cooled distribution transformer. However, the most important work in this project was the
simulation of all waveforms from the continuous power supply. The results from both the
sinusoidal and square waveforms were calculated as per the below mentioned table:

In this project, the modelling of transformer was done from the alteration of both current
and voltage within the primary as well as secondary winding. The magnetized curve of
transformer is considered to be linear so that all calculation can be done by considering a simple
constant. After all the testing work, the performance parameter of interest was deduced after
solving the circuit design based on load conditions.
CE 2.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
To complete this project, I had used the theoretical knowledge of transformer designing
along with the simulation techniques that done by MATLAB. In the methodology concept, I used
the knowledge of power consumption and voltage calculation depending on the circuit structure
of transformer. However, I used both the short circuit test as well as open circuit test. In addition
to this, the power also gets supplied in the transformer in both continuous and discontinuous
supply form. For the continuous supply, I used the sinusoidal waveform and square waveform on

I had also used the concept of PC-based programming for doing the designing work of
both single phase core type and single phase shell type transformers. Moreover, by using my
entire engineering concept, I made some assumptions that are considered in this project include:
a. The cores need to be proportioned due to which the flux density is uniform manner
b. The low voltage coil needs to be employed close to the core
c. The high voltage coil needs to be employed above the low voltage coil

Along with all these assumptions, another important factor for transformer design was resistance
per meter of both secondary and primary wires depending on a particular design temperature.
CE 2.3.3 Accomplishment and task performed
The most important task performed by me was the creation of the whole program flow chart
which is shown below:
Apart from the flow chart creation, I also accomplished the work of simulation based on
selected parameters and also successfully deduced the desired outcomes. As per the

CE 2.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
One of the major issues faced in this project was the selection of transformer type. Then
after the selection of core type transformer, I chose single phased transformer so that more output
can be gained from more input. In the single phased transformer, I faced problems from the
determination of wavelength. After all these core project problems, I also faced some difficulties
in the team work and their coordination. Secondly, another core problem faced in this project
discussed about the calculation of resistance per meter in wire table was calculated at different
temperature rather than the required temperature of the design work.
To overcome all these problems, I examined the input first properly so that the desired
results can be obtained. I also prepared different design alternatives in case of the failure of the
previous version. Apart from all that, I also did the efficiency comparisons in both core loss
ratio and efficiency parameters.
CE 2.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
In way to innovate the project, the calculation work is done from high and low voltage
coils, flux path length, peak flux and the calculation of RMS value of the magneto-motive force
and the mean length of flux path. I also used different team building skills and practices for the
creation of this best team. I used MATLAB in different innovate work of this particular project.
CE 2.3.6 Collaborative work
I had completed this project in a group work with my other colleagues who help in the
whole project work. I used to meet my project supervisor consistently and present a week after
meaning of team work.
