Introduction
In the recent years, crimes have flourished the growth of criminal offences, drug abuse, sexual
harassments, murders and other family related concerns. Therefore, the law and legal systems of
England and Wales has to perform suitably and work collaboratively in order to resolve the
matters of concern and create a fair justice system. The essay will be revolving around different
roles as well as responsibilities of the legal bodies of England and Wales. The essay has provided
a detailed comprehension of the range of public services including probation, prison, and court
and has portrayed a clear picture of the importance of the legal bodies in maintaining a suitable
environment in England and Wales.

Discussion
The civil and criminal rights are regarded to be obligatory in the modern generation. The recent
years have witnessed an enormous growth as well as development of the population that has
exponentially promoted the growth of crimes across the global platter including UK. There are
several legal systems as well as governmental agencies that prevent the public rights and governs
the legislations that are obligatory for the organisations to maintain within their organisation.
These agencies and governmental bodies provide public services in delivering the criminal
justice procedures. The governmental agencies include the CPS or the Crown Prosecution
Services, which is an independent public authority that has the responsibility to execute the
operations that involves charges of the police with a criminal offence (Antonioun and Akrivos
2017).
The crown Prosecution Services has the rights of prosecuting people of England and Wales. The
independent public authority is responsible for maintaining a suitable environment while the
verdict is on the criminal trial. The CPS officials are responsible for investigation of the crimes
and the report that are reported by the common people as well as the problems faced by the
organisation. There are more than forty police forces present in England and Wales that has the
responsibility to report and investigate the criminal offences occurred in different parts of
England and Wales (Police.uk, 2019).
The prison staffs are also allotted with several roles as well as responsibilities that revolve
around the supervision of the criminals inside the prison. Several people behind the high walls of
prison work hard in order to change the course of their lives under the strict supervision of the
staffs of the prison. The staffs of prison ensure that the criminals inside the prison maintain the
ethics as well as decorum of the prison and promote the growth of positive mindset of the
prisoners. In case of serious crimes such as robbery and murder the responsibility of the police to
pass the case to the higher court or the Crown court. The victims are sentenced under several
considerations that mainly involve the improvement of the victims by changing the behavior of
the victims. The overall sentence of the victims can be reduced in the future based on the
improvement of the victim inside the prison (View, 2019).

In order to ensure that the entire legal structure yields an appropriate growth and eases the
procedures related to the prosecution of the criminal justice, it is obligatory for the agencies to
work in a collaborative manner. Despite of the fact that the Crown prosecution agencies are an
independent legal body, the organisation ensures that the operational procedures are connected to
the rest of the public services in the country. A criminal activity comes to notice of the police
departments via the common people that might have witnessed the criminal activity. The police
determining the seriousness of the situation have to responsibility to act towards the mitigation of
the negative scenario (Thomas 2016). The Crown Prosecution Services are also involved in the
procedures that involve serious scenarios such as murders and robbery. There are several
scenarios where the victims are missing and the CPS ensures that they investigate the case and
look for the clues and causes for the criminal activity (Cps.gov.uk, 2019).
In addition to this, the National Probation Service or the NPS are also involved in the
investigation procedures. Once the court passes the sentence to the victims, the probation
services are responsible for the improvement of the victims under their supervision, the
development as well as employment of the victims after the entire tenure of the trial has passed.
On the other hand, the Her Majesty Courts and Tribunal Services (HMCTS) manage the less
serious cases that involve the criminal offences such as offenses related to ASBO. However,
these cases often experience damage to the social behaviors as some of the cases involve the
presence of celebrities. The cases operated in the courts of Her Majesty includes drink and drive,
minor accidents, and anti social behaviors of an individual in a governmental organisation such
as hospitals. The HMCTS are also responsible for executing cases that involves disputes of
family and the victims are provided with caveat forms that inform the court any further
information of interest assuring the court that an individual has a priority interest on the property.
The increased consumption of alcohol has influenced the procedures of the legal systems and it
has been observed that most of the cases involve the ASBO or the Anti Social Behavior Order
(Ons.gov.uk 2019). However, the procedures to mitigate the issues are related to the criminal
offences involves some steps that are can violate a concrete manner and therefore: “The
accommodation of the conflicting interests of the society is defined as justice, and there are no
magnificent pathway to achieve the accommodation in a concrete way.”

As per the stats of Ons.gov.uk (2019), the rate of vehicle offenses has increased by 3% in streets
of London and Wales. There are several motor vehicle robberies in UK more than 10% increase
and 17% increase in the robbery offences that has been increasing every year. However, a mere
but 1% decrease has been witnessed in the burglary. Furthermore, the growth as well as
development in the technological sectors have provide several benefits to the humankind
however, it has also promoted the growth of fraud agencies and services that delivers fraud
services to the people of England and Wales. The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau is the
responsible unit for analyzing and gathering the information related to the fraud trade and
commerce across the country. Generally, the tribunal courts handle the less serious cases that are
related to the youth offending and family cases. The tribunal courts have the responsibility to
sentence the criminals involved in less serious crimes to the local prisons (Frevel and Rogers
2016). Furthermore, the community trigger is regarded as one of the most influential; matter of
concern in the criminal justice. The community trigger involves the roles as well as
responsibilities of the agencies in behaving towards the mitigation of anti-social behaviours.
The trust and respect of the public in the agencies highly depends on the community triggers and
therefore, it is extremely essential for the public services to look into the matter and provide
verdict towards mitigation of the scenario. The response of the agencies in the criminal cases has
reduced the anti social behaviours to the further extent lately. However, crimes such as rapes,
sexual harassment, gender stereotyping and other similar criminal offenses that persist on
England and Wales (Tompson et al., 2015). The Crown Prosecution Services police departments,
National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, and the HMCTS combines their respective roles as well as
responsibilities and create a fair justice systems for the resolution of several domestic crimes and
sexual offences. As per the stats provided by Police.uk (2019), an average of 7.9% of women and
4.2% of the men experiences domestic violence in England and Wales. Furthermore, it has been
observed that the generally individual aged between 16 to 24 is prone to get involved in crimes.
Furthermore, there is a significant increase in the fraud operations and the stats explains that in
the year of 2017, a total of 653 fraud cases have been recorded and the offences related to theft is
more than 3000. The CPS and other legal bodies have to ensure that they employ more
employees as the exponential increase of population leads to higher chances of crimes.
Furthermore, the Fraud Intelligence Bureau has recorded over 10,758 (thousands)4 cyber crimes
and misuse of computer.
