Purpose of action research in topic
The action research is based on the impact of online education during the pandemic
covid-19. On this particular research to reference of various method that help for evaluating and
investigating the significant impacts. Generally, it should be created the way to address problem
or issue within online education.
The problem can come from the different factors such as instructional, academic and
organizations. Sometimes, it is very difficult for teacher to express the more depth knowledge of
particular subject by using online education (Chevalier and Buckles, 2019). Action research can
be implemented on the online learning methods so that it help for eliminating the issue or
problem during pandemic COVID-19. The primary aim of action plan within online education to
improve the quality, success of programmes. Through action plan, it can be examined the aim
and objective of research.
Aim: To investigate the impact of online education during the pandemic covid-19

Identifying the features of action research process
The action research is that when recognize the educator as people that contribute or
influence towards online education. During COVID-19, they have initiated to promote the
concept of online learning. Furthermore, it should include key features and applicable in the
topic.
 It involves the participation and involvement of different members.
 The research action process have been started on small scale and identifying the evidence
which compiled.
 Creating a suitable aim is to make adjust, manage or resolve the issues on the basis of
evaluation.

According to researcher, project should not be credible as an invalid but it has required the
knowledge about the criticism. There are different way to overcome the problem while
developing credibility as well as reliability.

Justification to select area of practice
In this action research, I will select the practice in term of communication or
collaboration between teacher and student. In order to determine the barrier and parent who find
difficult to interact with teacher. The research is basically look at the communication barrier and
tried to overcome through different strategies (Coghlan, 2019 ). I have been considered the
parental engagement strategy so that they also participate in child’s learning activities at home.
This will help for providing the advantage or benefits.
 Parent also improved their own skill or knowledge during online session at home. In
future, if it will increase the demand of online education. It become easier for parents to
resolve queries of child in proper manner.
Produce plan through intervention strategy
The engagement of student or parents that can involve towards online education during
COVID-19. It help for participating of student in online classes or session. The research has
shown that learner sped lot of time in their online classes.
Furthermore, in context of online education, I will make an effective intervention plan
for both student and parents. I will use the different online platform which providing the
username, password for student. Sometimes, if child unable to access the information about
online classes. Parent also login to check the availability of online learning. In this way, it
directly establishing the interconnection with school where teacher provide the better quality of
online classes.
Justified the timescale of intervention strategy
it is an important to make improvement in the online education so that it can easily
increase academic performance through intervention strategy. Teacher will provide the online

assignment for student. In this way, it help for teacher to identify the performance of student
during online education.
The time scale
I have completed the online study within specific timer intervals and consider an
appropriate intervention. Therefore, I could select the observation and establish connection with
teacher during online education. Everything depend on the academic literature, which completely
emphasis the significance of parental engagement within online education. It is increasing the
great opportunity for improving the knowledge, skill through online medium during COVID-19.
Considerations of ethical as well as political issue in term of confidentiality.
In this research action, it should be focused on the ethical practices which may consider
into different forms. It means that perform the different activities such as planning, controlling,
managing and responding. All of these are affected due to ethical issues in term of confidentiality
or privacy.
Ethical and political issues that I would like to consider during online education. in case,
school is not properly maintained the confidentiality information of participants. Therefore,
anyone can access the details that’s why, it has increased the ethical issue or problem (Cook,
Brandon and Thomson, 2019). But large number school can provide the online education at
home during COVID-19. They always setting the privacy and do not disclosed information. As
considered the suitable setting such as authorized person have a right to withdraw. Children have
taken a specific permission from authorized teacher within particular school.
Implement the intervention strategy
I have been implemented the intervention strategy that help for establishing better
coordination between teacher, student and parents. I also asked about the parent A and parent B
in regarding the use of online education during Covid-19, Also impact on the performance of
student. In order to provide the better option of parents where they can easily established the
strong engagement with school authority.
One parent –A has shown the interest towards the online education that are completing
impact on the positive manner. In this way, it keep protect themselves and also continue learning
new innovative subjects.

Another parent –b is highly agreed within the use of online education during COVID-19,
which help for providing the better visualization for children in term of learning. In order to
enhance the academic performance.
The parents also shared the importance of communication in term of online learning. On
the other hand, it should use two way communication through Email. This method is basically
used by teacher to meet the specific need or requirement of children in term of online education.
For data exchange, email was considered the sophisticated way to share information across
multiple student, parents who have been participating in the online education session.
Method or technique of action research
In this research, I have chosen two appropriate method which help for gathering lot of
information or data. There are specific unique advantage and disadvantage but I could use in this
research. It involves interviews and questionnaires.
The objective of research was depending the collection of relevant data in regards the
impact of online education during COVID-19. Furthermore, it has been conducting the
questionnaire for interacting with parents where how could be managed the online education
during current scenario. Researcher has been used qualitative research so that they can consider
questionnaire for identifying opinion and view point of parents.
Furthermore, Alternative interview method which mainly covered the topic of online
education and how it become useful in term of communication (Glassman, 2020). By using this
method, respondent give a proper response in order to determine the right direction path.
Generally, the interview is mainly used in qualitative research because it is reliable and helping
to compare with other data or information in proper manner.
Evaluating the research methods
There are two different way to collect or gather data such as qualitative and quantitative.
In this research, it is particularly used the qualitative method which providing the better
understanding towards research topic. The unstructured technique is looked at the further to
gather information for purpose of gain depth understanding. The qualitative method is basically
include interviews, group discussion and questionnaires.
For analyzing the qualitative information that can prove it to be difficult. There was an
occasion where I can easily receive too much details about it. Sometimes, it can identify the

valuable for further expansion. I could only identify the simpler way to apply and gain more
benefits.
Analysed the data collection ways
As per analysed the data collection which require to select appropriate approach in
research. There are different type of research approaches such as inductive and deductive. The
researcher has been chosen inductive approach because it is based on the consider pre-existing
theories (Johnson, 2020). This has provided the better idea about the result or outcome. On the
other hand, deductive approach is directly linked with quantitative research.
Afterwards, it has been conducting the data analysis but need to take closer look towards
existing theories. In order to summarize in easy manner but sometimes, it is difficult to consume
limited time intervals. When using inductive approach to find out the specific purpose of
research by using hypothesis testing, research questions.
Chosen literature in regards of action research
Manfra (2019) it is essential aspects of schools and their parents to understand the
benefits and impact of online education during COVID-19. Moreover, it has determined the
communication barrier but it also removed through intervention strategy. In order to create an
effective coordination between teachers, parent and student at the time online classes. Each and
every one coordinate with each other.
On the basis of literature review, I will include the specific theme to give idea about the
impact of online education in term of academic performance. Also helping for develop the
parental engagement at home. I will try to build coordination with children parents so that they
can easily influence student towards online education. Furthermore, it should be considered the
different policies and procedures to eliminate communication barriers.
Justified the methods selected for action research
In this research, it has been justified that selected the data collection method and
qualitative approach. Afterwards, it can easily target the motivating parents towards online
education during COVID -19. By using interviews, I have gathered the opinion of teacher and
parents towards the research topic. This enable for me to gain more knowledge and also
improved the own abilities.

Gather or collect data to area of practice within action research
As per collecting the data or information, it require to increase opportunity for teacher to
improve their skill or knowledge. in order to show the better online learning quality so that
improve the online education during COVID-19. The relevant study is that when conducting
questionnaires for consider the opinion or view point about the online educating during COVID-
19. Through this technique, it took place instead of asking struggle or recall to do many months
later.

As per analysis, it has summarized that maximum parent agree on the concept of online
education during pandemic COVID-19. It help for protect and safe from infectious spread
disease. Furthermore, it can be determined that 6 respondent said yes, 4 respondent said no. this
will help for identifying the opinion or view point of parent through questionnaires.

Interviews
Question-1 what should the better way to consider online education during COVID-19?
Parent A: in my personal opinion, it is important for maintaining an effective coordination
between teacher and student. It can be possible to consider online classes whereas it help for
learning particular subject through online mode. In order to establish the strong communication
with student, also have minimized the causes through Coronavirus. It might be here to stay home
and continue learning through online sessions.
Parent B: I completely agree with the concept of online learning during these days. It is very
risky to go out of home. Some of children have faced the problem in term of understanding. But
parent will know to help in learning at home.
Presenting the data collection
The relevant information was presented by addressing the answer of parents during
interviews. In this way, it is becoming useful for finding the appropriate strategies to resolve
communication barrier issue or problem during online session.
I have been focused on the parents which mainly faced the issue and don’t properly
coordinate with their own children in term of academic performance improvement. That’s why,
it has been conducted the interviews to understand the opinion or view point. Afterwards, it also
tried to eliminate barriers.
Conclusion on the basis of finding from action research
On the basis of interview, I have learnt about the importance of online education during
COVI D-19. Through this study, it emphasis with the teacher, parent and student that perform
significant role. Interview has considered as great opportunity to collect or gather more
information. It help for expansion of research in future aspect.
However, it was criticism that concern about the opinion of parents where they can help
for children to inspire or motivate towards online education.

Own finding and conclusions
As per discussion, I have been highlighting the specific problem or issue that require to
recommend for implementing an effective strategies. I have gained more knowledge about the
involvement of children towards online education and how it directly impact on the academic
performance. The positive aspect is that when it ensure that all parent should participate in the
online learning classes with children. In order to improve communication barriers.
Justification own recommendations for actions to be taken
In the context of online learning and teaching because of Pandemic I believe that one of the main
barriers is communication due to internet problem and other reasons. Sometimes students find
problems in listening and due to poor internet connection and lack of access to internet
connection, students find problem in learning which affect their schedule and study. So, in this
regard I want to recommend to parents and teachers as well that by making an official website
and page teachers can provide notes to students and can also make them able to record lectures
and by doing so, students can listen to them anytime (Hoi and et.al., 2018). Online Sample can
also be done and by doing so, teachers can get details of their students. By making use of
recording instrument teachers can make video of lecture and can upload it on their website and it
can remove this communication barrier.
Effectiveness of own practice relation to action research
In this study I focused on engaging parents and students because parents engagement in
inline learning is the key of success because students can lie to their parents but if teachers make
parents aware and make them engaged then learning can be improved. I also focused on
developing video and uploading them to official website in order to remove communicational
barriers. I believe that I considered all main aspects and areas which are creating problems in
online learning. Online sampling methods also allow teachers in getting information’s of
students and engaging them in learning.
Strengths and areas of improvement
By conducting this research I found both strengths and weaknesses areas. In positive side I found
that I have creativity skill as I solved problem of communication barriers and it is effective as
well. But when communicating with parents and uploading videos on official sites, some parents
complained and recommended for better improvement as they find problems in understanding
language because some parents are not well educated and do not understand English language. I

found that I am lacking in public speaking skill as I wanted to make parents aware about it but
due to fear of speaking I missed that chance (Hidayat, Rukmini and Bharati, 2019).
I also found that I have integrity, decision-making and skill of active listening as I
understand problems of parents which they are facing and accordingly I took immediate and
effective actions. By taking feedbacks from parents and students I get detailed information and
suggestions and accordingly solved their problems.
Plan opportunities to improve own skills
I found that I am lacking in public speaking skill and for that I found some strategies to improve
this. Practicing in front of mirror by assuming people are there and listening. Increasing
confidence and taking initiative of talking in front of parents and taking feedbacks at the end in
order to make them feel valued I tried to improve this skill. By listening and more focusing on
body language, ability to understand human behavior and practicing on one topic again and
again, this problem can be solved out.
