INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are the way by which a person becomes success in graduate schools.
Academic skills includes writing, critical thinking, digital skills, employability, Maths, note
making, time manageable and many other skills (Votruba‐Drzal, Miller and Coley, 2016). This
present report will present a reflection on the development of academic skills by using Gibbs
Reflective model.
MAIN BODY
We know that academic skills are developed when a child enters in school and passing to
college for graduation. I have also developed academic skills when I was completing my
education. When I join my school, first thing I have learned in punctuality which is very
important for career development. When I was in 10th standard, I have to choose my field where I
have to go and continue my education like Science, Commerce or Arts where I have developed
my decision making skill because I have to evaluate my strength and weakness with academic
skills (Hosan and Hoglund, 2017). After the passing of time, I my college I have developed
interpersonal skills which is also very important in the development of personality. Further, I
have developed many skills which are writing, critical thinking, digital skills, employability,
Maths, note making, time manageable and many other skills. The experience I have got with my
academic session was amazing as it is all good. I am very good at all academic skills. Sometime,
I feel that I am legging behind in critical thinking, team work, problem solving, fluent speaking
(Kourakli and et.al., 2017). But still the experience was good. Beside this, my bad experience is
only with the subjec English. This is because I am very bad a grammar. Tenses and sentence
formation by which I cannot developed my English speaking skill. The positive things about my
experience of developing academic skills are that it makes me confidential and develop my
personality. I have start valuing my time as I understood that once time gone it will never be
reveal. Another positive things about these academic skills is that now I can make difference in
what is wrong and right by developing these skills. Another positive things is that I am very good
at Mathematical sklll, i used to calculate very fast and accurate. On the other hand, the negative
things I got is that English skills are very important in each filed like in science subject,
accountancy and all types of competition exams. I cannot able to crack these exams just because
I am lacking behind in English skills. Academic skills are very important for all the person living
on the earth because it makes a real person. Everyone have to developed these skills as it makes

the person literate and educated (Ansari and Crosnoe, 2015). According to my experience, it is
not necessary to run in race for achieving first position, but knowledge is very important which
can only be developed by these academic skills.
