INTRODUCTION
Evidence based practice is the analysis of the person which is gained by the
experimenting various methods on the patients and health care units. This will help to increase
the overall result of the services given to the patients. This practice also help to improve the
patient's behaviour and help the health care units to make effective decisions In five steps. This
research help in improving the lifestyle of the patients and produce the better results in treatment
of the patients. In this report there is a detailed analysis of the importance of evidence based
practice and what problems do the health care units face in doing their activities. This will also
analyze the various skills and traits which is required to enhance the research of the patient
treatment which will also provide them with better outcomes.
P 1 Purpose and Process of Evidence Based Practices
Evidence based practices is comprising three main components and which help the
researcher to analyze all the aspects of it. The three components are Individual clinical expertise,
the best external evidence and patients values and experiences. As evidence based practice help
the researcher to analyze these components with the help of some methods and techniques.
Purpose
 EBP is very essential as it helps in giving a productive care of health to their patients with
maximum satisfaction to them.
 It increases the decision-making of the healthcare units in providing the best services to
their patients.(Berman, Snyder and Frandsen, 2016)
 EBP is also provides the self challenges which help the researcher to understand the
causes of low effectiveness in the health care units.

 It also refers to the experiences from other in making any investments.
Process
This process of analysing the importance o evidence based practices are given below.
 First step is the researcher will create a question which is very common in nature and
everyone can answer that easily. The more question the health care practitioner will ask
their patients the more the information they will gain and that will help them to
understand the problems.
 The second step includes finding the best possible evidence around to concrete the first
step and also help them to understand the detail why the answers of fist step will affect
the health care unit. The researcher have to analyse the sources to evaluate the questions.
 In this step the researcher have to analyse the feasibility and correctness of the question
of which is asked the patient, and they are also responsible to analyse the strengths and
weaknesses of the question.
 The researcher also have to accumulate the patient's experiences and thought process
which will help the health care unit to improve in providing the better services for the
patients.(Derwing and Munro, 2015)
 This is the last step of the process in this the researcher have to determine the impact of
the improvement in the health care unit and also have to analyse the behaviour of the
patient to be certain about their satisfaction levels.

Analytical mind
A good researcher should know all the factors which are preset in the environment and
should also understand the importance to analyze those factors effectively to determine the
causes and effects occurring in the health care units. The researcher should have the skill to
understand causes and draft a better plan with in depth analyzing of the factors. The researcher
creates a freamework to find all the problems in the health and social care units.
Good Nature
A good researcher despite his good analytical skills will not be able to perform well if he
does not have good communication skills with their patient and do not know how to handle and

please their patient in order to create a good image in their minds. These will help the health care
units to develop a better environment without any disputes.
Validity
This skill is very important in analyzing the problems which are faced by the health care
units, and they also have to analyze that the answers shared by the patients are even true and can
be trusted or not.
Impact
This skill will also help the researcher to analyze the importance of the question that is it
relevant to the health care unit or not.(Schmidt and Brown, 2017)
Applicability
The researcher have to analyze that if the question asked had a good impact on the health
care unit and is the solution can be applied to the patients or not so that they can experience the
maximum satisfaction level and increase the effectiveness of the unit.
Innovative
The researcher should also have the knowledge to innovate by finding new ideas which
can improve the satisfaction of the patients after analyzing the problems they face in the
treatment is done. The researcher are also very creative in finding the better possible ways to
handle with problems as they have proper knowledge and skills which will help them to achieve
the satisfaction.

P 3 Literature Review
As illustrated by(Kamper, 2019) there are many factors which discourage patients to go
to the healthcare units to be treated themselves. Abuse is one of the major reason the patients
avoid the health and social care units. As these abuse in health care is very big problem and this
has to be analyzed and what is the root of all the abuse in the Health care units. These abuses are
of different types. There are of different types which are affecting the patient very adversely and
these all types of abuses have to be analyzed by the researcher in order to ensure the safety and
protection of the patients by making an effective framework.
According to(Potter and et.al., 2016) Physical abuse is done by the health care use this
abuse to make the patients more obedient, and they abuse their patients in such form which
leaves bruises and scares on their body, and they use different objects to abuse their patients or
generally with hands. Health care takers do all this in order to punish their patients as they are
not behaving or listening to them. Many time the patients deny taking medicines or eat the food
the care takers beat them in order to complete their responsibility. The patients who are
physically abused can also have multiple fractures. Bruises, bleed from the cuts on the skins,
internal injuries, and torn clothes, and the care takers don't let them use the mobile phone to
reach out for help.
As per the view of (Hain, 2017) Sexual Abuse is done by the health care takers to the
patients in which they have sex with the patients without the consent or awareness of the
patients, and they are also forced to have sex with the health care takers. The patients which
suffer from this abuse can be diagnosed with some sexually transmitted diseases which have no
official source from where it came, many sexual organs diseases and infections, the
undergarments of the patients are in blood and also there can be some marks on their body. The
patients in this abuse are mainly not in mental condition to understand, or they are not strong
enough to stop the person from doing all that and the care takers mainly focus on small girls and
women who are aged and cannot stop them from doing the abuse. There are some cases where
the care takers have also drugged the patients to abuse them and the reports of those cases have
helped the healthcare units to understand to ways the protection of the patients.

In opinion of (Astroth and Chung, 2018) Emotional and psychological abuse is also the
type o abuse which the patients have faced in the health and social care units. This is the type of
mental disturbances the patients face due to the care takers. In type of abuse the care takers use
the bad language and use of bad phrases which impact the mental stability of the patients, is cans
also be done by verbal and nonverbal communication of the care takers. The patients who suffer
from this abuse can be diagnosed by the researcher with the help of some questions which can be
there will be depression in the patient, and they will not be able to express themselves, the
patients can also have the problems of dementia, and the researcher will also gain much
information that how too improve the satisfaction of the patients by providing them with better
care takers who are very supportive and also have ability to understand their patients.
In accordance with (Hirsch and et.al., 2015) Financial abuse is one of the common abuse
which a patient can inherit in the health and social care units where these units brainwash their
patients to give their assets to the health care units for their use and also use their identity to
access all their financial related assets without the consent of their patients. The units can also
force the patients to sign on the attorney forms to give all the financial belongings of the patients
to their care takers, and they can sue their bank accounts to use the money without the consent of
their patients. The health care unit can also demotivate the patient to use the lower services and
pay them more money to get better services.
As noted by (Puri and Treasaden, 2017) The patients also feel they are neglected and this
will also come under the abuse. The care takers usually do not look after those patients with
whom they have grudges and let them suffer on their own. The health care in this abuse is biased
in some case and do not provide proper care to some of their patients and let them live in
unhygienic condition, and not providing with proper food and nutrition and medicines which
they have opted for.
P 4 Summary of the literature review
In the above literature the patients are mistreated despite the proper payment to the health
care units. There is a need to hire the skilled and literate care takers who understand their patients
and work with ethics and rules. As in the literature review the patients were not treated well by
the care takers and were majorly abused physically, sexually, financially and mentally. The care
takers also have neglected their patients due to many personal problems with their patients. The

health and social care units need to analyze all the factors by appointing an effective research
team who can analyze all the reasons why the abuses are been done to their patients. And there
should also be a motivation activity for their care takers so that they feel satisfies in their
personal goals and do not attempt to commit such abuses.(Fazio and et.al., 2018)

The health care unit need to improve the quality of their services by changing the strategy and
policies of care taker and patient relationship and the care takers should also be trained and
analyzed before they are hired. The care takers should be balanced in all the characteristics
which are required to treat the patients.

Heath and social care units also have to adopt the technology by installing the CCTV camera to
keep a surveillance on the activities the care takers are doing which also help them be in control
and also follow the rules. There should also be a health care committee to check on the activities
which they are doing with a notice on their financial activities to ensure that they are not doing
any fraud with their patients.
P 5 Benefits of Evidence Based Practices
The evidence based practice is regarding the direct patient by the nurses is what it means
according to scientific researchers. This is required so that all the patiences are treated equally
and are getting the best of facilities from the hospital. The benefits from evidence based practice
are as follows-
 Stability in care- The care which is given by the hospitals or the nurses is no longer based
on traditions but now are given to everyone in the hospital. (Rousseau and Olivas‐Luján,
2015) There are a certain kinds of standards in the health care which have to be
maintained by the hospital staff. The benefits are shared by both staff and patients of the
hospital from this stable care and there is a type of interventions that the patients receive
in this process. The guide institutions and healthcare professionals are having the practice
guidelines and those help in creating the policies and individual's practices. Better ideas
of what has to be expected out of a nurse or the hospital is very clear by the patient and
the family of the patient.

 Outcomes of the patient is better- Due to evidence based care there are better and
improved outcomes of the patient. There are lesser rates of spreading the infection and
complications in the hospital and between the nurses. The cases which are preventable
which are pressure ulcers and falls occur if evidence based care is present in the health
care of the hospital. Thanks to the new evidences there are traditional practices of nursing
have been removed and new practices have come in. The new practices include no longer
applying the antacid power on the fresh wounds, the nurses are no longer allowed to
smoke in the nurse stations and the infants are not allowed to make them sleep on their
bellies because it is believed that making them sleep on the back will prevent the infants
from chocking.
 Has become an advance career field- Autonomy is being gained by the nursing field
which is making the evidence based healthcare gain another benefit. (Rutberg and
Bouikidis, 2018) The people who are nurses or nurse practitioners are being granted more
independence and are being allowed to use there education to the full extent by being
permitted to practice has been growing in the nursing department. These changes which
are taking place are making the patients and the people very satisfied with the nurses and
the nurses are becoming more professional with there work.
 There are a lot of countries which are investing in healthcare because it is evident that the
countries are not getting the care that they deserve. It is required because this is a basic
requirement of the people of the country to get the best healthcare from their own country
without travelling outside their own country. (Eller, Gerber and Robinson, 2018)The
outcomes of evidence based practice in healthcare is visible and is being appreciated by
the world. There are quicker recovery of patients if the nursing which is being given to
them is good. The nurses know the steps and protocols they are supposed to follow till a
doctor reaches the patient and that care if very important for the patient. The nurses are
taking care of the healthcare processes very carefully and are practising them well.

This is a brief study about the problems faced by the patients due to abuse and negligence v=by
the care givers. There is also a study about how to analyze the problems and resolve the
problems to provide maximum satisfaction and services to the patients. There is serious threat to
the health care sector as the care takers are not following the ethics and doing malpractices to
satisfy their desires.
Aim
To analyze how to tackle neglect and abuse of patients in the health and social care units. And to
provide safeguard and safety to patients from malpractices of healthcare units.
Objectives
1. To analyze the abuses in the health and social care centers
2. To identify the ways for tackling abuse and negligence.
3. To assess the challenges to minimize the negligence and abuse in Health and social care
settings.
Literature Review
In accordance with((Englert and McDermott, 2016)) the question in health and social
care units is that they are trying to improve their services by adopting the evidence based
practices so that they researcher can attain the knowledge about how the patients are having
problems in satisfying themselves and what problems they face during the services by the health
care centers. Many patients also suggest the researcher to improve some particular things from
their personal experiences , otherwise the researcher have to identify the problems in the form of
questions which is very easy to answer and do not hurt any feelings of the patients. The patients
also address their different types of abuse which they have no control and also feel uneasy while
the care takers do not stand to their expectations. The researcher also should have the proper
traits and skills so that they can accurately analyze the challenges faced by the patients, as many
patients because of abuse will not be able to express themselves or are threatened by someone
not to say anything, the researcher have to understand the symptoms of all the abuses in order to
help the patients and also improve the services for them.
Research Methodology
It is a process which help the researcher to analyze the problems and all the other factors
with the help of various tools and techniques. There are different types of research method used

by the researcher in order to get a in detail information about all the factors which is creating
hindrance in development of health and social care units.
1. Research Type- this research is done on Qualitative approach as the health care units
need to improve the quality of their services and also need to analyze the actors which
will increase the efficiency o the health units and also help the patients to provide the
maximum satisfaction to them.
2. Research philosophy- in this type of research the researcher have to use the interpretivism
philosophy as in this philosophy the research will be done in the present factors and it
has to be analyzed after the affected factors and resolve the problems.
3. Data Collection- the researcher will use the primary data for collecting the information
from the patients as every patient have different problems and the data should be of
current time and should be particular and the researcher will have the control over their
data collection and can modify the research according to their will.(Malone, Nicholl and
Coyne, 2016)

sampling, and they have to take the samples of the selective patients which are having many
problems in the heath care unit and are facing more health issues than before.

responsibilities about how they have to treat their patients Because of the researches many cases
came out which also helped the government to come up with new laws and policies to ensure the

safety and security of the patients and also standards which the health and social care units have
to follow in order to operate their activities lawfully.

CONCLUSION
In this report there was a study about the adverse effects which the patients faced in
health and social care units and centers. The care takers do not cared about their patients and also
abuse them physically, sexually, mentally, financially, and they even neglect their patients due to
many reasons which were not ethical in law. The need of evidence based practices was felt for
the improvement of the services and also to analyze the negative factors which are affecting the
growth of these units, researchers were appointed, and they had to analyze the patients on
various methods and process which will help them to improves the errors which the units had
and also increase the satisfaction of the patients and improve their services.
