profitability in the Hilton Hotel which is a hospitality industry providing effective services and
facilities to their customers. It is essential for the firm to maintain good employee relations at the
workplace to increase their motivation and commitment towards business goals. The report will
also discuss various employment legislations required to be implemented in the firm to protect
the rights and interest of their customers so that they can feel safe and secure.

1. An explanation of the purpose of the HR function and the key roles and responsibilities
of the HR function, highlighting the significance that HR plays in acquiring talent to meet
business objectives.
Meaning of HRM: Human resource management is an important function in Hilton hotel UK as
it helps in recruiting and selecting the best-suited candidate in the firm for the vacant position
available. HR function conducts appropriate training sessions, orientation and performance
management of the employees so that the goals of the firm can be achieved more efficiently and
employee relations can be maintained (Quinlan, et. al., 2019).
Roles and purpose of HRM function:
Recruiting and selecting: HR manager of Hilton implement various recruitment and selection
methods in their firm so that they can choose the right candidate for the right job and at the right
time for the accomplishment of business goals and achieving success.
Induction and orientation: After selecting the suitable employees as per their skills and abilities,
the HR function conducts the orientation process in which the selected candidate is made
familiar with the working environment and its conditions. This process will also provide the
necessary information to employees about their roles and job duties (Sutiksno, et. al., 2019).
Train and develop staff: To increase the skills, knowledge and abilities of the selected
candidates in Hilton, the manager implement various programs for training and development like
group discussions, practical training, conferences etc, for their employees so that they can
contribute in fulfilment of business goals.
Managing employee relationship: The HR manager of Hilton aims at providing appropriate
rewards and benefits to their employees for motivating them towards attaining the business
efficiency and productivity and also to maintain good employment relations.

Recruitment and selection approach: Suitable candidates are selected in Hilton through internal
