What is global citizenship?
Currently global citizenship is continuously increasing as people have various rights and
responsibilities that are required to be followed by them as a part of the world. The things that
can be done by individuals to become global citizen are learning about the stuff that are bought
by them, getting involved in politics etc. All the participants contribute in the world's activity
they have the power to influence world's dynamics. There are few characteristics which global
citizen must posses. Different countries have different cultures beliefs and values. To understand
new ways of life person has to be open minded and acceptable (Dower and Williams, 2016).
Knowing new world can be tiring and difficult, being rigid will stop a person from gaining new
experiences. Travelling to new places comes with a lot of challenges it requires a person to be
adjustable to new scenarios, new rules, difficult weather, unknown language and many other
problems. Curiosity and adventure helps to understand about the distinctive lifestyles, history of
new places. Answers to various questions can be known by becoming a global citizen.
With reference to this concept global citizens were awarded for working towards saving
humanity. These are the people who took the responsibility of humans suffering within the
country as well as different part of the world. Thinking outside of the box and leadership are the
core elements of this concept. Teachers in school are making students aware about culture
diversity through case studies organising activities with all age groups of students. Education of
global citizenship provides young generation an opportunity to explore world. It guides them to
see things in new light (Stoner and et.al., 2014).
