Travel and tourism is one of the fastest growing sector and contribute to a high extent in
the economic stability of a nation. To accomplish success and to earn profit it is important for
tourism company to carried out all their activities in a sustainable manner (Ham. and Weiler,
2012). Therefore, firm need to run all its business operations in an appropriate manner so that
environment and society do not get hampered. For this purpose, there are different laws and
legislation are made by the government for the tourism sector. Apart from this it is important for
company to carry out all its activity in a legal manner. The present report is based on sustainable
tourism development with reference to the case study. In this report discussion will be done on
different types of stakeholder that can provide support and benefit to tourism sector. Along with
this, different factors will be discussed that can prevent or hinder the sustainable tourism
development. Apart from this, different concept related to the sustainable tourism with reference
to Philippine case study will be explained.

tourism development. Therefore, president also initiate and take part in identifying the
destination where it is important to promote sustainable tourism (Spenceley, 2012.).. Planning is
a process through which it becomes easy to accomplish the set goals and objectives.
Stakeholders are important for an organisation and they help business in accomplishing
success. There are different stakeholders which get benefits from planning of tourisms
development. There are different stakeholders of tourism company such as government, local
resident and audience . For tourism company it is not easy to accomplish success. Being the
important stakeholders of the tour company it is responsibility of their to increase enhance the
number of visitors in the Philippine which help in promoting sustainable development.
Therefore, through involving different stakeholders in planning of tourism development process
then get new ideas and suggestions in respect to make effective decisions (Edgell Sr, 2016).
Important stakeholders of travel and tourism sector of Philippine are as follows:

Local resident: Local people are those who live in the nation from long time. They are those
people who have enough knowledge related to their country in which they live. Therefore, they
can be involved in the planning process .
Visitors/ customers: Tourist are one of the important stakeholder of the tourism sector
and they play significant role in the growth and development of the country. Without them it
becomes difficult for the tour company to survive. Therefore, if visitors are unable to visit the
Philippine country then become difficult for them to earn money and without inflow of money
growth of economy get impacted (Scott. and et.al., 2015). It is important to take suggestion from
customers related to the destination and things which can affect their decision of visiting a
particular place. It is important for the travel and tour company to provide attractive package so
that they get encourage to visit the new place. Customer should be make aware of sustainable
tourism and they should be involve to take participants in it.
Government: Government is also one of the another important stakeholders of tourism
industry and if Philippine tour company do not take their consideration than it become difficult
for them survive in market. There are many rules and regulation made by the government so that
tour company can carry out their business activities in an effective manner . There are also few
restriction due which company need to follow otherwise it need to pay for it. Along with this,

facilities, accommodation etc which are convenient for customers. On the other side, in private
sector they provide hotel facilities, accommodation, restaurant and transport facilities according
to the customers' requirement. In private company there is no interfere of government and all the
policies are formulated by owner. According to the given scenario, tourism company of both

attractive services to customers (Lee, 2013). This help in increasing the resources so that all the

Advantages
 Shared risk: Working in partnership help company in reducing risk while carrying out
tour activities. It helps in reducing the overall risk and it is shared between both the
firms . Result of this is that it help in increasing the profit and reducing the chances of
risk occurrence. Therefore, this assist in gaining higher revenue that provide benefit to
the economy of Philippines.
 Increased in productivity: Private and public sector partnership play significant role in
respect to increase productivity. It is because both the companies resources are used in an
effective manner for running the business activities at large scale. Result of increase in
productivity is that it help in maximising the profit of the company.
 Decrease in cost: One of the main advantage of partnership in between the public and
private company is that it help in reducing the cost that occur while carrying out business
operations. For example it helps in saving the cost that occur from the projects planning,

Hence, it can be state that there are many benefits of the partnership in between the
public and private company in travel and tourism sectors. Company can easily bear the losses
equally and can provide innovative services to customers.
Disadvantages
 Political risk and problem of shortage of labour:
 It is proven that political party ca highly influenced the activities which are carried out
by tour company. Therefore, if there is political instability then it becomes difficult for
the company to carry out there business activities. Apart from this, In Philippine there are
strict labour laws and because of this it becomes tough for them work effectively.
Shortage of labour is one of the issues due to which company can face lots of problems
(Travels and tourism industry 2016).
 Poor low quality: Therefore it can be stated that in partnership there can be a chance that

interest occur. Interest of different stakeholder is become one of the barrier for the growth and
development for the economy. As per the case scenario of Philippine country, president is
looking for growth and development of the sustainable tourism in their country . Therefore, he
visited at different destination to analyse it and also posted different picture of the same. The
conflict between stakeholder take place at the time when they saw picture of touching the corals
which reflects that tourism in the nation is not responsible for the saving the natural beauty of
country. In Philippine there are different destinations which have some natural beauty and it gets
impacted because of the minor action of the human beings. Therefore, in respect to resolve the
conflict interest of the stakeholder regularities authority need to take some action to promote the
sustainable tourisms (Prebežac. and et.al., 2016). Due to this reason government of the Philippine
has adopted new development approaches in respect to make environmental friendly tourism
