Introduction
This report gives a brief analysis of the benefits which I hope to receive by completing my
BSOL Degree from Union University on the subject project management. It also defines he
leadership skills I developed throughout the course. Project management includes the knowledge
of planning, scheduling and estimating the cost of the project. It also involves the strategies
applied on the project and the way the risks are assessed (ELearn, 2007).
Discussion
The project management course in the BSOL degree from Union University comprises of many
aspects of knowledge. Throughout the course I learned the fundamental principles of project
management. Along with this, I received core knowledge of the planning, scheduling, cost
estimation and change management. Various other aspects of the course included the
communication systems and risk management. Along with this, this course comprised of the
strategies and the innovations of the project management which were identified throughout the
learning process.
The course curriculum of Union University included a program known as Leadership
Development Program (LDP) which was meant to enhance the leadership skills of a student.
This program helped in identifying the leadership skills of an individual and made him connect
his subordinates (Byrne, 2006). This program also helped an individual to strategize his activities
and then in implementing them to achieve the goals easily. Apart from the classroom
environment, the university organizes various workshops on different students and encourages
them to learn more. The University also takes examinations on regular basis so that the students
remain in touch with the subject and understand its importance. The core companies of the
particular subjects are called in thee University so that the student receive the best place to work.

After the completion of the degree, I hope I gain brief knowledge about the project management
along with the leadership skills. If I will be able to indulge the leadership qualities which I learn
in the university into project management then I will be able to work more efficiently. The
management skills will grow and I will be able to undertake the projects easily. The university
allowed me to implement the core concepts of project management practically in real life by
organizing training and development programs. The different workshops and competitions
helped me in getting in-depth knowledge of the subject apart from the fundamental basics of the
subject. The risk assessment of the project helps me in knowing the disadvantages of the project
and motivated me to make new changes (Kendrick, 2015).
Conclusion
This course of project management which is a part of BSOL degree of Union University helped
me in understanding the basic knowledge of the subject. The training and development programs
allowed me to implement these concepts practically on the field which will help me on a long-
term when I will work in the industry. Along with this, the Leadership and Development
Program helped me in identifying my leadership skills and gaining grip on it. I understood the
importance of implementing leadership skills in project management.
