Sri Lanka is a country that provides hostage to people from different cultures whether
it is in the field of business profession, or in any other fields. It understands the language
barriers, food barriers and religion barrier. The language used in Sri Lanka is the Sinhala and
it is the mother tongue of Sri Lanka and used by its ethic group. It is spoken by most of the
people, however other languages such as Tamil is also used. This language is spoken by the
traditional Tamil families residing in Sri Lanka. Therefore it can be said that different
languages are used in Sri lanka. The main Sri Lankan religions are Hinduism and Buddhism.
This has an effect on the social, political and cultural life of people. There are different
beliefs of the different religions such as the Buddhists follow non-violence and others. On
the other hand there are other beliefs of hindu religion such as they believe in samsara that all
our activities determines our re-carnation. The country has a culture of maintaining face or
gives importance to maintain dignity.
Strong security is being provided by hotel in coordination with the tourism minister to
provide protection to foreign customers flying to the country after the Easter attack. Various
night curfews have also been arranged by the armed forces to provide security to the tourists
in Sri Lanka and in case of any emergency the Indian high commission in Colombo can be
contacted for further security options1. The government of Sri Lanka has along with the
tourism minister of Sri Lanka have improved the protection of its tourists after the Easter
attack. Hotels have been given all forms of financial reliefs after the Easter attack that can be
used by the hotels to create better security projects in their hotels2. In order to develop the

present security systems the hoteliers are in need of additional capital and interest and they
are asking the government to waive the same for at least a period of two years.
Sri Lanka is among the most preferred tourist spots due to various reasons such as its
location it is located in the Indian ocean, it an island country, it has a rich heritage of culture
and it provides homage to people from different cultures3. However, it has become a
favourite spot for tourist attacks and recently there have been incidents of suicide bombing
case in many major locations of Colombo. There are many reasons behind the same the most
common reason is that these terrorist want international attentions. Irrespective of these
attacks in Sri Lanka it is still one of the most favourite tourist place due to various attractions.
Some of the major tourist attractions include- Makaraya, is dragon mouth where the water is
flowing into the tunnel in form of a whirlpool. Henanigala Panchawasa is another major
tourist attractions where King used to gather warriors in a temple made of rocks, the
Richmond castle is a palace in Sri Lanka and there various other temples and lakes worth
visiting in Sri Lanka. Besides these tourist attractions, what attracts people is the rich cultural
background of the country and the flora and fauna. It is a home for people belonging to
different cultures so tourist also visits the place to enjoy the cultural diversity of communities
staying there4.
