MEANING OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism essentially means copying someone else’s work and not giving
the due credit. This is not good for students as it does not reflect well on
them. This can lead towards creation of problems and issues for them as the
grades which they will obtain for their assignments will be extremely low
and thus this will lead towards academic misconduct. Thus this is not good
for the students.

WHY STUDENTS DO PLAGIARISM
 There are different reasons due to which students do plagiarism. These
reasons are as follows-
 Some of the students have a lack of knowledge on the subject which has
been given to them for their academic assignment. Thus they are not able to
understand what has to be written in a particular assignment.
 Some of the students have a habit of copying from the work of others and
then representing it as their own work. This habit leads them to practice
plagiarism and thus this can create problems and issues for them as they
will get low grade in their assignments.
 Some students are not sure how to approach a particular assignment and in
the process practice plagiarism by copying the work which has been done
by others.
 Some students do not want to put in their own efforts for the assignments.
Thus they practice plagiarism by copying the work of others.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism can be avoided by the students if they adopt proper techniques
and methods. The students can make sure that they can adopt proper
techniques and methods to avoid and obtain good marks at their
assignments. For this purpose, they can make use of paraphrasing. In it, the
students can frame the work of someone in their own words by using the
right techniques and methods. They can make sure that they are using their
own words after understanding the meaning of the work of others and then
they can represent it in own words without problems and issues. Thus in this
way the students can get help for their academic assignments and can also
avoid plagiarism.

PLAGIARISM EFFECT ON
STUDIES
Plagiarism can create an effect on the studies of a student because by
practicing plagiarism a student can never learn about the actual concepts
and cannot gain meaningful knowledge. Thus this has an adverse effect on
the students and this can lead towards a decrease in their grades in the
assignments as well.

LITERATURE REVIEW
 According to (Bailey and Trudy, 2018), plagiarism is an act of copying from
the work of others.
 According to (Bruton and Childers, 2016), plagiarism is an act of
representing someone else’s work as own work without giving credit where
it is necessary.

CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that plagiarism is not good for
students as it can lead towards low grades for them in the university. Thus
the students should make sure that their work is free from plagiarism and
thus the higher level of efficiency and effectiveness can be maintained by
them.
