DETERMINE APPROPRIATE ICT

TASK 1
a) The current needs of the college
According to the scenario, The CEO wants to expand the college as there will be an increase
in the number of students and staff. So, here the list below :
1) There will be need of five classrooms, where students can take the classes.
2) The need for 30 desktops for every student to perform the practical’s in every
classroom.
3) And all the staff also need a laptop which is used by the staff in classrooms.
4) One projector in all the classrooms.
5) One room with 10 desktops for trainers.
6) One more room with a big screen for conferences.
The ITC projected requirements are:
To implement the above requirements list are:
1) High-speed internet connection is a must that can support a large number of students.
2) All the system have the RAM between 16 to 32 GB.
3) The system has a high performance processor.
4) All the system should have fast and reliable operating systems according to the
requirement.
5) Need the hard disk with sufficient storage.
6) High-speed graphics processor.
b)
The environment of Ranford’s Organization
As the above scenario of Ranford’s organization, there is need to expand the
organisation as there are increasing the number of students to avoid the disturbance and to
provide the facilities for upcoming students in the college. So, to overcome the problem of
space there will need to build another floor and provide the five classrooms for students with
the best configuration of hardware (desktop). Two more room is a need for trainers, in which
one room with ten desktops for trainers are provided and another room for a conference with
one big screen that is touch screen. This is the scenario is after the implementation before the
implementation there is only one floor with some classrooms for students but as the number
students increase CEO advice the IT manager to expand it and also want to apply ICT to
make students to learn new technologies that will make them stand . Build confidence in the
students and help them to overcome the problems related to the technologies.

Changes and Trends
As the time come forward so , there is need to use the new technologies that helps in to solve
the problem and students also get the knowledge of these technologies. Information
technologies required network for sharing the information, to easily accessing the data and to
deliver the information fast . Its aim is to deliver the new technologies to the students of
Ranford’s college. It also provides some key features to the organization of Ranford’s like
organisation wireless network, which connects the staff and the students devices through the
broadband via cloud applications etc. Every organization is different in location and
differently use the ICT . It increase the use of the application of cloud and the tools that are
based on it. It also provide the fastest broadband to connect through cloud applications. It
increase the use by students and staff of devices like mobile computing .It allow the wifi in
the organisation to easily get the mobile learning . It makes the changes in the classroom by
alternating the projectors. IOT is also comes when there is ICT as it increases the gathering
and transmitting the information through network.

Goals of ITC towards Ranford’s
Its goal is to grow the students by making possible of learning different methods in the
classrooms. And it also serves the students to recognize the variety of cultures and the
importance of it. It helps the students to prepare for tomorrow and to learn things with
flexible mind . It introduce the software application, modelling and programming language
basic .It provides the communication between the staffs and the students . It serves the
changes in future by adjusting to the inevitable future. It provides the attractive classroom
and interactive too . As it may have Apple televisions and other gadgets to make it attractive .
Projectors and slim screen which is touch screen are used to make effective the classroom. It
will interact the students in the classroom too. And make them comfortable to learn the new
technologies. It will increase the knowledge of the students and help them to build the
confidence to face the challenges in the future.
Objective of ITC
Its Objective to progress the students that are confident towards the IT . As it provides the
technologies to learn that are up to date by the students and the staffs of the Randford’s
organisation and will be able to retrieve the information from anywhere and anytime. ITC
will help you to integrate the technologies that are engaged by the large number of students .
It help to make staff and the students to use of digital technology . By doing this it will make
the students to build up their knowledge in the classroom and outside it too. Through this
students learn with different domains so, it will build the confidence in each students to tackle
any problem this include the communication , creative towards work , in solving the
problem.

Future Requirements Of ICT
There is a need continue recovery as there is continued growth of employment. There is an
increase in the growth in the field like hardware electronic moderator etc. It gives the fast
recovery with the rate of higher growth. As there is the employment of software is increasing
7.0 percent, employment in electronics software is also increasing, employment in web-based
increasing. It provides the good opportunity in future for the classroom to enable the
integration the technology of learning by the use of network, computers software specialized,
technology for audience response, devices like listening assistive. There is a chance to
improve or to take forward in future. It produces the learning environment for students in the
classroom. In future the world becomes computerized and all the work was done without
using pen-paper(In text: Classroom.synonym.com, 2019).

Project objective and goal Its goal is to grow the students by making

reliable and fast. Operating system and
processor should be compatible.
Budget The cost of maintenance and buying hardware
and software should not exceed $ 100,000.
Time The whole projects need to be completed within
the given time.

Implying the new changes will allow the students to stay updated with the technology

Project planning stages will be initiation, gathering requirements, executing the plans,
maintenance after deploying, project termination. After completion of this project, the college
will have above described devices as to start a diploma course which will benefit into
enrolment of more students(In text: Little, et, al.,1974).
Recommendations
The labs should be automated to save electricity. The lectures should be recorded in a video
to ease the students with the content. Software should be updated regularly and new
technologies should be implemented.

Task 3
a)
ICT SYSTEM I
Hardware: The hardware we want to use in this system is quite overkilled for any general
computing task but these requirements are must because if we want to offer our students a
good diploma program in the field of ICT then we must be willing to go to the lengths that
they came along with. Having a fast and latest hardware in a system both tell and show are
students that we are able to provide the quality of systems that they require in order to
achieve the tasks that this field demands. Both of our graphic and system processor
combining with ram is capable to help the student to perform any task on nowadays
technology at a faster rate.
Software: Good software in a system is as much as essential as good hardware because no
matter how great your hardware is but if the software that connects the system together is
slow and outdated then the system will crash very often. Good hardware in a system makes it
fast and powerful but good software ensures reliability and security of a system. Getting
system equipped with the latest ICT software’s will help students to learn about new ways of
computing so that they can be ready for the future and put their knowledge at better use.
Data /Communication environment: Sharing of data between system is also very essential
because there might be cases where students can help each other so at that time having a good
communication environment will help them to do so. This not only helps the student to solve
their problems but also helps them to learn about new ways of ICT.
People who will use them: These type of systems will be used by mostly students who are
enrolled in ICT diploma program as these specifications are little over the top for someone
who will not go to need them on regular basis. The ICT students will have access to these
systems because their field requires this much computing power.
ICT SYSTEM 2
Hardware: This kind of system is reserved for mentors because to maintain a proper study
environment, teachers must also be given advance systems so that they can also perform the
task in front of the class so that students can first see and learn the basics. This system is also
equipped with the latest hardware components like fast GPU’s and CPU’s along with
sufficient ram.
Software: Just like the systems for students the system for teachers will have the latest
software which is essential to teaching the students about ICT. Having the latest software in
mentors system is important as well because teachers will be continuously fixing student’s
error and in order to do so they must also have the same software as them to level the
learning field.

Data/Communication environment: This system will also be connected to the rest of the
systems in the class as it will make easier for an educator to share points or to give
assignments to the whole class at once.
People who will use them: This system is mostly going to use by educator and mentors
because this system has special kind of communication environment which will help them to
share information like notes and assignments with the students(In text: Thorsteinsson, et,
al.,2012).

b)
Title: Determine appropriate ICT strategies and solutions
An executive summary
Our Ransford University offers several different diploma programs to our students who come
to us from various part of the country. This feasibility study will determine how to implement
our new ICT diploma programs and what all requirements are going to be needed in order to
do so.
As we all know our university offers several different study programs and to make
advancement in the field of education we are preparing to introduce a new Information and
Communication Technology diploma program for the students who are interested in this
field.
So in order to achieve this task we are preparing to expand our campus by building a new
floor and constructing several different classrooms on the new floor so that the new students
can have a good and positive learning experience. All classrooms will be equipped with the
latest IT systems for both student and teachers so that enhancement in learning can be
achieved.
We have a business plan and a Cost-benefit analysis to back up our claims and ideas. Both of
these things will determine the time, capital and all the other amount of resources that are
going to be needed to complete this project.
Description of ICT system solutions
The systems that are needed to be installed in the new classrooms are going to be equipped
with the latest hardware and software components. The field of ICT requires very fast
computing skills and to fulfill this require a person who is pursuing this field must have the
tools to do so. All system will have the latest high core system processors which can perform
the heavy task with minimal delay in time. Along with fast processors, good GPU is also
needed so that high-end ICT software can run efficiently. Latest software and operating
systems will be installed so that no student can fell left behind when it comes to knowledge.
Proper cooling and maintenance of the system will be done from time to time so that these
expensive systems can get the care that they require to maintain the efficiency(In text:
Vanderlinde, R. and Van Braak, J., 2010).
Human resources Needs

Direct cost- cost involved for buying the laptops, desktops, projectors, and for the installation
of software into them.
Indirect cost- cost involved in the installation of these systems into the classrooms.
Intangible cost- cost involved in the failure of software, operational inefficiency
Benefits-
Direct revenue- direct revenue will be generated from the student enrolled in the Graduation
diploma program that the college is starting.
Indirect revenue- More students taking admissions into the college because of increased
popularity as more diploma courses are available(In text: Mathew, V., 2010).
