AI Summary
This report presents a reflective analysis of team building skills, employing the Gibbs reflection model to evaluate experiences and inform future practice. The introduction establishes the importance of reflection in professional development, emphasizing its role in continuous learning and the integration of theory with practical application. The main body of the report applies the six stages of the Gibbs model – Description, Feelings, Evaluation, Analysis, Conclusion, and Action Plan – to a specific team-based scenario. The Description phase outlines the context of the team, the challenges faced, and the strategies employed to foster collaboration. The Feelings stage explores the emotional responses of team members and the author’s leadership impact. The Evaluation stage assesses the positive and negative aspects of the experience, while the Analysis stage delves into the underlying causes of the outcomes. The Conclusion summarizes the key learnings and identifies areas for improvement. Finally, the Action Plan proposes specific steps to enhance leadership skills, particularly in conflict management. The report concludes by reiterating the value of reflective practice and its contribution to effective team management and leadership.

INTRODUCTION
Reflection refers to an approach which is useful in evaluating the past experiences and
the actions to involve them in continuous learning. It is a practice which is important in
practising the professional learning by which individuals gain their own professional experiences
instead of formal learning (Graham and Walton, 2018). For this, it is also important to bring
things together in theoretical and practical manner as for this, a person is able to see its forms of
theory and context of work. The below reflection is based on the team building skills and
evaluation of essential skills. In this context Gibbs model is used in order to know the further
processing and carry forward the reflection.
MAIN BODY
Gibbs reflection model
This reflective cycle is most famous for the reflection as it include 6 major stages of
reflection that are being discussed as under:
Description: This stage carries the background information regarding the reflection and
here, it is important to keep the information offered at appropriate time (Anantasari, 2017). For
this, I am currently working in a team to achieve the goals and objectives of company. For this, I
need to determine the team building skills that exist to form and develop a team. As currently,
when I joined the team, the team associates does not know each other and because of this it
create conflicts and confusion regarding the specification of goals and objectives. In relation with
this, development and analysis of appropriate skills is important to know manage team in an
effective manner and for effective management, motivation is important that leads to develop
urge of employees to work in an appropriate manner. Moreover, at this step, description is given
regarding the problems that arises while developing a team and after development requirement of
suitable skills to form a team without any kind of barrier and confusion. As to develop an
effective team, I decided to divide work among many individuals as also specify each others
roles and duties which is useful in clarifying things for them to perform their job role and it
becomes possible because of research.
Feelings: This stage describe that how other associates feel under my leadership or in
that particular situation. For this step, employees must have effective coordination and
cooperation that is useful in enhancing the effectiveness of work of employees (Edwards, 2017).

In regard of this, I analysed that there is lot of work for us that should be achieved to achieve
success and growth. Moreover, while carrying work in an effective manner, I need to determine
the emotions and feelings of employees as how they feel about the management and other
relevant skills. In relation with this, it is determined that my team associates are quite happy and
satisfied with my skills and also given them proper opportunity regarding the development of
their skills and knowledge.
Evaluation: At this stage, it is determined that what is good and bad in the experience
while working in an organisation. It is also analysed that what goes well and did not go well and
appropriate contribution taken in particular situation (Gibbs and et. al., 2017). By considering my
team building skills, it is determined that it put both good and bad impact on the mind of
employees and those things that go well, each group member need to produce good quality work
on the specified time period. But despite of this, cancelled plans and task can demotivate
employees that leads to put bad impact on the mind of employees as positive thing is all about
the work ethics of team. In respect of this, relevant literature needs to be clear and depicts that
nine out of ten employees are satisfied with my managerial skills and knowledge.
Analysis: This step defines that employees have suitable chance to make appropriate
sense and analyse the situation and what happened in a team (Lestander, Lehto and Engström,
2016). For this, I put emphasis on the particular details around me and analyse the situation in an
effective manner to extract the appropriate meaning of situation. As this step is useful in
targeting the various aspects that is spend well or in bad manner. For this, analysis of academic
literature is important of the situation. At this step, I think that initial division of work and roles
is important as it is useful in describing that what went well in whole process and develop the
self identified strengths of individuals. For this, by determining the reality, Belbin team roles are
used to divide the work as it has its certain strengths and weaknesses which is important for
group to perform their work in specific manner.
Conclusion: This part of report is useful in determining that what is happened and good
for the team and associates. As it summarises the learning skills and also determine the changes
that are considered as action to enhance the future result (Jaffe and Janssens, 2016). From this
discussion, it is analysed that what I gained and learned from the overall plan and overlook all
the relevant section that is likely to be possible to make various sections together and also submit
the work in an effective manner. For this, I will continue the self identification and also

determine the strengths in most possible way and also suggest “Belbin team roles” for the
classification of work and consider my prominent skills such as communication, decision
making, problem solving and managerial skills.
Action plan: This step describes that the effective considerations that are considered for
effective management which is related with the upcoming future (Gallagher and et. al., 2017).
Moreover, it is also useful in analysing that how things are more effective and helpful in order to
act in different manner. In relation with this, required skills is developed as by considering
myself I am quite lack in conflict management that can become barrier in my success.
CONCLUSION
From the preceding discussion it is determined that reflection is important to analyse
individuals specific skills and knowledge that is important to manage team in an appropriate
manner. In this context, Gibbs model is used which is termed as the most prominent and popular
method for reflection as it carry 6 stages which is useful in describing effective procedure to
develop a team and manage it in an effective manner.
