INTRODUCTION
Personal interview is a process where face to face interaction between the interviewer and
candidate take place and the evaluation and assessment is made if the candidate is right for the
job. There are 2 people under this, interviewer who takes interview and interviewee who gives
interview (Anzaldúa, 2020). In this report more detailed information about the personal interview
is provided. One real situation is also discussed. Along with the advantage and disadvantages of
the personal interview to the hotel.
TASK 4
P6: Personal Interview for Job.
Position: hotel supervisor
Interviewee: May I come in sir?
Interviewer: Come in and have a seat.
Interviewee: Thank you so much sir and a happy morning.
Interviewer: Same to you. So tell me something about yourself?
Interviewee: My name is Mathew hales and i am 28 year old. I believe that I have excellent
managing skill and believe in team work. I have good communication skills as well.
Interviewer: So as you know that the job profile is for hotel supervisor and we find your
application suitable for it. Coming to the profile do you have any prior knowledge about the
profile, the role and responsibility related to it?
Interviewee: Yes sir, I have basic knowledge about the role as it is related to managing a team
and there are lot of responsibility attach to it like team building and improving the efficiency
of the group allotted to me. But i will like to know more about the same.
Interviewer: Managing the employee is the essential element and bringing coordination and
handling issues are the responsibility. You will be the face of the hotel so you should know
how to carry yourself. Discipline becomes an essence of the job. For you as well as for your
team. Focus should be given on services to the customer should be qualitative.
Interviewee: thanks a lot sir. I believe i can do this mentioned things. I am looking forward to the
job and i will give my 100% on it.

Time consuming: it takes lot of time as the process is lengthy and it may delay recruitment
and selection process. Starwood hotel will like to adapt more efficient method to save time
Costly: the process also required a lot of cost as expenditure is high on conducting a
interview (Bašnáková and et. al., 2015). Set up cost is high which another disadvantage for
the hotel is.
