The primary purpose of the case study is to provide information regarding the Swedish
Medical Centre, a health care organization in the Greater Seattle area. The case study will
demonstrate the external environment along with the strategies and objectives of this healthcare
center. Besides this, the company position after five years by following these strategies and
objectives will also be further discussed in this paper. Furthermore, some recommendation and
competitive strategies will also be demonstrated in this paper.

Swedish Medical Center is one of the largest health organization present in Greater
Seattle area. It is founded by Sisters of Providence and thereby affiliated by Providence St.
Joseph Health, a Catholic in 1856 (Aslan, Çınar & Kumpikaitė, 2012). It has five acute care
hospitals such as Cherry Hill, First Hill, Edmonds, Ballard, and Issaquah having a network of
100 specialty clinics and primary care.

The Great Seattle area of Washington is a politically and economically stable state which
thereby provides positive aspects on the Swedish Medical Center organization external

technology by making significant investments. It would also make a new emergency department
with an urgent health care center and a behavioral health unit.
Furthermore, it will develop a new diagnostic center, observation unit, and a parking
garage. Moreover, it shall also work for the expansion of its building and providing enhanced
facilities to have more visits each year. Such new development will offer faster and more
adorable care which would help in reducing times of waiting, ensuring greater privacy and a
more pleasant environment overall (Harrison & Coombs, 2012).
