Reflection is termed as the effective way by which individuals look back to their overall

have been indulged into the role play with one of my favourite colleagues named as Aga. In this
role play, I have played role of key worker and Aga was playing role of resident. Here, we have
gone through numerous of conversations which have actually developed my knowledge on the
behaviour and communication skill of the colleague. Also, the same thing have been noticed by
Aga about me. As a result, it was easier for us to enhance our interpersonal relationship with one

another during the role play. The overall role play was conducted in appropriate manner and
provided sense to the objective for which it was started.
Step 2: Feelings
Before starting this role play I was quite nervous as I had never been engaged into such
kind of activity in the past. Apart from the nervousness, I was quite happy too about the same
because it was quite excited activity which will not only develop my skill and knowledge but at
the same time it will also freshen up our mood and also develop interesting working environment
where we can work effectively without facing any sort of issue towards the same. By going
through the look back towards the whole scenario, it can be said that I feel quite satisfied I have
performed my role play in appropriate manner and learned a lot from it.
Step 3: Evaluation
The overall experience related to the role play is consist of both the positive as well as
negative experience towards the same (Mahlanze, Sibiya and Govender, 2015). My own activity
in the role play were up to the mark but it was quite difficult for me to corporate with the Aga as
many situation our corporation was not going well. Also, it has been analysed by me that I was
quite supportive towards Aga as I am having good coordination with the colleagues which have
supported in executing the role play in an effective manner. This have also supported in
developing better teamwork with them. In all, I realised that both of us shared good interpersonal
communication. But at the same time I noticed that there were certain negative aspects also in
relation to the execution of role play. In this regard, I can easily say that the environment was
one of the biggest challenges for us. It was difficult for us to find a room within the confines of
University. Also, there was a lot of noise in the room and some students disturbed us. Along with
this, another negative experience related to role play was non performing equipment used at
workplace because they were not at all good. Due to these equipments, it was quite difficult for
us to communicate in clear manner. This have directly created confusion among us at workplace.
Step 4: Analysis
On the basis of my personal experience, it can be said that main reason behind non
performing equipment was because they had become obsolete. I believe that Aga was reliable
and I would definitely like to indulge into another role play in the near future with her.

Step 5: Conclusion
From the overall experience felt by during the role play clearly specifies that I have learnt
many things from it (Husebø, O'Regan and Nestel, 2015). Mainly I have developed my
communication skill from the whole role play as during this session I have interacted with my
colleague a lot. Along with it has also developed my interpersonal relationships with the
colleagues a lot as during the role play I got to know about their personal life as well. This
development have directly supported me out in enhancing my team working spirit with these
people in appropriate manner.
Step 6: Action
If this situations occur in the near future then I will surely participate into the same role
play. But, in the next time I will prefer to opt another role in order to enhance my communication
and interpersonal skill in more effective manner. Along with this, I will also try to choose my
role play partner before starting it. Apart from this, I will personally make sure to check out all
equipments which will going to be used in role play so that future issues could be ignored or
respective precaution could be taken towards the same in rightful manner.
SOLER Model
SOLER (Egan, 1986) is a technique but is can be applicable in any situation. With this
method it aids others to feel valued and heard while ensuring that their messages are fully
understood by listener. With the application of soler guidelines, I effectively improve my
listening skills and become much more effective. This model helps me to be mentally and
physically active listener. With the help of soler technique I effectively ensure that there is no
possible distraction for example any paper work and mobile.
