Philosophy
Stoicism is a tool for directing our beliefs and effort in an uncertain world.
Controlling our mind and choosing our behavior but not counting on external matters and not
controlling them. Further, our reactions to something matters not what is happening to us.
Stoicism is an active philosophy. It is not enough to know its beliefs; they have to live
them too, expand habits and practice ideas ( Tanner, 2017).
Believe of the Stoics
Nothing can make a person happy or unhappy without their own acceptance, the
Stoics assumed. Only the thoughts and purpose is what they can control; rest everything is
not in their hand. In this philosophy, perspective is everything. When dealing with fear,
anger, and emotions, at that point of frustration level self-control is a major thing. Not
thinking for external events can create happiness.
Hope and fear are risky emotions baseless to encourage us to nominate external
situations good or bad, on the report of Stoicism, which have no importance for personal
happiness ( Reddoch, 2018).
The way we think about things, the judgments we make is the only thing we can
control.
Approach
1. Do not expect
2. Do not bind yourself to irritating people
3. Stop affecting things that are bad
4. Emotions need to be felt
5. Make anger your choice
Example
In future, Stoicism philosophy can help me in dealing with situations where I get
angry. In such a situation, I would apply Stoicism and remember to avoid the external factors.
