performance and create a better outcome. From the above report, it has been
concluded that induction process value for an employees as well as employers that assist firm to
create a strong performance and derive better outcome for the company. However, without
effective induction systems, company is not able to increase productivity and raise the brand
image as well.
Recommendations
It is to be suggested to the company that business need to introduce different training
system to their workplace that helps to improve the business performance and raise the
productivity of the employees. In this, both online and offline training session can be

session so that employee will be aware of the same.
It is also recommended that due to lack of time and resources the study do not provide in-
depth findings and this affect the results in negative manner. That is why, key words need
to be included that help to create a better outcome and meet the defined aim.
