INTRODUCTION
This assignment will cover the impacts of globalisation. Furthermore, it will
include corporate social responsibilities and its effectiveness (Alberts, Nakayama and Martin,
2015). The present report is helpful to develop understanding about high levels of immigration
and its negative effects as well as solutions.
The chapter also covers assisted dying and will focus if it become legal or remain illegal in UK
law system.
Advantages and disadvantages of globalisation
It means developing and expanding business across globe. In other words a procedure in
which various organisations invest to operate internationally for worldwide growth and success.
This happens with the help of information technology. This is responsible to give both benefits
and losses to entities. UK is also one of them who faces both of its pros and cons. The main
advantages and shortcomings are given below:
Advantages:- Because of trading globally, UK companies have seen huge improvement in
employment as well as economic growth. Due to it, the effective allocation of resources will take
place to different productive economic sectors. This results in great job opportunities in export
industries. The firms that arrange free trade have also seen high living standards because of huge
incomes in terms of financial growth. Other significant advantage of globalisation is
specialisation in trade Benería, Berik and Floro, 2015). It means if a company specialises to
produce special commodity, it gains benefits in terms of competition. Instead of putting no
efforts to produce good quality goods, countries enjoy economies of scale.
Disadvantages:- on having several benefits, there are few disadvantages that are associated with
globalisation. The main drawback of this is increased scale of poverty. Because of unequal
distribution of jobs, it promotes poverty among people. Many citizens of UK have lost their jobs
due to lower manufacturing cost. It can result in economic drive due to lacking occupational
mobility. This has generated payment imbalance in UK. Again, due to allowance of transferring
various activities and resources across worldwide there is an imbalance that is generated by
globalisation between UK and other countries.

Effectiveness and ineffectiveness of CSR to improve world
CSR or corporate social responsibility is a term that means the efforts of organisations to
make positive impact on society along with business. These efforts can include charity to non-
profit entities or implement environment friendly policies on its workplace.
Effectiveness:- It enables companies to do business ethically. By this, firms give benefits to
people with providing high quality products in nominal prices. It promotes to think in delivering
beneficiaries to society by spreading good messages to it and not doing business for just own
profits. Due to this, organisations get to change their services to maintain moral values in society
and various communities. By this, the enterprises make sure how they can make a positive
difference to society imroving their services and messages attached to products.
Ineffectiveness:- However, corporate social responsibility contributes to improve social values
still it sometimes becomes ineffective to project its benefits to communities. Organisations may
try to sell their products with some good message associated to products related to maintain
hygiene but many times these messages do not impact people positively. It is because lack of
awareness of people regarding usage of products that are environment friendly (Maria Kielmas,
2017). Therefore, it becomes ineffective to implement corporate social responsibilties in several
areas. Moreover, there are still many small entities that don’t focus much on CSR due to extra
investment and less outcomes in terms of profits. These enterprises only think to expand its
business regardless of knowing it would have negative impacts on customers to consume their
products.
Negative impacts of Immigration and its solutions
By immigration means moving to anther country permanently from native place. It is a
process through which people can shift from their native country to abroad for various reasons
like employment, further studies etc. There is a legal procedure to be an immigrant. If a person
migrates legally then it is less likely to be a problem for that nation. Issues occur when an
individual moves illegally. There are several negative impacts on nations that allow such people
and offer citizenship to them. These are as follows:
There is a only negative impact on countries that allow migration that is illegal
immigration. It comes under the breach of law of that nation’s government policies. It promotes
terrorism in countries. Due to which natives can be terrified and by this fear can be spread across
nation. The tourism can also be badly affected by illegal immigration as visitors may feel

restricted due to some unknown outsiders to demolish peace. It can make travellers fearful and
they will less likely to visit such nations. Therefore, the travel and tourism business affect to a
great extent.
Solution:- The problem of unlawful migration can be very impactful to countries in a negative
way. Nations that allow such movements of people should make strict laws for outsiders. For
instance, government need to implement strict visa and passport policies so that terrorists and
other outsiders cannot enter in the country easily.
Assisted dying
It is done by people who are dealing with some incurable diseases. If they find it difficult
to bear for long time and know that it will not be cured, they tend to attempt suicide in assistance
of doctor by taking some drugs. Although, this is not legal in UK. Still some people do this for
the sake of freedom from pain and unbearable problems generated by particular disease. Assisted
suicide is legal in Switzerland and patients move their to attempt it by consuming lethal drugs
prescribed by doctors of suicidal clinics. However, it become legal in some parts of UK. But it
should not be legalised anywhere (Dyer, White and Rada, 2015). People need to understand how
to live with terminal illness with taking medication on time. Doctors should advise such patients
to be patient and try things to minimise the effect of life threatening diseases. In fact, they should
suggest them to indulge activities like yoga and meditation through which pain or stress can be
reduced to a great extent. Hence, people need to die by their natural death and not try to attempt
suicide. Government of UK is also required to spread awareness among its citizens to avoid such
deeds and not legalise assisted dying (chuklenk and van de Vathorst, 2015).
CONCLUSION
In the above report, four topics have been discussed. It can be concluded that
globalisation is needed in current world which tend to change every time. Moreover, it has also
been discussed how CSR can affect world positively or negatively (Iwabuchi and et. al. 2016).
Also, it is concluded the legal and illegal immigration effects in UK and lastly this assignment
has provided view of assisted dying in UK legal system.
