The purpose is to review the significant impact of the leadership on motivation of the employees
in the UK retail sector. The report will have discussion of the interrelationship of different
leadership on motivation of employee in different business situation. Hence, to improve the
motivation of the employees is very important both for competing and boosting up the
organization’s performance
Attracting and retaining employees in the age of globalization have turn out to be very
challenging in all aspects (Gattorna, 2016). The company are contributing major level of
investment in human resources to motivate the employees as the catalyst for increasing the
performance of company. there is importance of leader in retail sector as trust in the leader
correlates positively with various outcomes such as organizational citizenship behaviours,
performance, and satisfaction
Retailing is a dynamic industry, consisting of activities such as food, fashion, consumer goods,
financial services and leisure, which is growing at an exponential rate. In order to stay operative,
it is important for company in globalize world able in launching product in quick manner along
with providing enchanted customer service (Hanaysha. and Hussain, 2018). In addition to
provide the enhanced customer service, there is need to prove who are motivate and excellent in
performing the work. Sainsbury is facing high turnover along with facing challenge of hiring and
retaining an effective workforce which performs efficiently and effectively towards their
predetermined goals.
the study in to develop the clear level of relationship between the leadership styles and enforce of
retail sector via motivating the employee at extreme level. The research will also pay focus
concept of leadership styles used to motivate employees.

To investigate the impact of leadership on employee motivation and performance within UK
retail sector; A study on Sainsbury.
Objective
To evaluate the employee, perceive relationship between motivation and leaderships in
Sainsbury.
To determine employee motivation in intrinsically or extrinsically aspect.
To identify the factor which motive employee in retail sector.

as per the Jaiswal. and Dhar, (2017), the organizational success has the depends upon quality
and performance of manager. the business without the leadership the company is not able to
have imputation of resources in own completive advantage. hence their perceived level of
impact of leadership on employee motivations along with constructing the injury with increase
coopetition. On the other hand, Naidoo. and Gasparatos, (2018) have contradicted the statements
as employee commitment is a multidimensional structure and it is the relative strength of an
employee ‘s identification and participation in a particular organization.
This is about the guideline for the research to have the further accomplishment. As in this
research the have been use of the qualitative methods using both primary and secondary methods
of the data collection. The primary research will be done with the help of structured
questionnaire and secondary research will be done with help of literature review.

order to increase the motivation among the employee. The firm have need to establish proper
understanding regarding monetary and non-monetary motivation. From the above file it can be
concluded as Sainsbury need to have implication the various leadership style to motivate the
employee in the company. Human resource is one of the prime capitals in any organization,
which is not only to improve the outcome but also to compete with others.
It is recommended that manager of the Firm needs to assures that there must be regular
communication with the staff members and also analysis their performance time to time. They
also solve the problems of the workers immediately and avoid the unnecessary complexities. It is
indicated that the workers who are more satisfied with their job will also have better performance
in their work (Sanda. and Kuada, 2016). A tool through which employees can be motivated is to
use the bonus, promotion, reward both monetary and non-monetary such as discounted health
check-up, free gym membership and vocational holidays with their friends and family

members .Employers need to listen the problem of the workers sometimes one of the best way is
to listening them as without giving them any solution. It is also recommended that employers
provide the flexibility to some of the workers regarding work from home if some of them are
facing problem while coming to office (Smith. and England, 2019). If something urgent can be
there and presence of employees is mandatory such as meetings and all then employers provides
the video conferencing to the employees who are working from their home.
