Introduction
Economics is not a subject of how to earn money but it is the study of social science that
teaches which circumstances identity the production of goods and services in a customer
associations. The study includes research, presentation, and lessons on how to face the facts
every day. The job in this field is risk analyst, statistics, diplomatic services, chartered
accountant, civil service, investment banking (Ng, Gossett, Chinyoka, & Obasi, 2016). This
essay includes the reasons why I have chosen the economics subject as my career.
Discussion
Economics is a degree that alters most of the things in our lives like what we work, eats,
learns, earns, etc. This study also makes the student understand the importance of supply and
demand, price, etc. A master’s degree in economics enables a student to become specialized in
the field of economics. In the field of economics, I have experienced and gained a significance of
financial flow. Every year, there are many national and international companies that draws a
large number of internship forms from student of economics for the internship and they offer a
starting salary of N40, 000 per month. Over 80% of MSc graduates earning N1, 50,000 per
month in Nigeria. As an economic student, I know all the current issues and market price of an
MSc graduates for job as compared to the other course students (Card & Peri, 2016).
There are many opportunities for MSc economics graduates. In the field of economics, I
have gained gains a lot of knowledge that is also very useful in other fields. There are many

international and national industries hiring well trained economist. I have many options for the
job and work even in different fields. A master in economics provided me a large number of
opportunities which also helps you to stand out from the crowd while looking for candidates in
positions. It helps me to become attractive to the companies in order to hire the candidates for the
job. It also allows me to do a Ph.D. in economics which will provide me a job opportunity in the
field of teaching economics in a reputed university and will also allow me to become a respected
researcher (Peou, 2017).
Economic helped me to make better decisions in my personal life and also in professional
life that enable me to get a job very quickly. I have learned about the aspects of the world and
how the world works. The study made me understand the negative and positive effects of
international trade. It also helped me in gaining knowledge about the negative as well as the
positive impact of government policies on employment. It has changed my thinking as a
Consumer and a voter by providing the relevant information (Rubinstein, 2017).
The main advantages of studying economics are: I can earn very high salaries and there
are a variety of works and opportunities even in different fields. It helps me in determining the
effects of the tax. It also made me understand how the budget has been made in order to fulfill
the objectives of the country by meeting the needs of every individual. The economics enables
me to think differently, this is such a subject that increases your knowledge as well as ability. I
got many opportunities for a job after the course with a good salary and it also made me
understand how the debt can affect the country's economy (Moon & Harris, 2016).

master’s degree in economics enables me to become specialized in the field of economics. It is
