The answer to the question- "What factors influence whether or not a leader is viewed as
ethical?"
A number of factors influence the perspective towards the leaders of the organization.
These factors regard the leaders to be as ethical or unethical and thus are critical to building
the trust and transparency in the overall business practices. The work explores various such
factors; and how they influence the outlook towards the leaders, especially in the event of the
changes in the organization.
The first and foremost factor is the consideration of the interests of every stakeholder.
This is critical especially when the stakeholders are employees. This is because of the fact
that employees are more or less affected, be any kind of organizational change. Thus, the
involvement of the employees is essential to building the trust and the successful
implementation of the change (Sharif & Scandura, 2014).
The second major factor that influences the outlook towards a leader is
communication. It is necessary that the leaders communicate the change in an efficient and
timely manner (Neubert, Wu & Roberts, 2013). The communication is necessary at every
step, i.e. the planning, implementation, follow up and more.
Some other factors that ethical leaders consider during the organizational change are
the adoption of transparent change practices, continuous review of the change plan and
avoiding the conflict of the interests.
Thus, as per the discussions conducted in the previous parts, it can be concluded that
when the leaders are ethical, it is much easier to involve the stakeholders including the
employees in the change. In addition, efficient leadership forms the base for the successful
implementation of changes.
