Receiving a scholarship is a very important achievement for any student that encourages
and helps the student to continue study and pursue advanced studies as well. Therefore, I
presume every student who is interested in higher studies must get a scholarship. It will motivate
them to continue study and meets their financial needs to some extent. However, certain criteria
are required in order to maintain get a scholarship degree. Apart from the academic scores and
qualifications, it is also important for the students to have a great personality and strive for
excellence. Proper planning in academics with self-discipline and participation are considered to
be the most important aspects of getting a scholarship.
Self-discipline is associated with the notion of the best use of time and resources with a
proper manner that fits my goals and objectives as a student. It has to be based on a proper order
that makes me highly focused on my career and academic practices and develop my knowledge
in utilising time and resources effectively. However, for developing self-discipline, I prepare a
routine and it covers all my daily activities. The daily routine is focused on my goals and intends
to meet my academic goals properly. I took the help of my parents and supervisor to guide me in
sorting my goals. On the other hand, I have participated in several extra-curricular activities like
sports. I am a member of my school basketball team and regularly represent my school in various
basketball competition. Therefore, my participation in the school projects is visible enough that
prove my dedication and respect to my school. It is also considered to be a criterion for having a
scholarship. In fact, I participate in the school sports enthusiastically that can contribute to my
efforts to get a scholarship.
In addition to this, the academic standing play the most important and significant aspect
for getting a scholarship. My academic scores are good throughout the year and I try hard to
make it better. I have consulted with my supervisor regarding improving my academic scores

and he provides me with some tips that I follow seriously. Firstly, I attend the class every day
and take all the note that is shared by my professors. Moreover, I study daily as per my routine,
so there is no room of wasting time. I presume that a cordial relation with the professors is also
contributed to helping my academic scores. Therefore, on a monthly or weekly basis, I visit the
professors’ room and discuss the problems and challenges that I face in my study. They help me
a lot by guiding and shaping my mind focused on achieving the goals. As a result of that, I am
able to continue good performance in my academics. Therefore, I score good points in tests also.
All the factors are highly contributed to become a confident and focused student who
aspires to continue higher studies. My efforts and abilities vividly project the skills to be a good
student with a promising career. Therefore, I think I deserve a scholarship.
