INTRODUCTION
. Employability skills are very essential for the individual to get desired job. The
employee must have good command on their subject, technical knowledge and problem-solving
skills to get desired job. Travelodge Hotel is a hospitality industry in United Kingdom
(Wickramasinghe and Perera, 2010). It has secured second position in terms of budget. The
overall profit of this hotel is £27.0m. In this report, the main concern is to determine the
responsibilities and performance of individual. Further, the focus is given on developing
interpersonal and transferable skills. The report has analysed different roles of the people and
team dynamics. Moreover, different strategies are discussed for solving the problem. The impact
of these strategies on the business operation are defined.
Task 1
1.1 The responsibilities and performance objectives of an individual
As a human resource management of Travelodge Hotel, the main responsibility is to
make effective decision regarding employees and the management of the hotel.. Human resource
manager has to look over the performance of all the employees for better functioning of the
hotel. Another responsibility of human resource manager is to maintain effective relationship in
Travelodge resort. Further they have to look after the employment rights like everyone will get
fair income according to their job work. . So human resource manager has to make effective
planning to receive the guests and provide them the best facilities.
The performance of all the employees of Travelodge hotel can be maintained by
monitoring their growth (Korschun, Bhattacharya and Swain, 2014). This can be achieved by
setting performance objectives. The human resource manager has to handle the salary levels,
bonuses and incentives related schemes so that they can encourage their employees to increase
their productivity. They have to provide trainings so that they can understand changing needs
and demands of their customers and behave properly. The human resource manager of
Travelodge hotel has to identify the strengths and weakness so that they can hire right person for
right job. The main objective of the human resource manager is to set goals which may be
helpful for achieving long term goals and objectives of the hotel. Human resource manager has
to promote training and other development programs regularly.
The other objective of human resource management is to make effective communication
between all the members so that they can effectively work in the workplace and solve their

1.2 Effectiveness of the performance objectives

performance of the hotel. There are several advantages of making performance objectives. For
example, performance appraisals help managers to find out efficient workers and make different
policies for their promotion (Atkin and Brooks, 2014). Further, it helps in dismissing the less
skilled employees. The training programs helps in increasing the skills of the staff members so
that they can clearly understand the problems and find innovative solution. The performance
appraisals also help in increasing the trust of the hotel workers so that they can put more efforts
to achieve future goals of the hotel. Additionally, workers development plans help manager to set
different plans for framing trainings for the employees.

manager has to make arrangements for providing best services to the customers at different
occasions. It is recommended that human resource manager has to conduct regular surveys to
determine the performance of the workers and provide them feedbacks. Regular feedbacks help
staff memebers to know their lacking areas and their position among other workers (Chase and
et.al., 2013).
