INTRODUCTION
There are different culture and historical heritage of various countries which help in
promoting its tourism. The cultural and museums of the countries provide an attraction for
the tourists. They play a major role in attracting a large number of tourists for the
destinations of the country. The essay described the contribution of museums and cultural
heritage of the country in the sector of tourism. The essay explains the culture and heritage
development along with their impact on tourism. The management of tourism is explained
in the essay along with tourism and heritage development of the nation.
According to Timothy (2011), cultural heritage is the reflection of human beings living and
their standard which is passed on from generation to generation. Cultural heritage is a very
wide concept which can be defined as the reflection of values, lifestyles, visible and invisible
traces, systems, beliefs, tradition, etc. The cultural heritage is divided into three main parts
which include the natural environment, build environment, and artifacts. The agricultural
heritage, rural landscapes, and coasts and shorelines are the types of natural heritage.
Archeological items, townscapes, and buildings are some of the types of the built
environment. Books and documents, objects, and pictures, etc. are examples of Artefacts.
According to Lenzerini (2011), the cultural heritage is the factor which includes monumental
remains of the cultures which should be preserved in order to pass the same in the next and
future generation. The cultural heritage can be divided into two main parts which include
tangible heritage and intangible heritage. The tangible heritage includes buildings,
landscape, and artifacts and the intangible heritage include oral history, voices, traditions,
values, etc. Both the tangible and intangible heritage of culture worked together with each
other and are bound with each other. The intangible cultural heritage is important for
achieving the objective of transferring the knowledge to the future generation and preserve
the immaterial cultural heritage for the future use. The intangible cultural heritage is as
relevant as the tangible cultural heritage and it is more important to preserve the intangible

cultural heritage than the tangible cultural heritage. Tangible cultural heritage and
intangible cultural heritage requires a number of different approaches preservation and
safeguarding. UNESCO has the main objective of preserving the tangible and intangible
cultural heritage by spreading the knowledge of natural and human heritage. The
recognition for the value and importance of the cultural heritage of the country, UNESCO
has also established the role of preservation of cultural heritage which will serve as a driver
of the sustainable development of the nations. UNESCO stands for United Nations
education, social and cultural organizations organizes different programs which help in
understanding the importance of intangible cultural heritage to the nation and people by
highlighting their importance for the tourism sector and the for the country a whole.
Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible cultural heritage or CSICH was organizes by
UNESCO for describing the relevance of intangible cultural heritage of the country. The
intangible cultural heritage is the factors which cannot be developed or created by human
efforts. These components of cultural heritage also cannot be destroyed or bought or sold
or owned by any government, society, individual, or other bodies. The UNESCO convention
established in the year 2003 which has the main purpose of identifying, managing,
preserving, and promoting the intangible cultural heritage. The strategies and policies are
made by the UNESCO convention for facilitating the understanding of the growing relevance
of the intangible cultural heritage of the country which is necessary for its tourism growth.
There are various factors which influence the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the
country. The cultural heritage of the country is affected by the change in the technology,
innovations, change in perceptions and values of the general people. The lifestyle and
thinking of the current and future generation subsequently impact the intangible cultural
heritage of the country. The political factors such as a change in governance, change in
policies and regulations, and other legal requirements also affect the cultural heritage of the
nation.

includes factors such as art, art, festival, music, sense of sites, architecture, infrastructure,
historic sites, language, handicrafts, local events, heritage resources, nature of work
environment, and modern form of historical values. Heritage tourism is gaining importance
as an important factor of the global tourism industry in various countries. Museums play a
crucial role in the development of the tourism and cultural heritage of the country. The
main and basic products of the cultural heritage of a nation include different monuments,
