INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is documenting a procedure of self-analysis, personal
reflection as well as honest appraisal of strength and weakness of individual. In addition to
this, before designing personal development plan individual have to conduct skill audit
because this will assist them in analysing strength and weakness. After analysing weakness
individual design personal development plan which help in overcoming with weakness in
effective manner. This report is divided in 4 tasks i.e., Skills audit analysis, Personal
development plan, Work based project (short, medium- and long-term goals) as well as
reflection. All these will assist in better development of individual as well as also help in
conducting activities related to better future in effective manner.
TASK 1 Skills audit analysis
Skills audit is systematic assessment related to research skills as well as knowledge.
In addition to this, audit must have to provide evidence related to existing or developing
competence. Moreover, skill audit is related with need analysis which simply means
identifying any requirement for training or personal development. In simple term it can be
said that, skill audit as well as need analysis have two sides i.e., what individual has as well
as what they need. Furthermore, initial skill audit and needs analysis is reflective procedure
as well as it should be update on regular basis.
I am working at a well know boys boarding school Harrow School for the past couple
of years as a Housekeeping Supervisor as well as I am currently enrolled in my second year
at the Metropolitan London School of Science & Technology.
I have joined Harrow school in August 2015 and shortly after I have been encourage to enter
a managerial leadership and management development programme which allowed me to
develop my personal and professional skills. In my role I have encountered different
situations where I needed to develop myself, and where I was able to asses my strengths and
weaknesses.
For doing skill audit there is requirement of conducting SWOT analysis because this

asset for success of firm. it is the responsibility of organisation to understand the need of
motivation and increase the level of employee engagement.

possible to attain organisational targets in specified time. Motivated employees within a
company don’t need to be told about how to get their work done properly. They take

asset for success of firm. it is the responsibility of organisation to understand the need of
motivation and increase the level of employee engagement.

put efforts for attaining goals. Another motivational theory given by Hertzberg states that
there are hygiene factors which are needed in order to ensure that employee is not dissatisfied
(Thokozani, 2017). On the other hand, motivation factors are required for ensuring
employee’s satisfaction and motivation for high performance. Motivation is not guaranteed
for just mere presence of hygiene factors.

that they can improve and enhance their skills and abilities.
By implementing effective monitoring and controlling activities the management
would able to identify the week performing employees and take corrective actions to
improve their performance.
By establishing healthy and friendly relation with the employees the company would
able to improve the poor communication adn should focus on making employees
comfortable in the work place.
Management should start valuing the opinions of the workforce and should involve
them in the decisions making process of company as they are the most important part
of the organisation.

leading through six stages which are description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion as
well as action plan. It was developed by Graham Gibbs in 1988 for giving structure to

examining experience as well as given its cyclic nature lends itself particularly well for
repeating experience and allowing to learn as well as plan things that either went well or
employee's morale as this will ensure that their opinions and inputs are valued by the
organization.
