Leadership is basically a quality of the individual to guide and motivate the group of people so
that their goals can be achieved successfully. Leaders are known as the backbone of the business because
they helps in improving the performance of the business by enhancing the performance of the employees.
Management skills helps in maintaining a proper working environment in the business by managing the
resources of the business. It involves teamwork, leadership, strategic thinking, decision making ,time
management etc. in the organization individual should have these skills so that growth of the business can
take place. Leader of the business should have these skills so that so that proper guidance can be provided
to the team members in the business. Leaders should involve their team members in the decision making
so that skills and confidence of the team members can be developed easily which will helps in providing
best quality of services to the customers in the organization. leaders helps in accomplishing the strategies
of the business by training the employees so that positive outcome can take place in the organization.
Tesco is an top supermarket company in UK . it was in 1919 by jack Cohen its headquarters in Welwyn
garden city UK. Its demand is more in the market as compared to other organization in the market
because of the quality of goods it provides to the customers in the markets. Tesco apply proper
management in the organization so that demand of the customers can be fulfilled properly in the market.
Tesco provide the services as per the demand of the customers due it total revenue and demand is more as
compared to other organization in the marketplace. Tesco guides its employees as per the need and
requirement of the customers so that better services can be provided to them. In this report it will
analyzed that how leadership and different skills of management helps in the growth of the business in the
marketplace (Zaar, 2020).

In the organization leaders helps in motivating the employees towards the achievement of the
goals by enhancing their performance in the organization whereas management helps in ensuring the day

employees in the organization democratic leadership is basically known as participative leadership. In this
leadership style opportunities is given to the employees to participate in the decision making process of

involving the employees in the decision making process helps in motivating the employees in the business
which further reflect in their performance. Leaders in Tesco guides their employees as per the need and
requirement of the customers so that best quality of services can be provided to the customers.

also has to analyze the strategies of the business so that better functioning can take place in the
organization the main role of leader is to implement the strategies given by the management by guiding
and training the employees of the organization. transformational leadership is also used by the leaders of
tesco it helps the leaders in achieving the goals by providing vision and mission to the leaders so that their
growth chances can also take place in the market. terry leah is considered as the visionary leader of tesco
because he has changed the entire structure of the company. By providing the best quality of goods and
services to the customers he trained its employees in a way so that they don’t have to depend on other for
resolving their queries in the business. The main motive of the organization is to increase it market across
the geographical boundaries. As demand of the business is high so it is easy for the organization to
increase it market share by gaining the trust of the customers. Management guides there leaders so that
they can create healthy working environment in the organization because growth of the business is

should maintain a proper working environment foe the employees so that chances of conflicts can be
resolved in the business and growth of the business can increased in the market. leaders should
development various skills in the employees so that career development of the employees can also takes
place in the business. leaders and management of the tesco appraise their employees for the hard work
which they do for the growth of the business which helps in motivating the employees towards the
assigned task it also encourages the other employees towards the work which is provided to them. Tesco
has also launched an academy for grooming its employees so that they can treat the customers effectively
in the business by satisfying the needs and requirement. Tesco always tries to resolve the queries of the
employees by taking feedback from so that employees cannot face any issue in the organization which
will further help in retaining the employees in the organization. as tesco follows democratic style of
leadership in the organization they take suggestion from lower to top level of the management so that
better decision can take place after getting the opinion of members of the organization because different
members provide different ideas due to which effective decision making takes place in the business which
helps in achieving the goals of the business effectively and also helps in providing competitive advantage
to the business in the market so that demand of the business can be increased and more profit can be
earned in the organization (Turner, 2019).

perspective, operation perspective, people perspective on the basis of which performance of the business
can evaluated as per the research it has been analyzed that profit of the tesco was more as compared to
other organization in the market because it provides the best services to the customers as per their need
and requirement due to which demand of the business also increased tesco involves the advanace
technologies in the business to innovate its services so that more people can attracted towards the
organization. tesco makes changes in the business as per the taste of the customers due to which
customers doesn’t get bored with the services of the business. tesco has earned a profit of £2bn in the
history of four years which is a huge achievement for the business. this achievement is basically due to
the hard work of the employees and managers who are working in the organization to achieve the goals of
the business. tesco is continuously in progress from the past years. Leaders and managers of the business
plan the day to day activities of the business so that best outcome can take place proper training program
is provided to the employees so that efficiency of employees can be increased and better services can be
provided to that so that demand and profit of the business can be increased. Without the help of managers
and leaders company cannot achieve its growth because performance of the business is dependent on the
guidance which is given to the employees which further reflect in their performance (Leitch, 2017).

of which leaders has to perform their functions. Managers of the business keep an eye on the activities
which are taking placing the business whether leaders are providing better training to the employees
and where the performance of the business is as per the set standard or not. If the performance of the
business is not as per the set standard then effective decision has to be taken by the management so
that performance of the business can be improved and productivity can be increased because tesco is
one of the best supermarket company of UK which provides the product as per the requirement of the
customers. If the organization will not provide healthy working environment to the employees then it
can affect the overall functioning of the business in the marketplace.
