This report, created for the MN3041QA Development for Success in Business assignment, analyzes the author's learning style and motivations for attending lectures. It begins with an autobiographical reflection on past educational experiences, goals, and attendance patterns. The report then delves into an analysis of Honey & Mumford's Learning Styles theory, comparing it to Kolb's learning style theory, and synthesizes Dolnicar's six types of attenders. A self-analysis section identifies the author as an activist learner and knowledge seeker. The report concludes with a critical assessment of the limitations of learning style assessments and the challenges of applying preferred learning styles in all situations. Introduction :-
Business is an economic activity that is undertaken to earn livelihood. I am going to share you my
experiences, that I had in my senior secondary school in which I have chosen the stream commerce and
learned about the subject business management. While doing S.S.C my goals are to get admission in a
good college so for that I studied hard in the subject business management where I got to learn about
management, it's principles, business, economic activities, planning, organising, staffing, directing,
controlling, SWOT, PESTEL, and many more.
All these theories and concept made me learn that how business runs, what are the factors necessary to
start a business, how can we establish a good management functions in our organisation.
During the S.S.C period my attendance was great, I used to attend every class of this subject as my goal
was clear and I used to love what I was studying. This subject made me grow my communication skills ,
my personality and most importantly the way I seek future, as I was studying this subject to get admission
in a good college but when I started studying this subject more deeply I understood that it's not only about
getting good college. It is about understanding, how the world economy works, Management is as much
important as the Science is. Management is all pervasive and it's everywhere.
Learning Theory Analysis
Honey and Mumford learning styles: This theory have four different styles of learning. It was written
by Peter honey and Alan Mumford in the year 1986(Srivastava. H.2021). The four learning style of this
theory is as follows:-
ACTIVIST- These are the peoples who learn after doing, They learn to their best when they are at the
last end, and when they are trying some new experience(Lowe,T.2018). Activists are the one who
comparatively doesn't learn well when they are attending a lecture and thinking or reading about a
problem of their own.
THEORIST- These are the people who understand everything at their best by understanding the theory
by questioning everything like why it is like this, what happens if it's not like this etc. They learn to their
best when they have opportunity to ask a question, when they see the purpose behind everything they
learn, and they learn least only when some of their feeling or emotion is involved in the theory. Facts and
figure, quotes, applying theories is the best suited works for them.
PRAGMATIST- They are the one who learn at their best when they got to know what they are learning
and what its use in public. Case-studies, problem-solving is the best suitable jobs for them
REFLECTOR- They are the people who learn at their best when they see how other people work. They
are best when they have given time for thought processing before work, coaching and paired discussion is
the best suited work for reflectors
COMPARISON B/W H&M THEORY AND KOLB'S LEARNING STYLE
H&M examined KOLB'S learning style and have made their own style. Despite the fact that H&M
learning style is based on KOLB'S learning style (Di Vaio.2020). There is a bit different as they have
introduced some new terms like — activists, reflectors, theorists and pragmatists.
TYPES OF ATTENDERS
Knowledge seeker:- These are the ones who rotate around in the search of new learning opportunities.
They are the one who want to increase their professional ills and built better career options for them.
Inspiration seeker:- These are the one who are looking for purpose or quality conversation.
Social Butterfly:-These are the one who are very energetic and love to spend time in talking with friends.
Tech-savvy networked:- These are the one who have a meaningful purpose to attend an event or class.
They think about B2B conversation and always search for a person suitable for them to talk.

Self-Analysis
When I read about H&M learning styles I got to know that I am an activist learner as whenever I try to
learn something new I usually want to go to its deep end and I love to working with group of people and
Puzzle solving activities or activities related to this is the best activities suites on me.
According to Dolnicar, I am a knowledge seeker as I love to gain new knowledge as well as new
experiences.
Conclusion
In H&M learning style, it is indecisive whether the questions can really know y learning way or whether
it is just a personality test.
Also, it's not easy always to learn the subject according to the way you learn the subject the most for
example — it's very hard to learn engineering just by watching an engineer.
