INTRODUCTION
There are various skills which needs to be possessed by individual. It allows in attaining
goals and objectives in effective way. So, they must be enhanced so that in future job opportunity
can be grabbed easily.
MAIN BODY
I realised that there are several skills which is required in future growth and to attain goals
and objectives. These skills are necessary to be possessed by individual in their personal as well
as professional growth and development. Similarly, in my opinion the areas needs to be
developed as i want to go in tourism sector. In that there is a lot of demand of various types of
skills in it. so, my skills are defined as below :
Technical skill- I believe that best way to learn something innovation, which always support
for enhancing own ability towards the desirable goal and objective. it is becoming an
autonomous learner which in itself require technical skills. I have developed technical skill so
that participate in the various online course, which give me brief idea about the different
technique or method. It mainly include Microsoft presentation, Visio and other tool (Drigas and
Papoutsi, 2019 ). In my personal experience, this type of different tool or platform help for career
enhancement. During this course, I have learnt so many innovative technique to handle the
complex situation or condition. in order to resolve queries in proper manner. I also tried to
prepare an accurate research presentation and I know little about the various components that
help for make successful presentation. Usually, I feel nervous because it is becoming difficult for
me to find about the better technical skill. In order to gain more knowledge and deliver the best
result or outcome. After learning new IT skills but I have taken feedback from tutor’s side. This
will help for me to identify the weakness or strength. In beginning, I have faced the fear and
confidence by becoming involved in the technical discussion.
Afterwards, I have improved technical skill through different module. I knew how to use
Microsoft word, power point presentation and email to search various information or data.
Information technology session have been contributed greatly. Now I am confidence to use
internet and other platform on daily life. This type of IT and technical skill will help for me in
the workplace. I have done my own task in flexible manner. According to me, technical skill will
support for professional development and also established the strong position within
organization. Furthermore, I have learn how to use database, PowerPoint. I will contribute to

build own ability and improve technical skills, Also increasing growth opportunities within
travel agency.
Decision making skills- I found that I need to sharpen my decision making skills. This is
because I am not able to take decision and it hamper my performance. I have made effective
progress in it. now, I am aware about what process is to be followed in taking decision. Besides
that, I am able to find out alternative solution and analyse them to take effective decision. But I
faced certain problems in it. I made many mistakes in beginning and was not able to understand
that how decisions are taken. Then, I faced problem to apply decision. I did it in wrong way and
it took lot of time for me to learn it. in order to overcome both problem first of all I prepared
notes on it and learned what steps are followed. then, I proceeded it with help of those steps and
did it successfully. So, in this way I overcome my problem. Here, I learned that with help of
proper procedure and doing things in systematic way skills can be improved. It provide a
framework that what needs to be do and how (Kenayathulla, Ahmad and Idris, 2019 ). Also, I
learned how to make analyse decisions and then take effective one. It will be helpful for me in
tourism sector as I will be able to take proper decision and accordingly do my task and solve
customer problems. So, I want to work with a tourism agency and achieve my goals. Here, I
applied decision making theory which was useful for me to accomplish objectives. The theory
contained elements which I applied in it and this led to obtain of outcomes. For taking the
effective decision masking which will be engaged in looking on the journey in looking there to
make the person to knew have the various decision making. Decision making is important in my
motivation and boosting my confidence level. It will allow me to take decision and apply it. This
is also providing these types of facilities and benefit in time. On the other hand, taking the
negative impacts as the leaders to make the better decision making as business aspects in perfect
manner.
Creativity skills- this is also a skill which I need to enhance. I am not highly creative in
doing my task. I am not able to work in creative way which is affecting my professional growth.
So, I think that creativity skills needed to be gained. I will develop it to my highest level. By
working in creative way I will achieve goal in time and it will increase my efficiency. I have
made a good progress towards it. I think outside the box and find out creative way to do tasks.
Here, I do small changes in it and then do it accordingly. I am trying to be innovative in my
work. So, slowly I am able to do so. Furthermore, I faced some problems as well in it. here, by

creativity I was not able to complete task on time. As I did work in through some other way
then I find it difficult to adopt things. So, I resisted in doing it. I overcame this problem by
learning things and then applying them. First of all I analysed that whether creativity is suitable
as per task or not. Then, by working in that way for some time I compared outcomes with goals.
So, in that way I was able to finish task on time and work in creative way (Khosravi, Rezvani
and Ashkanasy, 2020 ). Here, I learned many things that it is not easy to work in creative way.
Moreover, creativity is to be applied then it must be suitable to work. Alongside, creativity can
generate negative outcomes as well. I know how to analyse creativity while working. I also
gained knowledge ways of working in creative style. Now, I am capable enough to think outside
box and work in creative way. It has improved my efficiency and capability. I am having
experience as well. this skill will highly support me in my tourism career. By doing work in
creative way I will be able to achieve my goals. Besides that, I will found out new ways on how
to perform task as in tourism there are different activities to be done. So, it will improve my
productivity as well as performance. it will also sharpen my mind and ability to understand
things. In addition, I will be able to think differently from others and find out new ways of doing
tasks. Thus, I will be highly creative in my work. From here, I will like to work at some
tourism company. I want to become a leader so that I can bring creativity in operations.
Interpersonal skills- it is the area in which I require development. The interpersonal skills
are considered as an important to use in everyday lives when established the communication or
interact with one. Usually, I have learn about the interpersonal skill and increase the interaction
with colleagues. This will help for me to build a strong between different people. I have
identified the opinion, belief and thoughts. I have focused on the interpersonal skill and try to
interact with different people (Razinkina and et.al., 2019 ). In this way, I have used to
communicate and relate with family member, colleagues and friends. As I have come to
participate in the different session in order to develop the abilities. In this way, I have improved
the interpersonal skill in step by step manner. Furthermore, it also supporting in the professional
growth where I have maintained face to face conversation. I also improved the capability of
gazing into eye of individual that established an effective communication. It can be possible
when I have inspire or motivate towards interpersonal skills.
When I will able to communicate with different staff members. In tourism industry, it has
required the high level of interpersonal skill so that it can easily handle the business operation

and function. That’s why, I will apply on agency to show my interpersonal skill because I really
want to work within a tourism agency. In order to establish the career and achieve desirable goal
sometimes, I have been applied the behavioral theory to improve attitude, behavior towards
manager in travel agency.
Communication skills- it is a common and basic skill which is required. So I analysed
that my communication skills was very weak. I need to improve it so that I am able to
communicate properly and in effective manner to others. So, this is area of my development.
Now, I have made a brilliant progress. I know various types of communication and its ways as
well. for example- formal, informal, etc and verbal non verbal, etc. so, I am easily able to interact
and communicate with people. However, there were some problems as well which is faced in it. I
was not able to understand that what type of communication needs to applied. Also, I was very
weak in non verbal communication. It highly affected on my performance. It was difficult for me
to identify body language and signs. Thus, to overcome this I searched on internet and then
learned meaning of body language and various signs. With that it was easy for me to find
meaning of sign (Valieva, 2020). During process I learned that body sign play vital role in
communication. Furthermore, there are meaning of it and they reflect particular message.
Besides I gained knowledge about various forms of communication as well. I think that this
communication skill will highly support me in my tourism career. I will be able to communicate
well with manager or any other staff. Moreover, as in tourism high level communication skill is
required. So I can show my skills to recruiters. Thus, I want to work with a tourism agency as I
like to interact with a lot of people. Here, I applied cognitive and behavioral theory in it. these
both was useful for me to find out how people communicate and it reflect their behavior.
Communications skills have been the important aspect in professional growth as to have regret
effective level of communication will allow me to lead there satisfying lives at the work and
anyone else where. This is about having the active listen skills to have the incorporating the
views of proper communication as writing skills in term of specific data to communicate. There
is need to make the developments the communicate the info in clear manner verbally. I need to
develop the better communication, highly skilled communications as entering the people the
workforces. This will be helpful in building the confidence, analysing the situation, briefing the
task clearly and improvement in body languages and observation of knowledge. Also, i must
learn types and ways of communication.

Emotional skills- I need to develop this skill as I am not able to control my emotions. I
get angry very fast as I am short tempered. Due to it, I shout on anyone who is in front of me. So,
it creates a bad impression of me as I lose my control. This highly hamper my performance and
I start reacting on small things. Therefore, I have made decent progress in it as i try to remain
cool and calm in situation. So it has benefited me a lot. Now, I do not react quickly and work
silently. It has helped me a lot in doing work on time and creating a good impression. By
remaining calm I analyse things and on basis of that I find out creative way to work. Here I faced
some problem as well (van Laar and et.al., 2020). at initial I was not able to remain calm, so it
affected my performance. I always reacted quickly so it resulted in obtaining negative outcomes.
Besides that, I did not understand emotions of other people. So, it was difficult for me share
views with them. I overcame it by creating a plan. in that I analysed outcomes of my rude
behavior. Then I improved by making changes in my behavior.
So, I learned a lot in it, I gained knowledge that emotional skills can be enhanced.
Also, what are ways of doing it and how to keep mind calm while working in critical times.
Along with it, I know how to listen to emotions of others and interact with them. It allows in
making things easy and control my anger. This will highly support me to deal with people who
are short tempered. I will be able to work calmly in workload and also motivate others. Besides
that, I will listen to problems of others and understand their emotions. Thus, I want to work in
tourism industry where there are vast opportunity for growth. It will be easy for me to work in
effective way and enhance my performance.
CONCLUSION
Hereby, it is summarised that i require development in various areas. This will enable me
to progress in my relevant field that is tourism. I faced several problems during improving skills
but i effectively overcome them. These all will highly help me in accomplishing my future goals
and working in tourism industry. Also, my productivity and efficiency will be improved as well.
