Respected Sir/Madam,
I am writing this application to express my interest to enroll myself in the Masters in
Secondary Teaching Program that is conducted in your reputed institution. My subject will
be in Biology. I am currently pursuing Masters in Public Health and also hold professional
experience as a teacher and customer service in India. I have also completed my bachelor’s
degree in Biotechnology. The program offered by your University fits with my education and
career interest.
I had biology as one of my subjects in class 11 and 12. Therefore, I have a keen interest in
going ahead with the subject and pursue a teaching program to become a biology teacher in
the future. Teaching has always been my passion since childhood. The most inspiring thing
about a teacher is that they contribute and make an impact on the community in a meaningful
way. As a teacher, I will be more like a mentor and a friend. One of the reasons that I want to
become a teacher is because I want to leave an imprint in the lives of the student and impart
the same knowledge and values that I received as a student. Teachers make the students
believe in themselves and give them the confidence to move ahead. Teaching is the right

career choice as it is one of the most rewarded and respectable professions which comes with
job security. Teachers also enjoy retirement benefits. In my opinion, a teacher never grows
old as every year they meet new students that have their own set of ideas which helps the
teacher to have a unique experience and learn something from that experience. Teaching
young children will help me to get better knowledge about my subject as they will ask
innovative questions that will push my bar as a teacher. Children are creative so it will be a
lively experience for me while I teach them. As a teacher, I will help the students to shape
their minds in a better way so that they become responsible individuals. I want to teach
Biology as my first preference and TESOL as my second. Biology has always been my
favourite subject. When I used to give private tuitions on this subject, children used to love it
as it was interesting. Human and plant anatomy always excites students. The subject will still
draw the interest of the students. According to me, a good teacher is one who does not act as
a leader instead learns for the student and from them. A teacher should be honest and patient
with his/her students as well as assist them in building their self-esteem. I want you to
consider me for this position as I am committed to learning new things. I have attended
seminars and lectures at my graduation that will help me in my class lecture. In my college, I
have volunteered in the science exhibition that allowed me to look at things in a new light. I
am patient, tolerant, hardworking and honest that will help me to become a good teacher. I
have excellent communication skills as I have worked as a customer service executive in
India at Infosys and Airtel DTH respectively along with a course in French Culture which
helped me to interact with students, counsel them and resolve their problems. The above
experiences will help me in my future goal as a teacher; it will also help me to do my work
with accuracy. I have always tried to learn new things and had a friendly behaviour at my
workplace that will help me to become a good teacher. I have participated in many co-
curricular activities that have helped me to develop my skills which I can apply while

teaching. I also worked as a trainer in Touchstone Educationals, Chandigarh, India. My job
role was to prepare the students for the IELTS exam and conduct their interviews. As I have
worked as a trainer, I am adept in classroom instruction, development of lesson plans and
parent-teacher relations. I believe in utilizing my teaching skills in a positive way that will
benefit the students and create a co-operative and productive environment.
I request you to consider me for this position as it will help me to fulfill my dream of
becoming a teacher of Biology. I meet the necessary criteria for enrolling myself in this
course. I would be highly obliged if you grant my application and allow me to become a part
